    God Almighty, it has gotten so bad that Russian media is more truthful than here. My Dad said many years ago, “Some day Russia will be like us and we will be like Russia”. He was right again over 40 years ago. Not looking with enthusiasm for what’s coming down the road here in th FSA.

    It’s generally true that a country’s press is not fully truthful on domestic stories – it’s just that here in the US we long thought we were an exception, and the media distortion was not nearly so blatant. I’ll bet you can get more accurate Russian news in London than in Moscow. (Perhaps not more accurate in the US though.)

    Some of the best coverage of US news is in the London newspapers.

    Good call. I’ve been to a lot of places in the world, but Italy has “some of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen” as the line goes in Pitbull’s song, “International Love.” Pitbull was referring to women in Colombia, but that’s close enough. Latinas are Latinas.

    As for Italy’s declining population, don’t know what’s going on with Italian men. Best guess, and I got this from a very reliable source codenamed flash, is that the CIA set up a program after WWII to vaccinate Italian men with a special “swim blocker.” It’s been very successful, according to flash, in that NO Italian male has ever won a single Olympic medal in any swimming category since WWII.
