NOW WE KNOW WHY ROMNEY IS IN PA TODAY

I speculated a few days ago that Romney wouldn’t be coming to PA two days before the election if he was really down by 4% in the polls. Now we know why he is here today. The latest poll shows a tie. The MSM will continue to root for their candidate – Obama – by skewing their polls, but all indications from the real world show that Romney is going to win on Tuesday. He better hope he doesn’t lose by two votes, because Avalon and I are voting for Gary Johnson. We’ve chosen to not vote for the pepperoni or sausage pizza.

New PA poll shows dead heat; Romney up in new MI poll

Rick  Moran
These  polls could be outliers – or they could be signs of a coming Romney  victory.

Whatever  they are, they are welcome.

Pennsylvania:

President  Obama and Republican Mitt Romney  entered the final days of the presidential  race tied in a state that the  campaigns only recently began contesting, a  Tribune-Review poll shows.

The  poll showed the race for Pennsylvania’s  20 electoral votes locked up at 47  percent in its final week. Romney was  scheduled to campaign in the Philadelphia  area on Sunday, and former  President Bill Clinton planned to stump for Obama on  Monday. The  campaigns have begun to saturate the airwaves with millions of  dollars  in presidential advertising.

“They’re  both in here because of exactly what  you’re seeing” in this poll, said Jim Lee,  president of Susquehanna  Polling & Research, which surveyed 800 likely  voters Oct. 29-31.  Most of the interviews occurred after Hurricane Sandy inundated Eastern  and Central  Pennsylvania. The poll’s error margin is 3.46 percentage   points.

Nearly  60 percent of people say the country is  on the wrong track, and economic  concerns continue to dominate. Almost  half of likely voters say economic issues  are the primary driver of  their choice for president.

Meanwhile, in  Michigan, Romney has a slim lead over the president:

WJBK  Fox 2 -

Who  are you most likely to vote for in the Presidential election -  Democratic  President Barack Obama, or Republican Nominee, Governor Mitt  Romney, another  candidate, or are you undecided?

Republican  Nominee Mitt Romney 46.86% President Barack Obama 46.24% Another candidate  4.94% Undecided 1.96%

Not  to throw cold water on the party, but Democratic  pollster PPP has Obama up 6 in PA and 3 in WI. Rich Baehr, AT’s political  correspondent, has been pointing out PPP’s thumb on the scale for Democrats for  months, but that 6 point spread is closer to what most other polls have been  showing in the Keystone State.

Rasmussen  has the race tied nationally at 49. It should be pointed out that 48 hours  before the election, no national tracking poll gives the president 50% of the  vote.

I’ve decided to vote Johnson too.

All liberty-minded should, because if we can get enough percentage, we can no longer be ignored.

Having Romney as President during these next four years would be pretty ironic for most Republicans I know. My gut tells me that whomever is in office next is going to take the popular blame for the hell we are about to discover. A Romney win pretty much guarantees the total neutering of the Repupukes after the real crises start devastating us.

While the likes of Obama, his wife, or (heaven forbid) Billary, rise up again as the saviors of the poor FSA and women, and the tout they are the gunslingers protecting us from the evil banksters whom will continue to line their pockets. The absolute hypocrisy is lost on our FSA and most average citizens.

Start running those thoughts out to their logical conclusions, scary shit, isn’t it?

If Obama wins, my civil liberties will be ignored. Likewise with Romney.

If Obama wins, we get more money for TBTF banks and less for working people. Same with Romney.

If Obama wins, it’s likely we will be dragged into some new war in the Middle East. Likewise if Romney is elected.

    Murphy,
    Nate silver’s been wrong before.
    And ,polls are highly suspect.
Obama has been total fuck-up and is not qualified shine shoes on sidewalk in front of the Whitehouse , much less prop a foot in the Offal orifice.

The majority of Americans from Union workers to the slut vote aren’t so stupid as to not pick up on this fact and will vote accordingly , polls notwithstanding.

    Predictions
With the election rapidly approaching, let’s get all the public figures on record. I’ll present my Electoral College prediction in my column tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a few predictions that I’ve spotted floating around the Internet. Feel free to add more in the comments and I’ll update this accordingly.

Nate Silver: Obama 307, Romney 231 (November 5)
Nate Silver: Obama 288, Romney 250 (October 22)
Nate Silver: Obama 320, Romney 218 (September 30)
Dick Morris: Romney 351, Obama 187
    White House Insider: Romney 300+
Michael Barone: Romney 315, Obama 223
John Scalzi: Obama 294, Romney 244
    InTrade: Obama 303, Romney 235
Jim Cramer: Obama 440, Romney 98

As much as I have criticized the cult of Nate Silver, I could not agree with the man more when he writes the following in his column entitled “For Romney to Win, State Polls Must Be Statistically Biased:P

“My argument, rather, is this: we’ve about reached the point where if Mr. Romney wins, it can only be because the polls have been biased against him. Almost all of the chance that Mr. Romney has in the FiveThirtyEight forecast, about 16 percent to win the Electoral College, reflects this possibility.

Yes, of course: most of the arguments that the polls are necessarily biased against Mr. Romney reflect little more than wishful thinking. Nevertheless, these arguments are potentially more intellectually coherent than the ones that propose that the leader in the race is “too close to call.” It isn’t. If the state polls are right, then Mr. Obama will win the Electoral College. If you can’t acknowledge that after a day when Mr. Obama leads 19 out of 20 swing-state polls, then you should abandon the pretense that your goal is to inform rather than entertain the public.

But the state polls may not be right. They could be biased. Based on the historical reliability of polls, we put the chance that they will be biased enough to elect Mr. Romney at 16 percent.”

That’s the primary difference between Silver’s opinion and mine. He puts a chance of anti-Republican poll bias at 16 percent. Even though I am not a Republican and I do not support Mitt Romney, I think it is closer to 90 percent. That still may not be enough to account for the gap between what the polls are reporting and how I expect events to transpire on Tuesday, but it does explain the difference. So let’s keep that in mind. If Romney does win, the only possible conclusion is that the state polls must be biased.

For those who wish to bring up the 2008 election, I would remind everyone that I was incorrect about Hillary being the Democratic candidate, not about the Democratic candidate winning the general election. It was always obvious that the Republican candidate – I thought it would be Pataki or a senator in the Dole mode – was intended to be a sacrificial lamb. Nor should anyone forget that Silver’s poll-based predictions entirely failed in 2010.

You don’t get eschatological choices in western democratic governments. The political systems are designed to be incremental and we’ve been losing thus the steady erosion of our constitution and its protections. You think it doesn’t matter who wins well, who do you want picking Federal judges?
Want Scalia’s and Thomas’ on the Supreme Court of Breyers and Mayors? You aren’t going to get judges who even care about what the constitution says if Obama is picking them.

This maybe the last national election the Republican party has a chance to win. Unless and until the Democratic party breaks up due to the inherent contradiction of interests between blacks and hispanics the demographics are going to favor them. I want to win it not because Romney is my candidate but because he is the only candidate we can influence.

I for one take comfort in our history that Paul’s philosophy will NEVER die. And its not HIS philosophy. He’s just the latest spokesman. Paul’s message goes back to The Founders and outspoken members of the American Revolution such as The Sons of Liberty member Samuel Adams and Virginia’s Patrick Henry.

Anyway, if you want to label Paul’s supporters as members of a cult, feel free. Best cult I ever belonged to.

Is illegal immigration bad. Of course. Can we undo it. No! So what do we do? Make hispanics our enemies or do we offer them the jobs negroes now enjoy if they vote Republican? How about Israel. Maybe the GOP ought to tell Bibi Netanyahu hey we love you but if American Jews vote 80% Democrat in 2012 Iran’s your problem and you won’t be getting any spare parts from General Dynamics either. Puerto Ricans?

Sangell, you seem to be reading the words, but you are apparently unable to comprehend the message.

You are locked into the battle. Gladiators going to war, “my” side is better than “your” side. “My” side has god supporting the murder of “your” side.

This would be true no matter whom you thought was going to save the country.

This is America, you have the absolute right (well, Founder’s written right, that absolute is dramatically changing under both R’s and D’s) to believe whatever you want to believe.

The problem is that what you believe is the status quo. Continuing to expect things to change while doing more of the same is how you roll.

Great. Terrific. Good for you chap. (or chappette)

But to expect to come on here, especially after reading a number of articles and comments, and lecture us about “throwing away” our votes, or causing Obama to be re-elected (and you do realize if Romney wins we’ll be blamed for that too, even though O already used the “independent” vote card), or that we don’t have the “right” to “whine” later, makes you part of the problem, not the solution.

BOTH sides have created this freaking disaster. BOTH sides have prospered and taken their friends, families, business supporters and lobbyists with them. BOTH sides have waged war. BOTH sides have appointed supreme court justices (to name but one court out of thousands) that have ruled against the citizens and our Constitution. BOTH sides have made promises that cannot be kept. BOTH sides, well fuck Sangell, you used big words, you fill in the blank.

Believe whatever you want (in light of all evidence to the contrary, but crap, it’s your Oz, enjoy), but if you come here spouting your delusion don’t expect to be honored for it.

I will say you made me chuckle a couple times. Sadly, I wasn’t always laughing with you.

This ought to do wonders in easing Stan the niggerator and Sangie the snowflake’s troubled minds.

Regardless the unprincipled character and penchant for crony capitalism at any cost that is the hallmark of the Kolobian sociopath , Stan and Sangell will be happy the staus quo is to be continued and supported by even more wealth looted form their grand-kids grand kids, should any survive the next decade of war for profit and Empire first.

    ELECTION 2012
    Romney 305, Obama 233
Exclusive: Vox Day warns Republicans not to expect much change

Vox Day is a Christian libertarian and author of “The Return of the Great Depression” and “The Irrational Atheist.” He is a member of the SFWA, Mensa and IGDA, and has been down with Madden since 1992.

I am aware that many of the national polls are projecting an election that goes down to the wire. I am cognizant of the many hands being wrung about the possibility that the Electoral College vote will diverge from the popular vote. And it has been impossible to escape Nate Silver’s thrice-weekly predictions in the New York Times that Barack Obama has at least a 538 percent chance of winning the election tomorrow.

There is no need to point out the many technical problems with the polls or the intrinsic flaws and poor performance of various statistical models. Many others have gone into considerable detail doing that. I will simply note that I see no legitimate reason to abandon the conclusion that I reached long before Mitt Romney was nominated the Republican candidate for president, which is that Romney will be the next president of the United States. I do not support the man, and I do not believe he will preside in a manner that is beneficial to the country, the economy or the world; I am simply observing that the patterns of party enthusiasm still appear to be much more akin to 2010 than 2008.

It is always futile to pretend any precision in matters of human behavior. But it is also fun. So, in the spirit of the electoral season, I suggest that Romney will win 305 electoral votes to Obama’s 233. I also expect that he’ll have a margin of victory in the popular vote between three and four percent. It won’t be a landslide, but it also won’t be as close as those who expect Obama to win assume a Romney upset would have to be.

    electoral_map.jpg

Now, is it possible that I’ve completely misjudged the mood of the electorate while being overly cynical about the professionalism of the mainstream media? Absolutely. If so, we’ll enjoy the benefit of another four years of the most incompetent, most unintentionally tragicomic administration since President Carter’s one term. But I’m not concerned about that. We already know what sort of president Obama will make, which is to say an absentee one. A country can do worse.

What concerns me is the possibility that Romney may not, as so many Republicans assume he must be, the lesser evil. I understand why many conservatives, and even some libertarians, are voting for him. Obama is not clearly going to fix the economy, address the growing national debt or arrest the national decline, so Mitt Romney represents the hope of a change in that regard. The problem is that Romney has shown absolutely no sign of even the smallest interest in addressing the core problems the United States is presently facing. He isn’t going to stop the aging of the Baby Boomers, he isn’t going to stop the Federal Reserve’s insane credit creation, he isn’t going to stop Third World immigration, he isn’t going to stop free trade, and he isn’t going to stop the use of the American military as an unpaid global police force.

I’m not attempting to convince anyone not to vote for Mitt Romney or Barack Obama at this point. I trust I’ve made my position clear in previous columns, and I will not be voting for either man. My only objective is to remind you that the president is just one man, and although he is a powerful totem as the representative of the hopes and dreams of millions of individuals voting for him, he cannot successfully arm-wrestle the invisible hand of the global economic forces.

And remember, just as it took Nixon to go to China and Obama to openly assassinate American citizens, as president, Mitt Romney’s signature policies are likely to be those that go against basic Republican principles.

I was treated poorly at a voting polling place in Wesrmoreland County, PA. Twice I was asked to present voter ID. A woman came over to me as I was voting to tell me to pull my jacket shut. I thought there was significant if not apparent voter intimidation. How can people outside the polling area give out merchandise from candidates but inside they are interested in what you have under your coat????
