Admin – and here I have been thinking all is great. Fuck.
Obama will truly fuck the US if re-elected. Romney, too, but not quite so much. But I predict business will flood out if Obama is re-elected (even more than is happening). It is going to be horrible to watch.

Steve Hogan says:
Public perception is paramount.
Despite all evidence to the contrary, Bush was seen as a defender of the free market (it’s painful to even write “Bush” and “free market” in the same sentence). I think much of this is little more than an artifact of a bygone era when Republicans were viewed as better advocates for low taxes and private property.
The same perception holds true with Romney. The man is clueless about economics and is intent on centrally planning the economy, not to mention supporting further price-fixing of interest rates to fund the gigantic debt.
Maintaining the enormous military empire is also on the menu, as is extension of the bankrupt entitlement programs. In other words, the Obama policies will go largely unchanged, the government will continue to grow like a cancer, and our day of reckoning will be that much more catastrophic.
Since the world-changing economic correction is baked into the cake, I would prefer to have Obama holding the reins when this ship hits the iceberg. Even the most delusional Obama Kool-Aid drinker won’t mistake his hero for a free market supporter.
Maybe, just maybe, the American public will come to its senses and re-adopt the principles that made America special. It’s a long shot, but having the depression hit us head on with Romney in the White House practically guarantees that we end up with a despot to “fix” the country.
It is a sad moment in our history that re-electing a narcissistic sociopath like Obama is the best choice we have to emerge from the ashes with the promise of embracing liberty once again.

Fuck Obama, fuck Romney, and fuck the presidency.
Congress has had an approval rating of 10% but a re-election rate of 80%.
If we really desire change in politics we need change in congress. But until then, taxes will rise, business will leave, standard of living will decline, riots will ensue, yes, it will be horrible to watch.

Wow. I’ll file this under ‘you_learn_something_new_here_every_day’.
You will actually vote for a guy you say is a “narcissistic sociopath”. Jeezus, with geniuses like you running around it is no wonder 95% of incumbents get reelected.

Kill Bill says:
Obama told Jon Stewart of the daily show that congress needs to reign in the presidency.
Really?? Really? The very clown car that handed the oval office the power to declare war, undermining the constitution are going to reign in the above the law executive they created? May as well challenge congress to vote for doing away with the FED.

In other stupid politicial messaging, no doubt from handlers and rhetorical advisors, Ann Romney says “serving in Mormon missions like serving in the US military”
Seriously? Being a priest at a missionary in France to avoid war is like being in the military? That Romneys kids going doorbell to doorbell on their Mormon bicycles is like being in boot camp??

Serving as a Mormon Missionary is actually harder than being in the military.
Soldier: Go to crappy countries and get shot at.
Mormon Missionary: Go to a crappy country, knock on doors of people who you don’t know, annoy them, tell them stories about your weird-ass religion, get mocked, maybe get shot at.
Me? Gimme that gun, sir!!!

For a moment, a serious question.
How do you feel about people using; 1) religious exemption and 2) any other exemption, to avoid the draft?

If they have always been an conscientus objector to war, due to their belief, then I dont have a problem. But when they sit around talking about how the country needs to go into that war or this war and then suddenly want to be exempt or get a deferment…Chicken Hawk Hypocrites. Respect is earned, so they cant lose what they havent earned. I do lose common courtesy towards them and while not hating them will have no reason to associate with them.

Kill Bill
Thanks for the explanation.
I asked because I sensed a disconnect — not necessarily with you, just in general.
On the one hand we all hate neocons and the bullshit wars we’re involved in. This is good. But, on the other hand, some mock/condemn draft dodgers for not fighting in those wars! Doesn’t make sense.
If some kid back then didn’t want to kill some slant-eyed gook half way around the world, and used an exemption to get out of it, well — good for him!!! (This, coming from a Vietnam-era vet.)
.
.
On the other hand, let’s say we are at war and Chinese soldiers land in Maine. I would have a real big problem with anyone seeking exemptions.

Of course he donated so much to Charity. He is required to by his Church……I know whats wrong with that. The problem is the sales pitch is wearing me out from both sides.
