Of the 2,300 Americans polled by YouGov, 80% of baby boomers and 91% of the elderly agree with the statement that “communism was and still is a problem” in the world today. Millennials? Only 55%.
Furthermore, almost half of Americans between the ages of 16 to 20 said they would vote for a socialist, while 21% would go so far as to back a communist.
Capitalism, on the other hand, is viewed favorably by 64% of those over the age of 65, compared with only 42% of millennials.
In fact, more than half of millennials say the economic system works against them, while four out of 10 call for a “complete change” to ensure highest earners pay their fair share.
There’s a lack of historical perspective, according to the foundation, that the survey showed among a big chunk of the younger generation. For instance, a third of millennials say they believe more people were killed under George W. Bush than Joseph Stalin.
This is the fruit of decades of public education programming.
Agreed. This is why they fight so hard for the continuation of Government schools. They are not schools – they are indoctrination camps.

No one ever seems able to give a specific amount that’s fair but those calling for it, if you question them about what they mean, usually end up with a “I pay nothing and someone else pays everything” sort of answer.

No surprise there, really. Want to really get scared, try to get pretty much anyone under 25 to solve a math / engineering problem that requires any – any – thought or reasoning beyond A+B=C and you’ll get dumbfounded silence and blank stares. I’ve been teaching college classes since 2004 and the problem-solving ability of the students went over a cliff in the last couple of years. It’s not just me either! I know others in similar fields who have been teaching college level classes for decades and suddenly, about 2 years ago, they had to change everything about the way they teach because the students just could not comprehend the same lesson plans that have been in use for years.
FWIW my 14 year old could identify all of those on the above list.
interesting comment, I also teach business courses as an adjunct at a local college and re-use a half dozen exams (with modification), student performance is getting worse, problem solving is poor, numbers are a mystery to them.
I make a solid attempt to counter the surge of communism within my age bracket. Its a tough road to hoe, they have only the barest grasp on history, or current politics. They parrot Democratic Propaganda like its gospel, and are only aware of Norway’s successes and America’s failings.
Many of them are educated with jobs that do not support their lifestyle. Many of them are even small business owners, who game the system at every turn, only paying employees under the table and looting their own business non-stop to pay for vacations on a monthly basis because “they deserve it.”
I have little hope for a peaceful resolution. The various perversions and depredations carried out in the name of those on high are laid bare, and even though they would like to think we are all distracted by Netflix and Porn, scratch that surface and you find a simmering anger. No matter what, I increasingly am concerned of a Civil War, one in the modern style, with insurrectionists and guerrilla cells springing up nationwide, Rural vs. Urban.
