Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

For all his blunders and stumbles in his first half-year as President (cough cough), Donald Trump seems to have more lives than Schrödinger’s Cat. Or maybe it just seems that way. Or maybe he isn’t really there at all (like the news these days). Maybe Trump only represents one comic probability in an infinite number of universes of probability, both comic and tragic. I begin to understand why the folks in Hollywood are having a whack attack over the chief executive: you can’t storyboard this bitch; it’s like leaving The Three Stooges on their own in a sound stage to re-make Gone With the Wind.

But then, you begin to wonder: is Russia really there, or is it, too, just another figment of possibility? Don’t try to figure that out by reading the oracular observations of The Washington Post. These days Russia seems to be at once everywhere and nowhere, like the Devil north of Boston in 1693. For example, this fellow Jeff Sessions. Have you noticed that his name rhymes with Russians? Hmmmm. And wasn’t he caught chatting with the Russian Ambassador at the very same convocation of Republicans that picked notorious colluder Donald Trump to stand for President? That’s enough of your damn evidence right there!

Yes, things are passing strange in the world’s greatest democracy these days. To me, seeing the thing through an historical lens, it’s looking more and more like the Salem Witch Frenzy meets the French Revolution with a spin of quantum confusion on top. Right now we’re in the first phase, sheer political lunacy. Beliefs have become ungrounded from the facts of life. The guy whom fate or a prankish deity put in the White House doesn’t even fit the template of the world’s most infamous heads-of-state. I’m sorry to dredge up old Adolf, but really, Hitler himself seemed to have a much firmer idea about what he was doing than Trump does.

The ObamaCare reform fiasco looks like a tipping point toward a strain of toxic political paralysis that might literally kill the government as we’ve known it. Over the many months of debate, congress never even got around to raising the salient issue: that the 18-or-so-percent of the economy “health care” represents consists largely of outright racketeering. Well, they sure blew that one. The major parties are disintegrating before our eyes, despite the seeming sense of decorum that senators present on TV. The public may seem to be mentally on vacation, snoozing on the beach in the midsummer doldrums, but something vicious is in the wind offshore.

I’d actually go further now than the “soft coup d’état” scenario that has Trump run over by the 25th amendment. It will happen, of course, but it will not satisfy anybody. Mike Pence will prove to be as ineffectual and unpopular as Trump, and he will be drowning in financial and fiscal problems, and he will get no help from the legislature in resolving any of it, and before too long there may be a general in the White House — or attempting to run things from someplace else, if he can. The whole nauseating spectacle will be attended by violent popular revolt of region against region and tribe against tribe in a great civil explosion of long-suppressed angst.

Too many nasty forces are vectoring in on the scene to overthrow the dream state America has been languishing in. Most of them involve money (or “money”) and the questions of how can we possibly keep paying for the way we live in this country, and who exactly has been fobbing off with the former wealth of every rusted and busted community in the land? It’s going to start in the stock and bond markets and it will be soon. And then the US Treasury will destroy the dollar trying (again) to save the banks. And the bank accounts will be frozen. And the loans will stop being paid. And the SNAP cards are going to stop working, and pretty soon the just-in-time deliveries to the supermarkets, and the resupply to the gas stations, and there won’t be much that Mike Pence can do about it. He’ll be shoved aside and the military will have to try to restore order in the land. When they do, it will not be the same land we sang about back in the fifth grade. Up in a cloud somewhere over Ohio, maybe, Schrödinger’s Cat will be gazing down on us, grinning.

Pffft. Pipedreams and poppycock.

Love JHK but he obviously spends way too much time consuming the koolaid of the New York Times.

Not only will there be no invocation of the 25th amendment and no President Pence, Trump will be reelected in 2020.

Book it, Danno.

As usual, there is a lot of Trumpeteer screaming and very little analysis going on in the comments. I have no idea whether the 25th Amendment will be invoked or whether Obamacare will get revoked, but I do know either will make virtually zero difference. Apparently, all of you stopped reading, or at least stopped thinking as soon as you read “it will happend, of course.” JHK is completely unfounded in this certainty. It may, it may not. Who cares? When do any of you realize there are no political solutions. The US empire will collapse because it must collapse, because every empire in history has collapse and because math.
When I here idiocy like “Not only will there be no invocation of the 25th amendment and no President Pence, Trump will be reelected in 2020. Book it, Danno.” It sounds exactly like “Would I say there will never, ever be another financial crisis? You know probably that would be going too far but I do think we’re much safer and I hope that it will not be in our lifetimes and I don’t believe it will be.”
Linear thinking in a cyclical, exponential world.
Did any of you make it to this line “And the SNAP cards are going to stop working, and pretty soon the just-in-time deliveries to the supermarkets, and the resupply to the gas stations” Do you think Trump (or anyone) can save us from this? It’s about debt and corruption and diminishing returns on complexity and a lack of social cohesion and cultural and spiritual malaise infecting 350 million people in the US alone. Any you all make it only about Trump. Trump is the harbinger of collapse, that is all. He is not its architect and certainly won’t be its savior.

I seem to always need to clarify what I think should be very clear. I am making NO predictions here and certainly no political statements. I don’t know the future any more than anyone else. I, however, know that I don’t know. And I know that things change fast during a Fourth Turning and I know how exponential curves work.

The idiocy I speak of is claiming to know the future with any certainty. Will Trump be elected president of the United States in 2020? I don’t know.

I cannot say with complete certainty that there will be a US presidential election in 2020. I think there may be as high as 5-10% chance that there will not be.

Can anyone think of an MSM campaign that is as large, vicious, concentrated and fact free as the one that has been aimed at Trump to destroy him and his Presidency since before he even took office?

I can’t, I think it is some kind of new historical record.

The hate campaign against Nixon -closest thing I can recall- seems almost like praise compared to what is being directed at Trump.

It has taken the election of Donald Trump to reveal what we’re dealing with.

It’s obvious that the left and media are very fearful. Their fear is a reflection of their own hatred. Now when we’re in-charge they believe we must hate them, as much as they hated us.

This is really a civil war.

Good job (cough, cough) Kunt at your never-ending hatred of Trump.

Why don’t you ever mention the 10 Trillion increase in the debt provided by Obama – this put the U.S. in a financial death spiral.

Why don’t you defend Obamacare (cough, cough) – you know the health care (cough, cough) bill signed by ALL Dem politicians that didn’t read one sentence of it; you know, the same bill that is now failing across America.

And you shit on Trump cuz you can’t admit you liberals fucked America.

The US financial system has been in a death spiral since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913.

It has lasted far longer than anyone could have imagined through financial shenanigans, such as removal of the gold standard, ultra low interest rates, pitiful lending standards, and repeal of mark to market.

So true and beyond the short time span you’ve magnified.
President Cleveland going to Morgan to float the treasury
Silver mining interests bankrupting us before that
Congress is sent to DC to steal more for his district and self than the congressman he sets next to. We wonder why they’re thieves
Balance the budget and it becomes manageable again. Book a flight to Mars while you’re at it

Sorry, you missed “The Russains Are Coming!”, Cuntsler. This whole mess is crafted by Hillarlosers and provisioned by the deep state banksters , who also managed to populate Trump’s cabinet with Mc Carthyite Neanderthal Hooligan Zombies from the Nixon/Johnson era.
Sit back and enjoy the show.

He even managed to revive the Trump is Hitler meme in yet another vomitous rant. Does he still make a living off of this tripe?
There was a time when his writings helped red pill me, it was a long time ago, who knows, maybe there is 1 or 2 people out there that will benefit from this.
At some level Trump is exactly what the US needs, even if he is unfit or unable to ‘fix’ shit. Jim, just take a brief look at all that the Trump Campaign and the Trump Presidency have exposed, weather you will admit it or not, your understanding of American politics has been transformed by Donald Trump. Many subterranean issues have risen to the surface because of Donald Trump, not the GOP, not the DNC.
As Anon posted above I have never witnessed such obstruction and attack, it is obviously game on.

Hey! JHK, you got this one right and made it sound like
such a fun experience we will all have when the seams rip
out.
People are not really aware of the big picture, but many have a clue.
Remember when Gingrich said, “wait a minute, he isn’t one of us”…
that would be Trump.

Remember folks, the machine is HUGE. Every Congress critter has
the requisite control file. The file is mandatory. The American
elite in Congress, generals, corporations, bankers, the entirety of
military big-wigs, Hollywood, MSM, Pharma cartels, and the 9000
departments within big gov. and all the military “contractors”
eg Dyncorp, the drugs, the organ harvesting and the porn industry,
and the children going missing. I am missing some of it I’m sure.

At present, the powers (which are black hats) far exceed any white
hats that are sick of the black hats. No one dares to go against the black hats…they will have an accident or commit the suicide-o.
In other words, the entire machine is against Trump. So, by hook
or crook, they have to get rid of him. There are not enough prisons
to hold them all. Nothing against Trump…I like him…it is just that
the dirt bags profiting from dirty war, and having the pedo control
files in the ether, cannot allow him to reveal this rotten stuff.
Should you desire to do research on any of this “rotten stuff”?
There are loads of people writing and researching around the clock
and around the world.

This is not common knowledge, but consider this:

Suzanna-
I believe your right. My Cogdis flares up whenever I start to think about it, especially the pedo blackmail files. I have to watch a 1/2 hour of CNN, to re-normalize so I can get back to work to pay the bills.
A small bone to pick, and I really appreciate Webb, shadowy as he is, but Arsenal makes THE best AK’s available, period, so:
“Acording to Geoge Webb, la M-Rubia, Lindsey Graham & John McCain have a substantial financial investment in the Bulgaria arm factory Arsenal (ARCEC).”

I wish I could get in on that, if I needed an AK, Arsenal would be front of list. FWIW.

Otto,
well good, glad you have a source for excellent weaponry.
No argument there.
People often wonder how $200K plus perks, can lead to millionaires
and billionaires in our illustrative Congress Class? Well, lobbyists,
insider trading, (now admitted and “legal”) the occasional bribe…
so what, they all do it. Of course they will buy in to the Arsenal
factory. The “under the table” manufacturing involves DU and
white phosphorus bombs…that is the devilish part. Then they lie,
steal and cheat, to create war for profit. Might as well profit by
it, right?
I am no literal peace freak, or, threats have to be confronted.
However, destroying one country, and the people in it, with
vicious “weapons” that destroy the earth/and people…for the profit
of other countries? I don’t think so. And you don’t either.
All pols are so vile, it is hard to trust Trump, yet I think he wants
to help.

I’m happy to see never Trumpers called out. They are all part of the same problem: Scream and howl about trump while avoiding any mention of the horrible crimes committed by the “Establishment”. There are just too many things wrong with this article to list all of them. Nobody knows what is going to happen in the future. The power of groups of people can be profound (“…the light shines into the darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not”.) The one thing everybody has to know is that the Trump candidacy and Presidency has revealed so many things to the public. The people now really can’t and don’t deny the corruption. Yep. Things are going to change because they have to. Nope. There are no guarantees about what it looks like on the other side.
