QUOTE OF THE DAY

Where is the peace dividend that was supposed to come after the end of the Cold War? Where are the fruits of the amazing gains in efficiency that technology has afforded? It has been eaten by the bureaucracy that manages our every move on this earth. The voracious and insatiable monster here is called the Federal Code that calls on thousands of agencies to exercise the police power to prevent us from living free lives.

It is as Bastiat said: the real cost of the state is the prosperity we do not see, the jobs that don’t exist, the technologies to which we do not have access, the businesses that do not come into existence, and the bright future that is stolen from us. The state has looted us just as surely as a robber who enters our home at night and steals all that we love.

Writing this from the gym. Gotta be quick.

We have no power. We were told we “should” have power by Tuesday. That means Wed or Thursday.

More damage here than during the hurricane. Branch fell on my car .. dented the roof … crack in windshield from one side to the other.

Weird waking up in the morning and seeing your own breath. Even weirder trying to take a shit on an ice cold toilet. TMI !! Hundreds of dollars of food in the fridge / freezer. Fuck.

Have fun!! See y’all later in the week.

One big benefit of posting from the gym.

    Have a different IP address.

So, I was able to go back to the OWS shit fest thread and vote thumbs down on all of Smokey’s posts. A couple of them even turned red. Sweet!!

You should have bought a generator like Admin.

I had a tree just fall over and rip its roots out of the ground because of the weight of the snow. Lights flickered but never went out. We got about 7 inches. It is melting rapidly now.

You can get propane powered heaters at Wal-Mart for less than $90.

Funny shit. Just the image I need in my head Stuckey’s huge ass sticking to the toilet seat.

I’m in Orlando at a med conference. It’s a balmy 78. Really nice day.

Saw many cops on the way down here. This guy blew by me in Dodge SRT, with the viper engine, and I was cruising 95 in my Porsche turbo. Kept up with him for about a mile, then let him go. About 20 mins later, I drive by him. The cops got him and they were handcuffing him on the side of the highway. I slowed down for the rest of the trip. Then there was a bad wreck on 75 by Valdosta, an SUV his the wall and caught flames. Family of four was toasted alive.

Another day above ground and out of jail is good.

If you buy a propane heater or two, make sure they do not require electricity. the Torpedo style need to be plugged in, whether they are fuel oil or propane.

If the toilet seat is uncomfortably cold, get a piece of extruded styrofoam insulation (Dow blueboard or equivalent), cut to fit. This is the standard outhouse toilet seat in Alaska, proven to -60 F.

I can’t stand it. From 70 degrees to a foggy soup.

My balls are in their sockets.

As for Bonner, he’s great yet an ass clown some days. That quote is great…

    Wait… wait…

Sunshine! Just going to eat a hugeantic breakfast. Hey A-dubs! Should I hold the side of bacon with the chicken-fried steak and eggs?

Fuck that shit. I’m ordering it… the Jack and Pacificos is burning a hole in my stomach that needs to be plugged with some greasy pork products.

Here’s a quote snipt from an OWSNY article yesterday:

“The direct democratic process adopted by Occupy Wall Street has deep roots in American radical history. It was widely employed in the civil rights movement and by the Students for a Democratic Society. But its current form has developed from within movements like feminism and even spiritual traditions (both Quaker and Native American) as much as from within anarchism itself. The reason direct, consensus-based democracy has been so firmly embraced by and identified with anarchism is because it embodies what is perhaps anarchism’s most fundamental principle: that in the same way human beings treated like children will tend to act like children, the way to encourage human beings to act like mature and responsible adults is to treat them as if they already are.”
