Well we know she doesn’t have the gay vote. Now she’s lost the Catholic vote. At least she has the neo-con Christian fundamentalist crazy ass vote.
Bachmann’s Jeremiah Wright moment
Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann has some explaining to do after a report showing she once belonged to a church that believes the Pope is the Antichrist. Joshua Green, a writer at Atlantic Monthly, uncovered Bachmann’s association with a small Lutheran church in Minnesota whose official doctrine is highly critical of the Papacy. Read the Atlantic article here.
Bachmann evidently quit the church not long ago, perhaps once she decided to run for president. She reportedly submitted a request in writing.
The Minnesota congresswoman would not be the first politician to get into trouble from her religious affiliation. President Barack Obama, for instance, was sharply criticized during the 2008 election because of his longtime association with a Chicago reverend known for incendiary speeches critical of America. Obama later repudiated some of the teachings of his ex-reverend, Jeremiah Wright.
The association of Bachmann with an anti-papal church could hurt her ability to win over Catholic voters, a key swing group in elections. Yet the Catholic League said Bachmann has never shown any animosity toward Catholics.
“The Catholic League finds it regrettable that there are still strains of anti-Catholicism in some Protestant circles, but we find no evidence of any bigotry on the part of Rep. Michele Bachmann,” the league said in a statement. “Indeed, she has condemned anti-Catholicism.”
But just as President Obama was forced to explain his affiliation with Wright, the league also said “it is not inappropriate to ask some pointed questions of Rep. Bachmann and her religion’s tenets.”
Ironically, Obama warned Bachmann at the White House Press Association dinner earlier this year that she should expect questions about her past. “Michele Bachmann is here. She is considering running for president,” Obama said. “Which is weird, because I hear she was born in Canada. Yes, Michele, this is how it starts.”
In that case, the president was only joking. The Pope-as-Antichrist angle is no laughing matter.

We would be so much better off with religion totally gone. No dogma, no butt fucking priests, no fraud, no hate, no killing because someone believes differently than you do, no hiding child abuse by high officials, no madras schools to brain wash new suicide bombers, no hell, no heaven, nothing supernatural, no ghosts, extraterrestrials, a reduction in bullshit by 1000%.
Now to get rid of bankers and politicians.

It’s NOT that much of a stretch, actually, that her Church preaches that the Pope is the Antichrist. I have known pretty regular evangelical Christians (including a roommate) who have expressed that view, and quite seriously.
Bigargon has a point. Trying to exterminate religion leads to the worst excesses of totalitarianism. Still, I have to agree with Nietschze, Christianity has had a generally toxic influence on Europe, the Middle East, and everywhere else it has gone.

The Pope is not Nero
The Greek spelling, “Nerōn Kaisar”, transliterates into Aramaic as “נרון קסר”, nrwn qsr. The Aramaic spelling is attested in a scroll from Murabba’at dated to “the second year of emperor Nero.” [34] Adding the corresponding values yields 666, as shown:
Resh (ר) Samech (ס) Qof (ק) Noon (נ) Vav (ו) Resh (ר) Noon (נ) Sum
200 60 100 50 6 200 50 666

WTF?, This is not the 14th century and the pope today (along with his predecessors) walks far more strongly in the light than what I, and probably most other people, manage to do.
Bachmann is attacking the wrong target if the above article is accurate…
Shadows – If you think Christianity has a toxic effect, look at what Islam has done to those who “submit”… Quick name a first world Islamic country that does not sit on a mountain of oil…

Christians vs Catholics = Sunnis vs Shias
95% same doctrinal beliefs. The 5% difference cause each to accuse the Other as “Infidel!!”
Fucking ridicules.
This supposed issue won’t hurt Bachman. Obama’s pastor CLEARLY had a BID disdain for the white race. Did it hurt Obama? Nah. He just denied everything …. you know … 20 fucking years in the same goddamned church and he had NO idea Wright was a racist. Denial rules!

Christianity is not the reason Europe is successful. If Germany was Muslim, I suspect it would still be Europe’s leading nation, a fountain of science, and one of the world’s largest economies.
