WOMEN LOVE OBAMA!

Santorum dropped out today, and a new poll shows Obama beating Romney, most likely because he has a 19 point lead among women. One can only wonder why women prefer Obama. Any suggestions? Is it because the democratic party caters to minorities and women? Are there more women in the FSA than men? The answer to both questions is yes. Regardless, This is going to be the biggest piece of shit election in history (just when you think it can’t get any worse). There will be more lies about energy independence, jobs, our economic recovery, and no talk of the country-killing deficit, which will break through the debt ceiling just prior to the election. Mittens is about as exciting as getting bunions removed; he’s an empty suit, a bankster’s bankster. And I don’t know how our country can handle another four years of a lame-duck spendthrift race-baiting president without exploding. Another four years of record spending; increased entitlements and free shit for everyone. It all seems pretty hopeless to me. If this is the best our country can come up with, we deserve everything we’re going to get.

Obama Leads Romney in Poll That Shows 19-Point Gender Gap

By John McCormick | Bloomberg

A competitive, three-month primary campaign has left Mitt Romney damaged as he prepares for a likely general-election fight with President Barack Obama, a Washington Post-ABC News poll shows.

Obama, 50, holds advantages over Romney, 65, on personal attributes, even as the incumbent remains vulnerable among Americans concerned that the economic recovery is taking too long.

If a general election were held now, registered voters would divide 51 percent for the president and 44 percent for the former Massachusetts governor.

The end in near…
null

Obama is boosted by his support among women, a constituency that favors him by 19 percentage points over Romney. Among men, Romney has an 8 percentage point advantage. The two candidates are tied among independent voters, a group that can determine the winner of presidential elections.

General elections are fought on a state-by-state basis, so the national figures offer a general measure of the race and aren’t predictive of the outcome. The poll was taken April 5-8 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points on the full sample.
Health Care Advantage

Obama leads Romney on who would do a better job protecting the middle class, handling international affairs and terrorism, and dealing with health-care policy. The only issue tested where Romney did markedly better was on who would deal more effectively with the federal budget deficit.

Approval ratings? Who needs sticking approval ratings, I got women!
null

On economic issues, a potential match-UNN. between the two men is more competitive, with Obama holding a 3 percentage point advantage on who is best to create jobs and Romney holding a 4- point edge on who is best to handle the economy.

The poll shows Americans are split on the question of whether the economy is improving. Almost two-thirds said the country is headed in the wrong direction and one-third said rising gas prices have caused them “serious” hardship.

Obama will speak today in Florida at fundraising events as well as give an address on the “Buffett rule,” a proposal named after billionaire investor Warren Buffett that would boost tax rates paid by households with incomes between $1 million and $2 million, phasing them up to a 30 percent minimum tax rate for those making more than $2 million a year. Romney is scheduled to campaign later today in Delaware and Pennsylvania, where Republican primaries will be held April 24.

    Two thoughts:

    1) The state of the economy as of October 2012 will (not may) swing the election. Things will have to get pretty bad pretty quickly to turn things Romney’s way — doesn’t look like it will happen soon enough.

    2) Whoever wins in November 2012 is likely to become the new, ‘improved’ Herbert Hoover. Herbert, RIP, will finally be mostly forgotten in the aftermath. It is unlikely that the party represented by the 2012 ‘winner’ will survive in present form. It will probably be discredited, rejected and replaced by a new and possibly radical political philosophy.

I have a lot of respect for the prominent Republicans who refused to run this time — smart people, each and every one. They may have (deliberately?) positioned themselves to help pick up the pieces later on.

As perverse as it sounds, and I’m NOT gonna do it: In November 2012, vote FOR the guy you would like to see tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail!

Assuming these polls have ANY credibility, they essentially tell us that one guy (Obama) is much, much better at disguising his actions than the other (Mittens) is. If those numbers are credible (a big assumption) we have our ‘Teflon Prez’ to end all Teflon Prez’s.

Two bankster’s banksters. And plenty of kabuki theater debates coming right up to try and convince us that there are “real differences” between them. Joy….

    Abstract:
This paper examines the growth of government during this century as a result of giving women the right to vote. Using cross-sectional time-series data for 1870 to 1940, we examine state government expenditures and revenue as well as voting by U.S. House and Senate state delegations and the passage of a wide range of different state laws. Suffrage coincided with immediate increases in state government expenditures and revenue and more liberal voting patterns for federal representatives, and these effects continued growing over time as more women took advantage of the franchise. Contrary to many recent suggestions, the gender gap is not something that has arisen since the 1970s, and it helps explain why American government started growing when it did.

I keep hearing about they want to prevernt women from using birth control, getting mammograms, PAP smears and abortions. How are they doing that? Is Planned Parenthood the only place women can get these services? Do all these “woe is us” women I see on TV use Planned Parenthood? Why the hell did my wife go to a regular doctor or clinic and pay for her mammograms and PAP smears if she could have gotten it free at Planned Parenthood?

It’s not that women “love” Obama. It’s just that we perceive him as being rather less of a threat to reproductive and personal freedom than the Republicans. It’s is a choice between bad and worse.

It’s that they hate Romney worse, mainly because he has gone on record as opposed to reproductive freedom and is actively pandering to the Religious Right.

Reproductive freedom is THE central issue for women this election year, and the Republicans have lost the majority of us because they have decided to oppose even contraception.

This woman is not pleased with either remaining candidate, but there is no way I can vote for the party that believes it owns my uterus.

    Not Enough Inflation
    By PAUL KRUGMAN
    Published: April 5, 2012

A few days ago, Alan Greenspan, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, spoke out in defense of his successor. Attacks on Ben Bernanke by Republicans, he told The Financial Times, are “wholly inappropriate and destructive.” He’s right about that — which makes this one of the very few things the ex-maestro has gotten right in the past few years.
Fred R. Conrad/The New York Times

But why are the attacks on Mr. Bernanke so destructive? After all, nobody in America is or should be immune from criticism, least of all those — like the chairman of the Fed — who, by the nature of their positions, have immense power to make our lives better or worse. And while there is an unmistakable thuggishness to the campaign against the Fed, most famously Rick Perry’s warning that the Fed chairman would be treated “pretty ugly” if he visited Texas, surely the bad manners of the critics aren’t the most important issue.

No, the real reason the attacks on Mr. Bernanke from the right are so destructive is that they’re an effort to bully the Fed into doing exactly the wrong thing. The attackers want the Fed to slam on the brakes when it should be stepping on the gas; they want the Fed to choke off recovery when it should be doing much more to accelerate recovery. Fundamentally, the right wants the Fed to obsess over inflation, when the truth is that we’d be better off if the Fed paid less attention to inflation and more attention to unemployment. Indeed, a bit more inflation would be a good thing, not a bad thing.

    Cabinet career

In 1933 Roosevelt appointed Perkins as Secretary of the Department of Labor, a position she held for twelve years, longer than any other Secretary of Labor. She became the first woman to hold a cabinet position in the United States and thus, became the first woman to enter the presidential line of succession.

With few exceptions, President Roosevelt consistently supported the goals and programs of Secretary Perkins. In an administration filled with compromise, the president’s support for the agenda of Frances Perkins was unusually constant.
Frances Perkins wearing a veil following the death of President Roosevelt

As Secretary of Labor, Perkins played a key role in the cabinet by writing New Deal legislation, including minimum-wage laws. Her most important contribution, however, came in 1934 as chairwoman of the President’s Committee on Economic Security. In this post, she was involved in all aspects of the reports and hearings that ultimately resulted in the Social Security Act of 1935. On the day that bill was signed into law, her husband escaped from a mental institution.[11][13]

In 1939, she came under fire from some members of Congress for refusing to deport the Communist head of the west coast International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Harry Bridges. Ultimately, Bridges was vindicated by the Supreme Court.

Al Smith, a machine politician from the old school, was an early social reformer with whom Frances Perkins made common cause. At Smith’s funeral in 1944 two of his former Tammany Hall political cronies were overheard to speculate on why Smith had become a social crusader. One of them summed the matter up this way: “I’ll tell you. Al Smith read a book. That book was a person, and her name was Frances Perkins. She told him all these things, and he believed her.”

Following her tenure as Secretary of Labor, in 1945 Perkins was asked by President Harry Truman to serve on the United States Civil Service Commission, which she did until 1952, when her husband died and she resigned from federal service. During this period, she also published a memoir of her time in FDR’s administration called The Roosevelt I Knew, which offered a sympathetic view of the president.

Stucky, if you think Romney, who was the true author of the atrocious “ObamaCare” health plan that is based on MA’s “RomneyCare”, is going to do a single goddam thing to reverse the economic and fiscal trends of the past 30 years, or our Oil Wars in the ME, then YOU are the retard.

The Republicans have authored dozens of bills attacking reproductive freedom, and were it not for weak Democratic opposition, they all would have been passed.

The reason women are so obsessed with reproductive rights is not because we “think with our vaginas”, but because unplanned children are such a personal and ECONOMIC disaster. The little buggers cost not only a lot of money to raise and feed, but take up massive amounts of time that this woman would much rather commit to making money.

No control over your reproduction means no control over your finances or personal life. No contraception means living like a nun to avoid having your life wrecked by an unscheduled pregnancy.

Why don’t the fucking Republicans get THEIR heads out their retarded asses and drop their obsession with sex and reproduction. I used to be a supporter of the Republican party back when I believed that they supported economic and personal freedom, but now I know that they support neither.
You need to get your head our of YOUR ass. We will be fighting wars in the MENA countries as long as this country guzzles nearly 20 million barrels a day of the crap. The resource wars have unfortunately just begun.

The candidates are almost indistinguishable from each other in matters relating to fiscal and economic policy, and willingness to go to war. Face it, the United States is a rogue country that will take what it wants from whom it wants and that, during Republican Bush’s administration, announced it’s willingness to resort to nuclear weapons.

It probably does not matter who the president is, given the Congress we have and the willingness of the population, but if you seriously think that Romney is going to be any improvement on this spineless joker, then you’re the retard.

There’s no need to get snarky at Chicago for simply stating the way it is.

To get re-elected in 2012, Obama needs to lock in 2 demographics – women and the black community. Why do you think out of the blue the administration suddenly pushed for “free” preventative care for women? We all know it’s bullshit. There’s no such thing as “free” care. Doesn’t matter. He just guaranteed that demographic. As for the black vote, it sure puts the media hype surrounding the Zimmerman/Martin case into light, eh? Obama already has a lock on the Jewish vote, Gay/Lesbian vote, deceased citizen vote and convicted felon vote, so about the only other thing we might expect this summer if the poll numbers are too close is some sort of amnesty talk to lock in the illegal/Hispanic vote.

Simple answer – blatant, over-the-top, stone-age mysogyny. Women probably don’t like Obama so much as they are horrified by a party that declares openly its intention to return women to the “barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen” days.

I am male, so my perspective on this is not perfect, but anyone who can’t see that the extreme right-wing evangelical lunatic fringe has seized this party and is actively dragging it over the edge into the abyss has to be blind.

Romney’s chances are slim and none. The Republican party has alienated hispanics, blacks, gays, and now women. Sorry, but old, angry white men who resent the loss of their iron-fisted control over everyone else are not a large enough voting bloc to overcome that.

Don’t get me started on how woman in other countries are treated versus in the US. If you want to talk about a “war on women” you can start with:

    1) the treatment of women under Sharia Law,

    2) the genital mutilations common on the African/Indian continents,

    3) the honor killings practiced throughout the ME and India.

    4) the female infanticide I mentioned earlier,

    5) the general 3rd class status of women in the 3rd world generally, somewhere behind the goat/cow/camel/mercedez in status, depending on the country.

My PERSONAL favorite comes from that sad and wretched country formerly known as Great Britain. Here is where there are actual recordings of abortion providers in their wonderful government run health care talking about selectively aborting only female babies.

War on women? You betcha. Sorry, but it comes from the liberal/progessive lefties, the Left’s darlings in “tribal/tradional” socieites, Sharia Law, and oh, the communist regimes are really keen on killing women and children also.

This is the essential evil of moral relativism: It’s okay to be kill and abuse women and children if it is in the context of some political system.

No. It is NEVER right to kill and abuse human beings, NEVER NEVER NEVER.

God help us that there are followers of Obama that clearly believe otherwise.

So solly, but I don’t see any stoning or genital mutilations or honor killings being done by Judeo-Christian followers here in the US, your so-called religious right.

You want to talk about misogyny? How about the attacks on Sarah Palin and her daughters by the lefties during the 2008 election? How about the calling of Laura Ingram a “talk show slut”?

Tthe use of the words “cunt” and “twat” by Bill Maher? How about the tirades of Ketih Olbemann against Michelle Bachmann? I think he called her a “meat sack” and there were some references to her breasts, but frankly, it was so awful I’ve blocked out most of it.

Here is a homework assignment: Please contrast and compare the language used by the left-leaning media versus the right leaning media in describing female political candidates.

DHS Raids Home To Seize Deadly Hair Straighteners
    April 10, 2012 by POPEYE

INFOWARS) Federal agency founded to fight terrorism continues war on grooming appliances. The Department of Homeland Security, a federal agency created in the aftermath of 9/11 to fight terrorism, has continued its war on potentially deadly grooming appliances by raiding a home in the affluent Orange County city of Laguna Niguel to seize allegedly counterfeit hair straighteners.

“About 10 investigators with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and special ICE Homeland Security Investigations agents combed through the garage and the single-story house in the 29500 block of Pelican Way near Niguel Road and Alicia Parkway,” reports the Orange County Register. According to the feds, the American people need to be protected from the threat of counterfeit hair straighteners because they could pose a safety hazard to consumers.

The owners of the business that sold the product, Brisk Deals, labeled the incident a “misunderstanding,” adding that the feds conducted the raid as if they were targeting armed terrorists, not dodgy hair irons.

“They attacked the house like they thought we had guns, like we’re a gang or gun-running or something,” said UCI electrical engineering graduate student Mohsen Rafizaden, accusing the DHS of causing his mother to have a panic attack for which she was taken to hospital.

The affidavit against the business claims that the hair straighteners violate trademarks held by Chi Curling Irons and GHD. The fact that the house was the target of a terrorist-hunting style siege over hair appliances illustrates how far the Department of Homeland Security has overstepped its jurisdiction.

Let’s not forget last month’s proud announcement on behalf of the DHS that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) had stopped 13,000 potentially unsafe hair dryers from entering the country.

Just because Ann Coulter has her father’s adams apple doesn’t mean she isn’t spot on about how the majority of women vote.

Ann Coulter had this to say to the New York Observer:

“If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.

“It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it’s the party of women and ‘We’ll pay for health care and tuition and day care — and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?’”

Update – I just stumbled upon this quote, on the same subject:

I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote. No, they all have to give up their vote, not just, you know, the lady clapping and me. The problem with women voting — and your Communists will back me up on this — is that, you know, women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend it. And when they take these polls, it’s always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care.”

I didn’t support the swarmy, hope-filled, professional speaker, the first time, so I sure as hell wouldn’t support him this time.

Every human is a combination of “female brain”/”male brain” and due to hormones generally women are more “female” brained and men more “male.” But not always and our environment is actually creating more feminine-thinking males too.

Hope chose to go into a male dominated industry. Hope’s opinions don’t (usually) fit nicely into NOWs organizational and thought structure. My guess is Hope is more “man” brained, than “female.”

So am I. Back in college I took a few tests for the psych department that showed me that I am nearly 50/50 in both left/right brain dominance and male/female brain dominance, which means I don’t think the same way most women do.

Which explains why I prefer to hang out with shit throwing monkeys than women at HuffPo or OWN.

The reason there are clueless women like Chicago is simple, the media isn’t (hasn’t/won’t) spend any time reporting on the REAL issues, problems and coming tsunami of pain.

So it is easy for the clueless (and well fed, and hormonally imbalanced thanks to meds, water supply and food) to miss the big picture.

I want the government the hell out of my uterus too. Voting for Obama means MORE involvement, not less.

Maybe if the nightly news went back to reporting on body bags, casualties, military actions, jailings of citizens and reality in general, more women would quit worrying about the government paying $25 a month for b.c. pills.

Women tend to think the world should be “fair,” nice ideal that fails miserably in the real world.

Life isn’t fair. Your “free” and “protected” benefits mean forced theft and fewer choices for the rest of us. How is that fair?

Guess what fellow women, life ain’t fucking fair. Choices are not always made between two optimal choices. And asking the government to give you something costs more than you could ever imagine.

As I said (time and again) during his first election, it is nearly impossible to fight “hope,” especially misguided, charismatic, hope.

Glad to see nothing has changed.

Stucky, they need to hold raids like that to make Americans immune to that kind of activity in their hometowns, neighborhoods, the house-next-door. It’s the best way to get people accustomed to a police state, where any one can be taken at any time, for any reason. If they hold enough senseless raids, people will just assume it’s a joke and stop paying attention. After awhile, there won’t be any outcry, as everyone considers it “normal.” Hangman’s poem, indeed.

As for the rest of this discussion, when did this blog’s readers get blindsided by the Left-vs-Right, men-vs-women, Democrat-vs-Republican false paradigm. Come on, we know better than that. WOMEN VOTE!

This election cycle there was a lot of talk about women voters.

But here at EMILY’s List, we did a lot more than just talk about women voters. We talked to them, we learned from them, and we mobilized them — because we knew that women voters are often the deciding factor in the outcome of elections. Women voters tend to favor Democratic candidates, so when women vote, Democrats win. But when they stay home, as they did in 1994, Republicans win.

So, to harness the power of women voters, in 1995 EMILY’s List launched WOMEN VOTE! — our nationwide voter mobilization program that integrates sophisticated research, advanced information technology, and old-fashioned grassroots organizing to turn out women voters for pro-choice Democratic women candidates and the entire Democratic ticket.

And in this election, like every election, we add to our growing data bank of knowledge about women voters.

Because a single-payer system eliminates the profits that drive up the costs, Wall Street, Insurance companies, and “free market economists” hate a “socialized” medical care system. They prefer a socialized “private” health care system in which public monies flow into private insurance companies.

To make the costs as high as possible, conservatives and the private insurance companies devised ObamaCare. The bill was written by conservative think tanks and the private insurance companies. What the “socialistic” ObamaCare bill does is to take income taxes paid by citizens and use the taxes to subsidize the private medical premiums charges by private health care providers in order to provide “private” health care to US citizens who cannot afford it.

The extremely high costs of ObamaCare is not “socialistic medicine.” ObamaCare is high-cost privatized medicine that guarantees billions of dollars in profits to private insurance companies. -Paul Craig Roberts

Paul Craig Roberts gets it. Obombya is not a socialist, neither are the democrats, or their across the aisle butt feelers, who claim to care about life and why my moniker of “Kill [the Obamacare] Bill”

Who’s willing to take the pledge? Let me know….

    I AM NOT A SLUT!

Contrary to popular belief, I will not sleep around with just anyone, and I have the pledges to prove it!

In addition to my pledges not to have sex with Republicans or anyone who doesn’t support health care reform, I also have these:

I PLEDGE never to have sex with anyone who doesn’t believe in human-caused global warming. Those of you deniers who laugh at and mock those of us who believe, as Al Gore said, that it is Our Choice to answer the call to save the planet now, will find out just how foolish your own choice is when you can no longer find anyone willing to join you in the joy you’ve gotten all these millions of years out of burdening an already overburdened planet with ever more polluting humans.

I PLEDGE never to have sex with anyone who bought Sarah Palin’s book or otherwise supports her in any way. Her frightening rise to power, without benefit of affirmative action, Ivy League education, compelling life story involving poverty and public housing, or even being some philanderer’s wronged wife/widow, has only stopped the entire feminist movement in its tracks, placing it in grave danger of becoming obsolete or worse, as extinct as the polar bears! A Palin supporter is clearly dead set against women, so why would I want to have sex with someone who’s against my sex?

I PLEDGE never to have sex with anyone who owns a gun. My mama, Yelling Yelena, told me guys like that never shoot blanks, and if they can’t aim or control the trigger, the damn thing could go off and scatter shot everywhere but the target.

I PLEDGE never to have sex with anyone who watches Fox News or listens to talk radio. If you’re just another slack-jawed helpless, clueless dumbass who needs someone to tell you what to think, then it clearly follows you’ll need someone to tell you what to do when it comes to pleasing me in bed. And I’m damned if I’m going to be the one to do it. That’s what the government is for.

I PLEDGE never to have sex with someone who believes in abstinence and saving it for “that special someone” even if they tell me I’m that special someone. Talk about oppression. As a Prog, I should be able to make that choice for myself! Besides, anyone with half a brain will tell you that sexual abstinence of ANY kind in ANY degree is totally unrealistic and an utter joke— young people are going to do it anyway no matter what. All those abstinence-only classes (Christofascist indoctrination if you ask me) and hokey promise rings and t-shirts are nothing but meaningless little feel good gimmicks that are poor substitutes for a good old-fashioned novelty condom!

As I said, comrades, not just anyone. I am picky and selective and choosy. In fact, I’ll bet you’re in awe that any man has ever gone all the way with me at all!

Coulter should LOVE privatized Obama health care yet she runs amok claiming it isnt, Seems to me she actually helped Obamacare instead of trying to kill it. Stupid is as stupid pundit does.

I never claimed Mcveigh was catholic or any other religion, in fact he CANT be a christian or a catholic while professing to be a follower of Jesus while committing a horrific act against innocent people that had nothing to do with Waco.

The thing about those women who voted for Obama is that they’re usually high maintenance…the ones you see walking in the high end malls, wearing name-branded miniskirt and other show-off-all-their-legs, “fashionable” outfit, wearing expensive perfume…etc, you know, whatever you think off a urban rich woman. Those types usually have an extensive university education, thus bought into all the psuedo-liberal bullcrap our universities spoon fed them.
