“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – forever.”George Orwell

The future has arrived. Stories like the one below are now common. They will be the norm within the next five years. The government grows in power and does not care about individual rights or liberties. We’ve become the dystopian society that Orwell envisioned. Welcome to the machine.

Daniel Chong Drank Urine To Survive 5 Days In Holding Cell Without Food, Water

Update: The Drug Enforcement Administration has apologized to Danny Chong after he spent five days in a holding cell without food, water or a toilet, the LA Times reported.

“I extend my deepest apologies [to] the young man and want to express that this event is not indicative of the high standards that I hold my employees to,” William Sherman, special agent in charge of the San Diego division of the DEA, said in a statement. He added that he has ordered “an extensive review” of DEA procedures.

Earlier:

An innocent California student was placed in a holding cell after his buddy’s house was raided by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and ended up spending nearly five days in his dark prison without food, water or human contact.

Danny Chong, 24, had been told that he was going to be released on April 20 — the same day he was detained — because he wasn’t charged with any crime.

Officers reportedly forgot about him. He told NBC that he was forced to drink his own urine for hydration and ended up carving his own flesh with glass in a fit of psychosis.

“I had to do what I had to do to survive,” he told the station on Tuesday. “I was completely insane.”

Chong’s horrific — and accidental — stay in the dark holding cell began on April 20, when agents raided a home that Chong where hanging out near UC San Diego. DEA officials said they found some 18,000 ecstasy pills at the home, but that Chong wasn’t involved. He was brought in for questioning, but never formally arrested or charged, according to U-T San Diego.

He was supposed to leave his detention the same day. One officer even offered him a ride home.

But he was forgotten inside his 5-foot-by-10-foot, windowless enclosure.

He kicked, screamed and cried as the days passed. He could hear DEA agents on the other side of his heavy door, but they apparently couldn’t hear him. He didn’t have food, water or a bathroom.

At one point Chong went so “insane” he broke his glasses with his teeth and carved “Sorry Mom” into his arm.

By day five — when corrections officers finally heard Chong’s screams for help — he’d been hallucinating and even attempted to eat broken glass, NBC reported.

When agents finally found Chong, he was incoherent and had to be taken to the hospital, according to the Associated Press. He was treated for a perforated lung — an injury consistent with someone who has eaten glass.

The student’s lawyer compared his detention to the famous Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Chong is considering filing a civil lawsuit against the DEA.

The DEA maintains that the incident was accidental and isolated, but hasn’t elaborated.

When I heard about this yesterday, my first thought was, “who’d thunk that ‘detaining’ innocent civilians could have a bad liberty outcome?”

I wish this shocked me. Routinely, in prisons across this “great” land, prisoners are treated inhumanely and many die.

If said prisoners were all child molesters, rapists and murderers, I’d say (to myself) “good riddance to bad rubbish.”

Sadly, the truth is usually those that this happen to are young, mentally challenged and in prison for bogus morality crimes or older and ill and stressed to the point of death.

The sheep feel safer though, the religious right feels justified in their “control” of morality, the unions get their bloated pay and pensions and the judges/lawyers get rich.

    So it’s all good. Right?

And we still have the balls to go into other countries and lecture them about civil rights and liberty.

This reminds me of all the “disappeared” that happened in Argentina i 1976 to 1983. Go read about it. Thousands of people just vanished after being “detained” by the federal authorities, never to be seen again.

Argentina’s history during the 20th century is probably a good primer for what is facing the US, proving, once again, that HISTORY IS PROPHECY.

U.S. Troops Fully Armed Patrolling Neighborhood Streets – by Joel McDurmon on May 2, 2012

    Troops-in-street-Crookston-MN.jpg

And you though “battlefield USA” was just a catchphrase used to demonize the NDAA and the NDRP executive order. Ha.

The photo shown above was taken by a subscriber in the city of Crookston, MN from the front porch of her suburban home. No, the men pictured aren’t from the local high school’s J.R.O.T.C sqaud – they are in fact trained soldiers serving in the Minnessota National Guard, Unit 2-136 CAB / B Company. Now, I have never personally been to Crookston (although I’m sure it’s lovely), but I’m relatively confident that they are located on domestic soil, and unless I am missing something, the citizens of Crookston weren’t dealing with any natural disaster at the time this haunting snapshot into the coming police state was taken.

No, what was actually going on that morning was a “training exercise” involving a quiet neighborhood that probably isn’t that different from your own. Being the patriot that she is, Maggie decided it might be a good idea to start asking some questions. Nothing too difficult, mainly just what the hell they were doing walking fully armed down a street regularly used to facilitate the innocent pastimes of all American kids.

Glancing at her briefly one Soldier responded, “Just training Ma’am. Joining up with another patrol at the rally point.”

Not accepting this as a reasonable answer to her inquiry, Magge went on, “Oh, ok. What are you training on the streets of town for exactly?”

At that the young soldier replied, “To be honest ma’am, I don’t know.”

The reason for his domestic training exercise that morning might be unknown to him, but sadly this is not only just another indicator of the uncertain times ahead, but also a revealing indicator of how worried the Feds are of a possible outbreak of civil insurrections across the nation.

I figured as much, I think I didn’t make my post very clear :-/

What I meant is that most of the time when troops are “patrolling” on home turf (ie: American neighborhoods) they are respectful enough of the residents to keep off of the road, and out of people’s way if possible.

Despite all that I wouldn’t be worried about this unless seeing men in BDUs on patrol in suburbia becomes a common thing.

“As he looked round, he saw the top floor of the building next to the quarry. He saw how a light flickered on and the two halves of a window opened out, somebody, made weak and thin by the height and the distance, leant suddenly far out from it and stretched his arms out even further. Who was that? A friend? A good person? Somebody who was taking part? Somebody who wanted to help? Was he alone? Was it everyone? Would anyone help? Were there objections that had been forgotten? There must have been some. The logic cannot be refuted, but someone who wants to live will not resist it. Where was the judge he’d never seen? Where was the high court he had never reached? He raised both hands and spread out all his fingers.

But the hands of one of the gentleman were laid on K.’s throat, while the other pushed the knife deep into his heart and twisted it there, twice. As his eyesight failed, K. saw the two gentlemen cheek by cheek, close in front of his face, watching the result. “Like a dog!” he said, it was as if the shame of it should outlive him.”

I think martial law is and has been in place for quite some time. Cops are no longer civilians and they are under no obligation whatsoever to guarantee or protect civilian constitutional rights. Quite the contrary as it seems. They’ve chosen their side and it is the same side as the other treasonous bags of shit and water currently inhabiting the District of Criminals. They are as guilty of treason as Rumsfeld or Cheney or AG Holder or any of the rest, their fate should be the same as traitors throughout history.

What If A Collapse Happened And Nobody Noticed?

    http://hipcrime.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/what-if-collapse-happened-and-nobody.html

So then why is the collapse occurring? Is it all about debt, as we’ve been led to believe? Or is it about something else?

Imagine if you were the leader of one of the world’s major industrial nations, with millions of people, economies worth trillions, and huge armies at your command. Now imagine that your top generals and admirals have briefed you and told you that the fundamental substances underlying modern industrial civilization were running out. That there would be shortages. Scarcity. Resource wars. Dwindling food supplies. Decreased industrial output. A shrinking tax base. Insurrection. What would you do? Panic? Or would you do exactly what world leaders are doing right now: using economic policies to shrink the economy to a lower level and cause a slow die-off? Claim that “there is no alternative”, and that once “confidence” is restored, things will be back to normal? Consider:

Last year two military planning organizations went public with studies predicting that serious consequences from oil depletion will befall us shortly. In the U.S. the Joint Forces Command concluded, without saying how they arrived at their dates, that by 2012 surplus oil production capacity could entirely disappear and that by 2015 the global shortfall in oil production could be as much as 10 million b/d. Later in the year a draft of a German army study, which went into greater detail in analyzing the consequences of peaking world oil production, was leaked to the press. The German study which was released recently is unique for the frankness with which it explores the dire consequences which may be in store for us.

And see this: Energy Security: an annotated military/security bibliography (2010 update) (Energy Bulletin)

Of course, to assuage the public’s anger, governments will promise an imminent return to normalcy. What they mean is, slow collapse down to a slow enough pace that it is less noticeable. And they’ve been saying this for four years already. Want to bet they’ll be saying it four years from now? And four years after that?

Once things did “stabilize” everything would return to a sort of normal and you would be considered a hero by the public. And things will look great, because people only judge things in contrast with the immediate past, not decades before. And in relative terms, after years of “austerity”, things will be “recovering.” Temporarily at least, until the next crisis hits. But by that time you hope there will be another sucker sitting in the White House, or 10 Downing Street, or the Élysée Palace while you spend your retirement skiing in Zurich or sunning yourself in Monaco. And the cycle begins again. Your family members, as “elites,” will be unaffected, of course. Debts can be cancelled. It’s just the excuse they need.

Really, austerity makes no sense otherwise. As Steve Keen put it in a recent interview, “they think causing an accelerated economic collapse will make it easier to pay their debts.” Indeed. Even some of the world’s most renowned economists have declared such policies insane. If even Nobel-prize winning economists think it’s crazy, then why are governments doing it? But these economists are in the main, ignorant of Peak Oil, willingly or unwillingly. They can only think in terms of reactivating “growth” in a Keynesian sense. But based on the above, it’s clear world leaders know that’s not going to happen. What other reason could there be? After all, capitalism requires growth, and only after enough is destroyed can growth begin again. Is what we are witnessing now not a slow destruction? Austerity is a wildfire set by the political/banking elite classes to get rid of the underbrush and start anew.

Well damn…..I’ll guess, I’ll just have to make to do with embracing the cold left-over doom ’till Monday.
Shit this will be along week-end.
Maybe RE could drop by and entertain us with potlatch barter survival stories ’till then…

BTW, I just saw the blog from excerpt I posted above came from , but the blogger amkes an interesting point about safety in rural areas that I tend to agree with.
He believes that security in cities will be preferable over what he terms lawless rural areas , due to a high number of smart people pooling their resources…I tend to agree. We in rural areas are scattered too far and wide to be of much assistance in an emergency such as gang raiding persons showing up to pillage your property amongst other things.
But, still I wouldn’t trade one acre of green grass for 60 blocks of concrete.. Que Sera Sera

Back, Oh, 45 years ago, when I was in Viet Nam, I knew a Marine who made a big production out of cutting another link off his short-timer’s chain. He went home–to Detrloit–just in time for his reserve unit to be activated for the Detroit riots. He was back to our unit in less than 60 days. I asked him what happened. He told me that you just do not undersgtand the meaning of scared until you walk down the street your grew up on, in full combat gear, yelling at the top of your lungs “Don’t shoot, it’s me, Frankie”. The fact that he was a black guy is immaterial to the facts of the situation, other than he wasn’t a white target, he was just a “target”, and he knew it.

Read the book “the planned destruction of America” It will make things more clear that are happening now. Scary book but factual and well researched.
