  1. Administrator says:

Fastball bassist Tony Scalzo came up with the idea for the song after reading journalistic articles which described the disappearance of an older married couple, Lela and Raymond Howard from Salado, Texas, who left home in June 1997 to attend the Pioneer Day festival at nearby Temple, Texas, but never arrived. They were discovered two weeks later, dead, at the bottom of a ravine near Hot Springs, Arkansas, hundreds of miles off their intended route.

About the song, Scalzo said that “It’s a romanticized take on what happened” – he “pictured them taking off to have fun, like they did when they first met.”

Admin’s pop favorites crack me up. My actual thought process on this thread: The Way, hmmm sounds interesting, maybe about Scientology, Mormanism or some other creepy cult. Let’s click on it. Fastball? The Way? WTF is that?-Oh must be some obscure band, or maybe something brand new. Well, might as well listen, Admin usually has pretty good taste (despite what SSS thinks).

Opening riffs-sounds familiar. A little more-hey, these guys ripped off that pop song about streets paved w/ gold. A little more-they REALLY ripped off that song-hey, maybe it IS that song. I always liked it, but only heard it on the pop stations while station surfing, so I didn’t know their name. Dig the Dick Dale-esque surf-sound guitar. And Out Of My Head is OK too, a little too 80s/Welcome Back Kotter-esque for my taste, but not bad.

@ Administrator I don’t know if you have seen this yet, but when you connect the dots it is concerning to say the least

On 6/25/12, the president signed an Executive Order declaring a national emergency regarding the securing of highly enriched uranium in Russia

Looking at NDAA and some other executive orders, do we have the makings of something that can lead us into total governmental control over us. Could this be “the emergency” that sets things off? You may want to look into this. Btw keep up the great work
