The liberal do gooders that want to control every single aspect of your lives are calling for a ban on guns because of the Colorado massacre. Well, more people were killed in a single pickup truck crash yesterday. If you use the same rationale, we should ban all pickup trucks since they are truly a danger to anyone driving in them. Maybe we should ban driving all together.
Authorities: 13 dead after truck crashes in Texas
GOLIAD, Texas — A pickup truck overloaded with passengers veered off a highway and crashed into trees in rural South Texas, killing at least 13 people and leaving 10 injured, authorities said.
Border Patrol was assisting in the investigation into the Sunday evening crash in Goliad County, about 150 miles northeast of the border with Mexico. It was not immediately clear if those involved were illegal immigrants.
Gerald Bryant, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said at least 23 passengers were crammed inside the truck’s cab and bed, including at least two young children whom he saw among the dead.
“This is the most people I’ve seen in any passenger vehicle, and I’ve been an officer for 38 years,” Bryant said, referring to the chaotic scene in Goliad County. He said it was one of the state’s most serious accidents in his time.
The driver was among the 11 found dead at the scene, Bryant said, adding that investigators were trying to confirm his name.
The white 2000 Ford F-250 pickup was heading north on U.S. 59 when it drove off the right side of the highway near the unincorporated community of Berclair and struck two large trees, Bryant said. Berclair is about 90 miles southeast of San Antonio.
The truck was registered in Houston to someone other than the driver, Bryant said.
A DPS accident reconstruction team was investigating the accident, but Bryant said it could be another week or two before it is concluded. U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents were working to confirm the identities of the victims and investigate the possible human smuggling.
“It’s unknown whether or not (the victims) were illegal, but it’s possible,” Bryant told the AP.
Adrian Fulton, a funeral director at Victoria Mortuary Services where 11 of the bodies were taken, said representatives from the Mexican Consulate were on the scene Sunday night.
Authorities initially said 11 people had died. Early Monday, Department of Public Safety dispatcher Cynthia Duffield in San Antonio said another two had died at hospitals overnight.
Such overloaded vehicles are not uncommon as smugglers of illegal immigrants try to maximize profits moving their loads north from the Texas-Mexico border. In April nine Mexican immigrants died near the border when the teenage driver of their van crashed after fleeing Border Patrol. There were 18 people in that minivan.
Six of those who died in the crash Sunday evening were still inside the mangled vehicle when emergency crews arrived at the scene, Bryant said.
“It’s been very chaotic here, and it’s very traumatic,” Bryant told the San Antonio-Express News.
He told The Associated Press that several of the surviving victims had life-threatening injuries. He did not have their official conditions but described them as “very serious.” The injured were taken to hospitals in San Antonio, Victoria and Corpus Christi.
A Goliad County sheriff’s spokesman did not immediately return a message left by the AP.

No, they should ban illegal aliens, and this wouldn’t have happened.

Illegal Aliens Scam Tax Refunds
For years, American taxpayers have been shelling out $4.2 billion dollars per year to pay for a scam.
A report by the Inspector General found that some 2 million illegal immigrants have been receiving large tax refunds by pretending that numerous dependents live with them … when, in fact, most of the dependents live in Mexico and have never lived in the United States.
Once whistleblowers called attention to this problem, their IRS bosses told them to ignore the fraud and look the other way:

Yes we should.
Then we need to ban water, especially lakes and pools, people drown every single day in this country.
Then we need to ban fire, people die by fire.
Then we need to ban ball point pens, if I want you dead bad enough, my handy-dandy, perfect-legally, ballpoint will do a great job at it.
The liberals and government have been completely unable to disarm ONE illegally armed thug in this country, yet somehow I am to believe that by creating criminals out of law-abiding, hard-working, family-oriented citizens (you know, like our wonderful drug laws have done) that I’ll be safer??????
WTF are people smoking?
How will taking my gun, from a person that has never pointed it at anyone that wasn’t threatening me, going to make anyone else safer? It sure as hell won’t make me, nor my daughter, safer.
Australia’s violent crime rate INCREASED after enacting their ban. Why can’t anyone understand what this means?
The criminals and crazies will still have guns and bullets, they will just keep buying them from the same black (untaxed) market they get them from today.
My dad will be left defenseless in his own home.
Impossible to regulate crazy, he could have just as easy used him bombs and killed 100 instead of shooting and killing less.
He could have plowed his car into the crowd as they emerged after the showing.
He could have gotten a katana sword and beheaded a few dozen.
He could have blocked the doors and set a fire.
How would another law creating criminals out of innocent, change a freaking thing?
Our society is overwhelmingly lazy, stupid, unable to critically reason, drugged by their docs, frustrated by lack of opportunity and being incarcerated at ever greater percentages and we ARE NO FUCKING SAFER.
More of the same won’t change that. But, what the hell, let’s never look to fix actual root problems.
At least with enough silver, bling or fiat I should still be able to go into Detroit and get more ammo/arms once all the idiots consent to being disarmed.
Stunning in our ignorance of the real world and human psychology, just simply stunning.

I think what will eventually happen is not an outright ban on guns, not yet, (obama needs the votes of those sitting on the fence) but more TSA type searches at all public events.
Go to a mall, a sporting event, a restaurant, schools, local government meeting, etc, expect and submit to a pat down or a x-ray scan, throw in some random background checks, turn in your neighbors for some cheese, throw a few innocents in jail for some fear factor, and why not? We got the NDAA on the books now.
All done for our security you know.
If obama is elected, third year, total gun ban, fourth year we elect him king.

Muck About says:
Any weeping and gnashing of teeth on behalf of banning guns is for one purpose only.. Try and make political points with those who are too ignorant to understand the facts of the situation.
It is a knee-jerk reaction by jerks who want “to do something” even though a universal open carry law in this country for those who choose to do so would do more to stop street crime than any other thing that cold be done. Would it look like the Wild Old West? Probably not, but there will be a few who go with knee tied holsters and pearl handles on their single action 45′s…
Most would do it the way it’s done now. Concealed carry, licensed, trained and responsible.
You see the video of the computer “cafe” (legal gambling joint) that two black boys tried to knock over in Florida last week? One of them had a gun, the other a baseball bat. One of the customers was carrying a concealed weapon (licensed), took them both on, shot them both, ran them out of the place, called the cops and very likely saved some lives. The cops found both black men in the local emergency ward with gun shot wounds to buttocks and arms and other physical parts shot away.
They both will spend a few years behind bars, to be let out to try it again – but they’ll think twice about it because they won’t know if someone in the place they aim to rob just might have a weapon and be willing to use it!
You MUST UNDERSTAND.. The police cannot protect you under any circumstances unless it is by just plain dumb luck. You can be robbed, raped, murdered, assaulted, car jacked, home invaded, or otherwise agressed against and THE POLICE ARE HELPLESS TO STOP IT. Why? THEY AREN’T THERE.
They will show up 5-15 minutes later (if you are alive to call 911) and try and pick up the pieces but they can do NOTHING to prevent violence being done to your body or your family.
Join a local gun club and learn how to handle, manage and use firearms. Get a license to carry concealed. Purchase a gun to suit you in size and potency. Carry it. Practice using it.
With any luck at all, you will NEVER have to use it to protect yourself. Lots of cops carry for a 30 year career and never draw a weapon. BUT….. The one time you don’t carry it could be fatal for either you or people around you if you are unlucky enough to be present when something goes down.
A concealed carry and a good .380/9mm pistol is like buying insurance. You hope you never need it but if you need it, you got it along with the knowledge and skills to use it.
I personally have NEVER met a man or woman who has a concealed carry license and carries a weapon who isn’t extremely pleasant, polite and honest. Me? Shit, I open doors for females of any age, say yes ma’am and yes sir to women and men far younger than I am and intend to keep doing it. (I held the door for a young lady at an eye clinic I went to today and she just stood there and looked at me. I explained that it was polite for men to open doors for young ladies and just because I was old enough to be her Great Grandfather didn’t change a damn thing. She smiled a brilliant smile, said thank you and sashayed right in. I’ll bet her boyfriend catches hell when he walks off from the car next time leaving her sit in the seat and not opening her door for her!)

I stopped trying to open the car door for my gf/fiancee/wife long ago. She’s just too damned impatient. Whats funny is that she will hurry to the door and then turn and wait for me to open it for her.
Ah, love.

Tiny Boobs Against the Law in Australia
By John Ozimek • Get more from this author

The proposed Australian Government clampdown on smut just got a whole lot broader, as news emerged of a ban on small breasts and female ejaculation in adult material.
The end result of this widening of the censor’s net could be the addition of millions of websites to the internet filter now being proposed.
Breasts came under the spotlight a year ago, as Senators Barnaby Joyce and Guy Barnett commenced a campaign against publicly available porn. Rounding up magazines from corner shops and filling stations, Senator Joyce claimed that publications featuring small-breasted women were encouraging paedophilia.

IF GUNS KILL PEOPLE, THEN DO PENCILS MISSPELL WORDS?
Bada Bing Bada Boom.
Seriously, the lefties are all over the idea of taxing ammo at $5K PER ROUND, yeah, right until their OWN personal security passes this cost onto them, the fucking hypocrites.
As it is obviously guns that kill people, it is obviously my keyboard that is responsible for all my spelling and grammar boo-boos from here on out. However, I will take 100% ownership of the CONTENT of my posts, so there.
