Watch these videos from Spain and Greece from today. Do you think the solutions being implemented by central bankers, government bureaucrats, and corrupt politicians across the globe are benefitting the common man in any way? Everything that has been done since 2008 has been done to benefit the criminal bankers and politicians that created the crisis in the first place. Every solution has had the purpose of enriching bankers at the expense of the common man. The common man has had enough and is now in full revolt in Europe. This is a preview of what is coming to America. This is why you see the miltary like preparations going on across the land. This is why military “exercises” are being conducted on our soil. The ruling oligarchs know what is happening. The clueless masses are still distracted by the X-Factor and the NFL referee crisis. I wonder why I had to track these down on Russia Today rather than CNN, MSNBC, ABC, or CBS?

Didn’t the small arms treaty get passed the other day? The Europeans (except UK) have more rights than we do in this country. I think that it’s funny that people think that we have freedom and liberty here and shit like that. The American cops taser sweet, little old ladies and pregnant women. They kill amputees wielding a ballpoint pen. We don’t even have the right to protest without a permit. It’s only a matter of time before the snipers come because our cities will be in lockdown: full Martial Law.

    Is it paradox or irony?

The young people are protesting cuts in pensions that they can not pay for because they have no jobs.

Welfare states and Socialism/Communism always end the same way. They run out of other people’s money, and rioting and anarchy ensue. Coming to a U.S. city near you sooner than you think.

Nothing new here. In Feudalism, occasionally the peasants revolt.

This is solved very simply with some brutal suppression, imprisonment and death by the state.

With 50% (plus) youth unemployment, those kids are sucking the guv checks, and paychecks, of their parents and grandparents. So, really, they are protesting their allowances being cut.

The same thing is happening here.

But great comment, you made me smile.

It’s a LOT more than just their free shit being cut.

EVERYTHING … including essential services … is getting the ax. Univ of Athens is a shell of its former self. Businesses are closing by the thousands, thus reducing tax revenue, which in turn leads to more taxes on those left, which results in more closings. It’s a viscious and destructive cycle, with no apparent solution in sight.

A couple months ago I said Greece would explode by October. (My only right predicition evah.) Looks like I missed it by a couple days.

Posted this before … a British teacher living in Northern Greece. Not the best laid out webblog but very interesting 1st hand stories of everyday life in Europe’s newest shithole.

  12. llpoh says:

Stuck – what exactly are essential services? The preamble to the Constitutio says the role f government is as follows:

“From the preamble to the US Constitution:

To form a more perfect Union,
    To establish Justice,
    To insure domestic Tranquility,
To provide for the common defense,
To promote the general Welfare, and
To secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

The meanings to all these are…

Governance is across the different state boundaries with the internet, and keeping the union together
Establish legislation and rule of law
Establish enforcement of the law – police
Establish a means for national defense – standing army or militia to protect us from all foreign and domestic enemies
    Govern for the common good
Govern not just for (and in) the here and now – but with an eye to serving future generations”

So, are schools essential services? Fire departments? Hospitals? Etc etc etc? A lot of “essential services” should never – and I mean NEVER – have been government services to begin with. They should have always been privately funded.

Governments are drowning because they have created a welfare state where the government has assumed the responsibility for caring for the people. The cost is too great, and governments are too inefficient, incompetent, and corrupt to be allowed control over “essential services”.

Welfare states are doomed. The Greks burning their country down will not change the reality of the situation – they consume more than they produce. If they produce only enough to live a third world existence, then so fucking be it. They pay for people to consume rather than paying them to produce. That is disaster.

And it will be revisited in every welfare state – governments that pay people to consume rather than produce are going down. End of story.

Admin should create a conest as to when massive riots hit the US. Not protest but full on riots. Year and month would do. Tie breaker for closest week in month then to the day if necessary. He could hire a couple of replacement refs to settle disputes. No one from Seattle allowed.
