    The collapse of our financial and political system is in progress. These infrastructures are being taken out by natural events happening around the globe. Really; when one observes what is happening (most are not observing this) with the sun, events going on in our solar system, the numberous earthquakes caused by tectonic plate movements around the globe, volcanic activity, and all the violent storms destroying human infrastructure, along with exceptional cold weather in the northern hemephere, it is obvious we are transistioning into a more violent mother nature that will affect all our lifestyles.

    The technelogical infrastructure we created for central control and accounting of our economies around the globe, and political management of the masses was designed to operate within a calm environment; meaning fair weather. The ruling elite have created through technology their mechanism for one world order on their terms. And they have created their police forces with excessive force to maintain that order. Never before in the known history of this planet has such a mechanism of control over the masses been conceived and implemented.

    However, like everything in life all creations have a life cycle. Birth, adolescence, maturity, old age( the fruit rots), then death. It appears our system is in the rotting stage on its way to death. And mother nature is going to see this death through.

    2012? When modern astronomy, that was born from ancient astrology, dumped astrology the ancients were using to record events happening in the heavens and earth, they made a fatal mistake. Yes ancient astronomers looked at the progression of our gallaxy ( a 26,000 year cycle) and recorded all the activities going on in the heavens and the earth during the course of this cycle. Certain events happened that happens in cycles in this time frame. These events were turned into myths and passed on to future generations because all human history and learning is passed on by verbal instruction (stories) and this neverending story mechanism has been abandoned by our self centered modern civilization.

    So today we are and are going to experience some astounding earthshaking events that the ancients knew were coming in our age; and recorded, but we in our ignorance refuse to believe. The recent earthquake and tsumoni in Japan that took out the fukushema Nuclear Power plant was the result of a major tectonic plate movement; caused by the events now going on in our solar system. The sinking of many areas in indonesia including southern Java Island is the result of tectonic plate movement. Take a look at all the unexplained flooding going on as a result of this sinking. In the Book of Isaiah in the Bible it says God is going the shake the entire earth in the last days. Last days of what? The last days of the current 26,000 year cycle we are going through.

    So I am thinking my survival; based on information that the earth is going through a major destructive cycle that is going to take down our economic and political infrastructure, will be structured in that context. During this cycle gold and silver will be worthless. The Assyerians are going down.

    Based on the events of the day, one could say that May 21st, 2011 began it all. Defining the MOMENT of Collapse is a difficult thing. Maybe Collapse really began on November 22, 1963? Or perhaps it was on August 15th, 1971? Or perhaps it was on September 11th, 2001? Or perhaps the day I got my Wake Up Call, July 16th, 2007?

    IMHO, whatever the date it was that got the Collapse Rolling here in earnest, it is long since past already. If we get some major Geological Events occuring here, that is Icing on the Cake, but we are well on our way now down the Collapse Highway already. You cannot call the Collapse anymore, it already happenned.

    From here on in it is at best a gradual disintegration of everything we have known to be true in our lifetimes. It is likely this descent will be punctuated by ever bigger Black Swans, any one of which could be considered Doomsday. They are not. They are manifstations of a Doomsday that already came and went. There is no climbing back up out of this mess now, there is only at best The Long Emergency, as Jimmy Kunstler puts it. Unlikely though we smoothly devolve to anarchy without something REALLY BIG coming down the pipe. Something BIG is Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You. Predicting the DATE on that is a losing proposition, but the Writing is on the Wall. In fact it has been on the Wall since at least December 23, 1913.

    As usual I agree with RE. This is a slow moving train wreck that has been coming a long time and has some time to go. Like all historic empires (Rome, Britain, etc.) the fall is slow punctuated by black swan disasters. Everyone views it from their point of reference. My grandfather said it started with FDR. I first realized it in 1964, and for many years expected a big crash. After about twenty years I realized there is no crash, just a long slow rotting (emergency) with intermittent crisis and that you just have to adapt and adjust accordingly. The slide can not be stopped, so save yourself and your friends and family.

    What for? We already know we are doomed. Reminds me of the times of Noah when eveyone was making fun of the Ark until the water was up to their eyeballs.

    Don’t you think all these earthquakes and volcanos going off at this time is unusual? Don’t you think this unusual sun activity is odd or do you think it is just a passing event with no consequences? Have you looked up at the sun lately and noticed how intense it is? I have worked outside all my life and have never seen it this intense in my entire lifetime.

    RE you are a Prophet of doom and I have been reading about your ideas of a good doomstead to hold out in. Looks like we did not make it in the rapture of 5/21/2011 so what is the plan?

    I figure there has to be some kind of effect manifest on the Earth as we move into the plane of the Galactic Ecliptic. Though we don’t have any good comparative statistics to work with, anecdotally it sure appears there is a lot more Geologic activity going on as we get closer to the ecliptic. I would not be at all surprised to see more massive earthquakes in 2012.

    Increasing volume of ejecta from more volcanoes being active could also be a contributing factor to the wild weather patterns we have seen lately. There also may be some effect resultant from the rapidly migrating Magnetic Field of the Earth, which has upped its speed from an average of 4 mpy to 40 mpy.

    Earthquakes if they are persistent enough and widespread enough certainly will make current industrial civilization impossible, its just too expensive to keep rebuilding it. I have a picture in my head of the Nips JUST completing a massive Sarcophagus over Fuk-U-shima when POW it gets hit by a 10.0 Quake and turns the whole thing to rubble again. LOL.

    A sufficient Climate shift could make much of the earth unihabitable for people, but with just more volcanoes spewing out more ejecta, this probably would take a pretty long time to completely wipe us out. For a really MASSIVE and rapid shift, I think it takes a Super Volcano to blow. Best candidate appears to be Yellowstone, which is about 60,000 yers overdue on it cycle of eruptions I believe. My personal favorite to blow though is La Garita Caldera, the biggest Super Volcanic eruption of ALL TIME, which blew 5000 cu km of ejecta up into the atmosphere. That is roughly double what Toba put up 76,000 years ago, when the genetic diversity of Homo Sapiens was bottlenecked down to an estimated 10,000 Human Souls or 1000 Breeding Pairs.

    In the face of something like La Garita blowing off, to be one of those 10,000 people, you would have to be extraordinarily lucky and be in exactly the right place. If you have one of those Super Duper Illuminati Bunkers, this might enhance your survival chances. Not sure though how long exactly it would take the atmosphere to clear, and of course it could trigger off an Ice Age that lasts 50,000 years, so if your Bunker isn’t located near the Equator, you would have a long walk to get to a survivable location after your Preps ran out. On the other hand, if we get runaway Global Warming, your Bunker would be better situated here on the Last Great Frontier or in Siberia.

    The worst case scenario is where the increased acidity resultant from all the gases released by the Super Volcano sufficiently alters the pH of the Oceans, causing a masive die off of the phyto plankton. This would deplete the free Oxygen in the atmosphere, making all Animal Life impossible. That would be the Permian style Extinction Level Event of all higher organisms.

    So, since DOOM is inevitable, I pick the scenario which fits my Philosophy best :-) I don’t want a Permian Extinction, I want the Great Experiment that is Human Sentience to continue onward. Nor however do I want anything like the crappy Civilization we worked up on this go round to continue onward, so a Wipeout down to 10,000 Human Souls would give us a New Start and chance to Reboot here for a Better Tomorrow. It wold be nice if those 10,000 Human Souls were living in the Matanuska Susitna River Valley of Alaska also. LOL.
