I read that story about the roadkill in the chinese restaurant a few days ago. About 25 years ago there was a chinese restaurant on highway 441 that runs n/s, just west of Shaw AFB, SC. The place was constantly packed with GI’s during lunch and dinner hours. Just west of the restaurant was a large neighborhood mostly occupied by military families and retirees. Just as the popularity of this restaurant began to increase, missing pet flyers exploded in this neighborhood. A couple weeks later a customer heard a dog barking coming from the kitchen. Local health inspectors were called and found the kitchen and store rooms filled with pet carrier crates that we occupied by many of the missing pets. I remember people raving about how good the food was there. After the news story broke, no one even mentioned that place again. I’ll bet that many people were permanently put off of chinese food and restaurants.
I tried to patent a Chinese food take-out container that had “Have You Seen [Name]” photos of missing pets at the bottom of the container, but was threatened with a discrimination suit. Just think, by now I’d be a millionaire!
Two things……that birthday cake picture reminded me that my mom always wanted a fur coat when we lived in Montana in the 70′s. My dad bought her a really nice hunting rifle and told her to kill it and he would turn it into a coat! She never got that coat.
The other thing is that you need to check out the most recent episode of Southpark called “Raising The Bar”. It should be right up your alley. In my area, the new episodes repeat on Friday nights and Wednesday nights.
