As of last Sunday, 184 people have been murdered in Detroit this year. That’s about one murder per day. Philly can top that. We have 192 murders year to date. We’re tracking 25% higher than 2009 YTD. This could be our year. We need to pick up the pace to break our record of 391 in 2007.

    Thinker beat me to it. The south and west sides of my hometown of Chicago are basically war zones right now. And I get kind of pissed that these frickin gang bangers can’t seem to hit what they are aiming for. It is always some random kid in the vicinity who seems to get shot. I think the safest place to be is to have them aiming for you. Maybe get them some range time, so they can just kill each other off, make the problem its own solution.

    @Thinker: Chicago’s population (city only) is around 2.7M. YTD murders per million people:

    Killadelphia: 125.8
    Chicago: 101.8
    DETROIT: 258

    I think they need to put “murdercams” in Detroit, St. Louis, Camden, Philly, Chicago, and every other murder capital shithole. Add it onto satellite and cable TV bills, and have 24/7 channels running where we get to watch the FSA and perps gun each other down. The ultimate reality T.V.

    I go to gun shows and the range at least once a week. I hardly ever see any thug looking pieces of shit at either. Most of them can’t hit the broadside of a barn.

    When the SHTF I would like to sit off in the distance with one of my rifles with a silencer and pick the dirt bags off one at a time.

    My area Fort Myers Fl. is having it’s share of murders also but they are all in the dark side of town. These fucks just love AK-47′s and it takes them a whole clip to barely kill someone. Hell 2 rounds max and job finished. We have a great sheriff, definitely not PC, said it’s all happening in the predominantly black area of town. Guess who bitched about that? NAACP.

    Sorry to say, slavery has been gone now since 1865. Between 1865 and now is 147 years which works out to roughly a bit over 70 generations. The “black situation” just keep getting worse (spotty but really bad where it does happen) so it has to be a vast white supremacy plot that goes on and on and on for almost 200 years.

    Every black intellectual out there (there aren’t a lot of them – but there are some really great ones like Bill Cosby and Walter Williams and Du Bois and Thomas Sowell to name only a few) blames black people for perpetuating their own predicament. Every one of them.

    A culture of “poor me, I’m black and have been suppressed 170 years ago so I need to be taken care of now” is growing very old with me. I know why it happens which is well documented – blacks have a lower IQ than anyone else on a racial basis. IN order of IQ, Asians rank 1st, Western Europeans 2nd, Eastern Europeans 3rd, Hispanics 4th, blacks 5th. One cannot make a judgement on individuals, of course, since they’re all over the park from genius to cement but so are members of other races. But on a race wide basis, blacks IN GENERAL are less intelligent and consequently suffer along at the bottom of the educational and economic ladder – AND WILL ALWAYS DO SO until someone invents a smart pill.

    But, of course, we can’t even begin to address the problem because merely mentioning it and the facts associated with it will bring out the nuts and bolts of the black race (Jackson, Sharpton, et al) to scream “RACISM”, which, of course it isn’t. Science isn’t racist. It seeks (when honestly applied) only one thing: the truth.. There are scientists and laypersons who have always used science as a cudgel to whomp the opposition by cherry picking data.

    But honestly used, it would open up vistas of what could really be done to mitigate the “black problem” by recognizing, tackling and working on the reality of the problems of our current school systems and those black students who just don’t get it.

    My late mother used to say, back in the ’70s, that my native Detroit would eventually be a ghost town after the inhabitants killed each other off. Her views were influenced by our having shopped the Dexter-Davidson area only hours before the riots of ’67 engulfed it. I recall being 5 y/o and watching the sky turn pink while sitting on the back porch that evening.
    That said, I went to school and worked there for many years, went out to dinner, clubs and sporting events, etc., at night, had family, friends and dates who lived in the city, and never had any trouble unless I went looking for it (as 20-something males are occasionally wont to do). Detroit’s crime differs from Orlando’s, Chicago’s or any other of our dying cities only (perhaps) in degree, not in character. Detroit has been a national whipping boy for decades, but it is hardly unique, except in the speed with which it has fallen and in the depths of that descent.
    One final thought: Every time my car has broken down in Detroit, it’s been a black person, not one of the white people speeding by, who has stopped to help me. Of the three times that come to mind, I rec’d help w/o harm, being hit up for money, etc. Just help. (And I am as white as Casper the Friendly Ghost.)

    Muck, a generation is generally considered to be 30 years, so 147 = 5 generations (not 70). Unless you ment 7 generations (using 20 yr generations). Just saying.

    I had a conversation re blacks and the IQ issues with my son about a week ago. I mentioned the lower IQs of blacks, and he responded (surprise surprise) that the tests must be biased, that it must reflect their lower socio-economic upbringing and lack of family structure, etc. I said, yes, that is the standard retort. Or it could be a simpler answer – that they as a race they simply have lower IQs, possibly as a result of natural election based on their geographic origins. It is politically correct to think that all races have the same generic IQs. Fact is, that does not seem to be the case, much as liberals want it to be. But it isn’t acceptable to talk about the facts. If the facts cannot be discussed, how can the issues really be addressed?

    to be fair to Muck – the years considered standard to a generation are changing – commonly is 20-22 years, but is going up now that women’s age of giving birth has increased significantly. That age is a generation – if women give birth for the first time at 20, 20 years is a generation. If they give birth at 30, 30 years is a generation.

    @llpoh: I used 20 year generational calculations and research figures and dropped a decimal point. Thanks for the correction. 7 versus 70. Still long enough to eliminate a cultural fable of equal IQ’s regardless of race.. In fact, it varies within race. In general the closer to the equator you are, the lower the general IQ of the indigent population. Works the same way in the Western Hemisphere as in Africa and the Pacific. (and the Med.)..

    I just wish we pay attention to the facts and stop worshiping falsehoods so we can discuss real world solutions to the actual problem. As long as it stays the way it is, no progress will be made.

    But of course, the Jacksons and Sharptons of the world must have persecution and bias in the equation in order to drum up sufficient hatred and discontent to profit therefrom.

    GreasedUpWillie …..I’m starting a charity called “Laser Sights For Gang Bangers” . We will donate Crimson Trace laser sights that they can attached to their illegal Glocks. Perhaps over time only thugs will be shot and not innocent by standers. Think of it as Inner-City Darwinism being given a boost .
