Love how he tells the kid who has no legs off. Reminds me of the phony disabled people causing problems for the real disabled people in this article: http://www.sfweekly.com/2009-06-17/news/service-with-a-snarl/

A number of guide dog users told SF Weekly that they have never navigated a minefield of yowling service animals the way they regularly do in this city. Having their guide dogs barked at or lunged at by a fellow service animal has come to be an almost daily occurrence — and for a guide dog user, this isn’t just inconvenient, but dangerous. When asked how they know the animal hassling their guide dog is a service animal, a common refrain among the sight-impaired is that the owner of the offending creature often shouts, “It’s a service animal!” as if this excuses aggressive behavior. Gallingly, the follow-up to “It’s a service animal!” is not infrequently, “Where can I get a harness like yours?”

I’m sure they do; just like people who aren’t disabled park in the dozen handicapped spaces are the grocery store, Lowes, and elsewhere. Hell, I’ve even seen people parallel park. I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make. There’s a big difference between someone who’s blind or an amputee and someone who has the exceedingly common ‘anxiety disorder’. The latter can take medication or get therapy. There is no pill for blindness or missing a limb or we’d have no blind or crippled people. I have alot of sympathy for the blind since it blindness runs in my family, and real disabled people since I was born crippled-no bones in my legs. They grew in after I was born though no one can seem to figure out the how or why.

I had a brand new first time experience last week. For the first time in my life, I went out to the tax office here and got a Temporary Handicapped Tag to adorn the mirror of the car.

Going through chemo is a bitch. Not only does is strip weight from your bones like a butcher, it tortures your nervous system and every mucus membrane in your body until it’s hard to walk upright. (10 pounds in 14 days and still slipping in spite of my best efforts).

So I am now “handicapped” through 3/13/13 at which time I better be over all this shit so I can get on with what I want to do (as opposed to the Onco-man’s desires who bosses me around now).

There are reasons why people with two arms and two legs have handicapped tags that may not meet the eye on an immediate basis. I’m also sure the practice is abused by the lazy as well but here, it does take a Physician’s complicity to obtain one.

I’m also sorry to say that as I age I have less than sympathy (pity perhaps?) for obese and heavily overweight people.. Shame on me..

I’ve spent a lifetime working to stay in condition and no more than 10 over what I “should” weigh. All that work and discipline has so far resulted in a bowel resection (with a second one on the horizon), heart stent followed a 10 years later by a triple bypass. Bat shit.. er – guano.

Now, after chemo, I’m pouring cream on my cheerios and honey in my tea and Boost at every bloody turn cramming calories so the gentle breezes of Florida won’t blow me into the Gulf..

I think one would do better if we could pick our Grandparents and Parents better… The gene pool has fat in it and clogged arteries wrapped around it.

    Must be a better way…..

Something I found out today while looking for something else.

    The food additive, Castoreum.

This product comes out of a BEAVER’S ASS – it’s extracted from their anal glands. It is used to make artificial raspberry flavoring.

Fuckity fuck fuck. I guess I won’t be drinking Snapple Raspberry Tea anymore.

I think this problem is the one that could be solved really fast. Fat people are fat because they eat junk food. COMA. I agree that there are some genetic predispositions, but if you look one hundred years back, there was less obese people (as a percentage of the population) than now. This means that it is a bullshit. I don´t really care about fat people in everyday life. They know what they are. What I do care about are the animals they eat. This is something I can not stand. There are literally thousands of photos popping up every day on facebook showing us how cruel we are as a specie. There are many ways how to get meals of exceptional quality on your table, as for example the new and interesting project called Fresh City Farms. I know it is expensive, but what is a better investment than your health? And I don´t agree with the comment above which states that healthy life can bring you cancer and health problems. I think that person is hiding something. It can be produced by stress or by bad habits like smoking or drinking. I´m not accusing anyone, I just don´t want to hear this stupid kind of excuses for being obese.

The “Oh, How Humiliating” one was pure gold.

“There are literally thousands of photos popping up every day on facebook showing us how cruel we are as a specie. ”

I can show you just as many photos of mother nature being “cruel” to itself.

Climb down out of your ivory tower. Want to know whats natural? Killing something and eating it. THAT is natural.

As for animal cruelty, yes it goes on, and guess what? The industry stomps on it at every turn, every chance they get. Stressed animals gain weight slower, produce less milk, and in general taste worse than one that was relaxed.

I read an article just the other citing “animal cruelty.” Someone had used a cattle prod. On a cow.

    Shocking I know. (puns!)

For the unenlightened those prods are enough to hurt a human but don’t have nearly the same effect on a 1500lb bovine. They PROD the animal forward.

At this point in the conversation I’m usually called barbaric, and maybe /gasp/ a brute!

Also, the dig you took at MA is pretty fucking cruel you stupid fucking ass jockey, but I guess you were just trying to prove your earlier claims.

  11. Fivehundredpoundpeep says:

PLEASE PLEASE study the issue of obesity in America far beyond the hyper-personal responsibility, “you lazy fat Americans”. You are right that something MORE is going on.

We are being fattened up by plan, beyond those like myself who watch their endocrine systems collapse bombarded by a toxic, dysfunctional system. I found out that rats are fattened up PURPOSEFULLY and KNOWINGLY by lab technicians and researchers using MSG, so ask yourself why is it being poured into just about all our food?

    http://fivehundredpoundpeeps.blogspot.com/2011/10/msg-is-used-to-make-lab-rats-fat-how.html

    http://fivehundredpoundpeeps.blogspot.com/search/label/Obesity%20Conspiracy

Add to that the GMOs–a recent study proved that they cause obesity, and the fact that ANIMALS and BABIES [who are 6 months old and unable to go buy hamburgers by the sack] are getting FATTER too. [see articles above]

Americans are being fattened up by plan. The megacorporations profit off this suffering. The pharmaceutical companies will as well. People will not live as long–population control. They profit off the adulterated food and the chemicals poured into it to make it addictive.

No one, absolutely NO ONE who is severely obese, CHOOSES IT, it is one of the most stigmatized positions to be in. The suffering of the results of severe obesity are beyond the pale. I have suffered them all. [by the way the size acceptance movement is no help either while they are right about treating fat people with respect as human beings, they just say accept the fat, as it piles on and is the outcome of disturbed metabolisms]

The fat people on the scooters are the canaries in the coal mine, for the garbage food, endless acute stress, and environmental toxins of a destructive culture.

    Washington’s Blog wrote this:

“But when you consider that 160 million out of 232 million adults in this country are either overweight or obese, along with 11 million adolescents, there must be something more sinister behind the phenomenon. ”

    YES THERE IS SOMETHING SINISTER.
I am fat and something is going on……

500 # – my impression is that if you want to gain massive weight you should eat out as often as possible, restaurants are the number one cause of obesity, in my opinion. it seems we are bombarded with commercials pushing food. i wonder if the elimination of cigarrette and alcohol commercials have reduced their business any. the additional commercial space available has been taken up by food mongers. are we being fattened up or are we simply eating like gerbils because the food is available?
i surmise that adam was kicked out of eden, a place with readily available food, because he grew fat and careless in taking care of the plot of land assigned to him. having developed a habit of eating, he listened to eve who suggested that they hadn’t tried the fruit of the tree of life and it sure does look tasty and you know how you love to eat…
so what was adam’s punishment? he has to work for his food now, work off those excess pounds of leisurely flesh around his middle, since he had made his stomach his god.
