How sad is it that I actually have more faith in the impartiality of an article from Pravda than I do from the NYT or Wall Street Journal? Anyone who thinks attacking Iran will be a cakewalk and not have huge unintended consequences, is smoking dope. The Chinese and Russians do not want the U.S. and Israel in control of Iran and their oil. The potential for World War III has not been higher since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
Iran to kick off World War Three
10.01.2012 17:00

The world is perhaps standing on the brink of another major war, which may kick off in Iran. Sources close to special services of different countries even come up with dates when the war may begin. The Southern Caucasus borders on Iran. Russia’s borders are near the country too. GeorgiaTimes and a scientist of politics of the Tbilisi State University (Georgia) tried to predict what consequences the armed conflict may lead to for separate countries of the region.
The war may begin when Israel strikes “nuclear” objects in Iran. The United States will support the attack. If it happens, the new large-scale war will become inevitable. Iran is not Libya, and not even Iraq. In addition, anti-Iranian enemies have failed to build the “axis of hatred” around Iran. Therefore, many countries in the region will support Iran either directly or by implication. In particular, it goes about China. Chinese President Hu Jintao stated that if the USA or any other country attacked Iran, China would take responsive measures immediately. As for Moscow, sources at Russia’s Defense Ministry said that the forces in the region had already been mobilized in case of a possible war.
Many Iranians come to Armenia, a republic of the former Soviet Union, for weekends. Women feel more liberated there, whereas men can drink cognac freely. The times, when Iran was separated from the Caucasus with the iron curtain of the Soviet Union, have become a thing of the past. Nowadays, for many residents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Iran is not an exotic state at all.
Armenia and Azerbaijan only border on Iran; the countries can only careless about the problems of their neighbor. However, it only seems so. The war with Iran, if it ever happens, is not going to be a regional conflict.
Georgian scientist of politics, Solomon Lebanoidze, is pessimistic about the future of the region. As he said in an interview with GeorgiaTimes, the war in Iran is very likely to happen. “It may happen that this war may grow into World War III. No one is going to stay aside. There are many nuances here that will not give any country of the Caucasus an opportunity to remain a serene harbor,” the expert said.
Russia will obviously stand up against the war with Iran. It will not be possible for Russia not to be involved in the conflict. Russia may come into a military alliance with China in case of the conflict. The alliance may gradually develop into the anti-Western coalition of forces against Israel and the USA, if they get involved in the war too.
“If the war begins, the Russian army base in Armenia will find itself isolated. If it happens, Russia may try to take measures to make a corridor via Georgia, the expert believes. “Georgia and Iran have pragmatic and friendly relations. I believe that Georgia will try to play a passive role in the process,” the scientist of politics said.
According to the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper, Russia is already concerned about the security of its army base in Armenia. Servicemen’s families have left the base, whereas the personnel have moved to another area, closer to the borders with Turkey.
The isolation of the Russian base in Armenia may push Azerbaijan towards another war for Nagorny Karabakh. “Azerbaijan may use Russia’s weakening position in Armenia and launch the war for the liberation of Karabakh. The way how the war develops depends on larger participants, such as the United States and Turkey. I do not think that the States will be passive in this situation,” the scientist of politics said.
For the Southern Caucasus, the war with Iran may resemble the time in the beginning of the 1990s, when the region was “depressurized” from its common condition. Many conflicts and wars sparked because of them, and many of them are still unsolved.

Chinese attacked the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, further pushing the U.S. as allies to Japan. Compared to war with China, Iran is a kindergarten side-show.
Score 1 For Japan As Chinese Protest At US Embassy In Beijing
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/18/2012
Between the anti-Japanese tensions and the converging dominance of the Japanese with the Chinese to our fiscal status quo, it seems the Chinese are increasingly pushing the US hand to supporting the Japanese. Via Ai Weiwei, contemporary Chinese artist, the US Embassy in Beijing is under protest by the Chinese marchers demanding “Pay Back The Money” and “Down with US Imperialism”. Some embassy cars were attacked – apparently on the back of the US role in the China-Japan tensions.
The question now is what happens to China’s Treasury holdings? They already threatened Japan with economic sanctions and now the populist view is turning anti-American at a time of new leadership. We assume they will continue to sell down their USD-based Treasury holdings and convert to Gold as they have been for the past year. With 2 months until the election, this will be an interesting distraction of global importance as the US is forced to support Japan or throw them under the bus.

I’m not concerned about Iran, per se. They currently don’t pose much of a direct physical threat to the US. What gives me pause is Iran’s response to Israel, both directly and through its proxies, and then Israel’s counter to Iran’s response.
Here’s a plausible scenario: the US and Israel take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities in relatively short order. Iran responds directly and/or through its proxies by attacking the cultural and population center of Israel: Tel Aviv. The Syrian regime, eager to restore legitimacy, along with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the West Bank see an opportunity and join the fracas against Israel. Israel counters by crushing said adversaries (Syria to a great extent, Iran lesser so). In the meantime, prepare or $5-$6/gallon gasoline in the US and a lot of posturing from Russia. If there’s ONE THING that could unite the unruly Muslim nations (alongside Russia), it’s hostility towards the US as Israel. After a period of relative calm (compared to the previous activity), Israel faces a Russian led Islamic invasion the likes of which has not been seen before in Israel’s history since statehood in 1948.

Very interesting. Push and threaten the U.S. and Japan, isolate the U.S., and wait for the U.S. or Israel to attack Iran, then the Chinese have open season on Japan and the 53,000 troops stationed in S. Korea and Japan.
Not to worry, we have Hillary Clinton to smooth things over, and Barry H. Obama, noted statesman with months of foreign policy experience, and a Nobel peace prize to boot. I’m sure they know what they’re doing, just look at Libya and Egypt! (He earned that Nobel peace prize, it’s obvious to me).

What most fail to realize – and somehow I believe our “planners” are missing it to – is that without Russia and China being our frenemies, we could (quickly) wake up in a world without basic necessities.
Russia owns the pipelines in Canada (how much of our fuel comes from there? how much more would we need if the Strait of Hormuz is shut down?), China owns us from dollars, debt, toilet paper, insulin, aspirin, antibiotics, socks, diapers, frozen foods, etc., etc. Won’t even mention the nuts, bolts, steel, copper, computer chips, that we would need if in a war.
This shit makes me start to believe that we are being destroyed from within, on purpose.
How can a bookkeeper from the Midwest realize how dependent we are, yet the academics and politicians haven’t a clue?
Has there EVER been a major war battled (and won) by the side that depends on the other for war supplies?

The country has been taken over. It has been bought off. Large sums of money pass to those who vote in favor of the elite’s wishes. Obama or Romney, it doesn’t matter what puppet is supposedly in charge. Figureheads, nothing more. Thomas Jefferson had it right when he talked about the banks. He knew the dangers. Strategic counter measures
If the US-Israel axis is shortsighted enough to initiate an Iran attack, Russia and Pakistan(maybe under Chinese influence) have the strategic option to arrange a few accidents cutting off the northern and southern supply lines to Afghanistan. This would instantly provide the US with an acute and overwhelming problem on another frontier, and what countermeasures does it have? Further, if the Afghans suddenly got Stinger-alike anti-aircraft rockets, helicopter transports inside Afghanistan would be threatened.
ISAF in Afghanistan might end up in a Saigon-like situation.

If we get involved in an Iran war we will get sideways with China real quick. And when we do just how are were going to get drywall screws, tools, socks, underwear and shoes and most everything else. That’s probably why we haven’t bombed the shit out of Iran so far. To many corporate campaign contributors have too much tied up in Chinese manufacturing to upset the apple cart over Iran.
You’d think Nazi Israel would figure this out and cool down the war mongering with Iran and just keep on blowing up Palestinian trash and jacking with Lebanon to help keep the arms industry in the black. Nobody really care about those people so things won’t get out of hand if you jack with them.
Hell I’m already worried about where I’ll get my Bluejeans. I buy Schmidt bluejeans at Tractor Supply and they are manufactured in Egypt. Those Egyptians make lots better bluejeans than Asians and Egypt is going ape shit. We sure don’t need to fuck up the supply from China unless we can tool up and crank out affordable stuff overnight. Maybe when wages get down to $2 per hour with no benefits, (or inflation achieves the same thing) with little to no government assistance we can get poor welfare people back to work in the factories so they can live in retched squalor and borderline starvation and pay for it themselves.

We will end up in a war with Iran after Israel attacks because Iran will immediately try to close the straight of hormuz and prompt us to defend it. Also, Iran has publicly stated any attack by Israel will be considered a US/Israeli attack.
Iran can be destroyed very swiftly. We aren’t talking about an occupational war, this will be a bombing Iran campaign of destroy and let them sort out the mess. As for Syria and Egypt, they are part of irans plan to counter strike. If anybody has heard, Egypt has placed tanks and chemical weapons I. Sinai to “smoke terrorists out”. Of course anyone that knows about this terrorist group also knows they have been living with Egypt for over 20 years. So why this sudden need to “smoke them out”? Because its an excuse for the military build up.
Russia will be a tough one, I believe they are more bark than bite. Granted they are a worthy opponent, their country has fallen to become the used car dealer of weapons to 3rd world countries. If the US fought Russia, we would win, although at what cost, I’m not sure. They are proud and would rather burn the world before going down. That being said, we have some outrageous advancements in missile defense, so I’m 100% positive no war head could breach our airspace. Russia is also too poor still, despite their recent uptick in their economy, their military hardware is very minimal and nothing compared to what our military has to offer.
I believe Russia will bark loudly and sound very scary, in order to receive compensation for the US destroying all potential to be reimbursed by Iran. I am sure some agreements will be met and they will just be compensated through oil contracts, etc.. this btw has already been in the works. Russia is in no place to take on the US.
China in the other hand is very interesting. They are one naval error away from a confrontation with Japan. China has 2 moves to make with Japan. Either wait for their military to greatly advance in the next 20 years, which it will surely be in the position to do, and probably the more rational decision. Or they could strike while the US has its hands full and strike while the iron is hot. If they wait Japan has most certainly realized it has to start drastically expanding their military and will do so for years to come, making Japan possibly more difficult to fight. so they either attack later at their strongest or attack now while they have a weaker, more opportunistic chance to catch the world with its pants down. Let it be known, however, that Japan has some amazing technologies in its navy.
If China dumps US currency it will shoot itself in the foot. Yes it would drop our currency drastically but also mean the money they loaned us could be either paid for at a fraction of the loan or possible have their debt scrubbed and lost if any attack on the US were to occur. Trust me, China doesn’t want to go to war with the US either. We have plenty of European allies that would pound their military. Their military is in its infancy and things are going too well for them to want to ruin their chances with an attack using poorly designed everything. Not too mention they have zero experience with war, however they are great observers.
China and Japan are very interesting to me right now. Something could actually happen. As for the middle east and Russia, Russia will bark loudly, get its bone in the form of repayment, and Iran, Egypt, and Syrian governments will be unravelled. Turkey will be interesting to see their position, along with jordan. They might be planning a scavenger role to pick the carcass of Egypt and Iran.
In any scenario, US and our allies in Europe can dominate any and all current threats, if it came to ww3 these countries will be the historical losers of the confrontation, 100%.
That was long and I typed it on my phone. Didn’t proof read, maybe didn’t organize my thoughts well, but I tried. Good day.

Perhaps this is wishful thinking and I’m probably pulling this out of my ass (among other things), but did anyone catch what the US just did? They took the MEK off the terror list. This tells me that they are going to use them in a fight with Iran…..or….wait for it…. The MEK that hates Iran leadership, yet has strong ties to Islam may be pondering a coop.
I know, wishful thinking but how amazing would it be if the MEK had convinced Iran military leaders that they are doomed if attacked. If the MEK was supported by the US to overthrow Iran leadership in exchange for destruction of their nuclear program than this would be the most amazing twist in history. Not only would it save thousands of lives, but it would leave the US in to “what now Russia and China” leaving them confused and pissed they couldn’t take advantage of the situation.
Seriously, a move like this would be ground breaking and an amazing feat historically. Maybe I am dreaming here but this would honestly solve so many problems it would be amazing. I am crossing my fingers the US had this master plan all along. We can then leave Israel to pick up our light work with Egypt and maybe Syria..
