Can You Be A “Good” King?

Saw this on Alt-Market, a pretty simple explanation. But that won’t matter for many people.

So you think you could be a “good” king/emporer/ruler/government? The only thing for a moral “king” to do is waive the power of the throne. Each person needs to be their own “king.”

You are not providing your people with anything, you are stealing their money and spending it for them, nothing more…

I saw the same video and turned it into a story-thread …. because I liked it a lot, and 90% of people won’t watch a 14 minute video.

Neat video. Regulars here won’t learn anything new like harry p said, but it will provoke you to think about things from a totally new (for most of us) point of view. It is quite a challenge to be a benevolent leader.

I think that our Constitutional Republic form of govt would work out almost perfect with a few very minor changes. Here is what I’d do:

    1) Restore the rule of our Constitution on day one. If something in that fine old document does not work, begin following established law to amend it on day two.

For me, number one on that list would be TERM LIMITS. Strict term limits alone might have prevented the shitstorm headed our way. I’d say that a limit of no more than two, non-consecutive terms is more than enough. Get caught cavortin’ or cahootin’ with former elected representatives and yer fired!

Number two would be to forever prevent the future, cocksucker congress critters, from ever voting a raise or new or existing benefit increase for themselves. If they want or need a raise, they can ask we the people for it and we will vote on it (popular vote) when we vote in your replacement. (Incumbants will no longer exist, see above) This will allow the American people to finally get the govt they actually pay for. In all honesty, raises won’t really be needed since scientifically created inflation will no longer be a problem. (See #4 below)

Number three would be immediate execution for any and all practicing govt lobbyists. No exceptions! You want to lobby someone? Lobby each and every one of us or shut the fuck up and write letters to your congress critters!

Number four would be to have a serious national debate about this whole electoral college BULLSHIT! For fuck sake, if we cant figure a way to reliably use technology to count our votes then I say we go back to one voting with colored rocks or balls. Oh yeah, if a black panther, or even a white panther shows up at a polling place, everyone carrying a hand gun that day gets to cap his ass!

    2) Implement a flat tax based on what people spend. Same % for everyone including businesses. Actually, businesses pay 1% more. (just to see if LLPOH is reading) The more you spend, the more you pay. The more you save, the less you pay. Tax is collected at time of purchase. Revenue is split between states and feds. You only pay one tax. No more excise, use, or other taxes. There will only be one tax break allowed and it will be at a rate of 100% but only for those who can produce or dig up, literally, every single thing they’ll ever need for their entire life on their own property without using public roads, electric grids or other infrastructure. Good luck with that……you’ll have truly earned your tax break at that point.

    3) All free shit ends 5 years after #1 above goes into effect. It will take a few years to turn Free Shit Army members into non-free shit members of society. (If they don’t get killed or starve first)

    4) Rule #1 dictates that most other things that need fixin’ like ending the FED, wars of choice, etc, will be fixed by default so you don’t really need much more than these four steps.

No drastic changes, no absolute power needed. Implement North Dakota banking rules, make deficits illegal and punishable by forfeiture of savings and current or future earnings of the then current congress critters until the deficit is repaid. I’ll bet the fuckers would find religion real quick if their own money was on the line. Emergency deficits could be allowed in disasters that affect the entire country, continent or world. In that case, our new nation of savers (See #2 above) could then loan money to the govt if they were so inclined. They could even make charitable cash donations meaning, the kindness of your heart kind, not the tax deductible kind.

I think a debtors prison of forced manual labor would be a fantastic “blast from the past”. Sheriff Joe Arapio could run chain gangs of inmates throughout the land, wearing the obligatory pink jumpsuits while they work off their debt by maintaining public property like parks and roads. If the current flat tax rate is say, 15%, they earn .15 cents per hour towards their debt plus two hots, one cot and one slightly green, but wholesome and safe to eat, bologna sandwich each day along with all the water they can drink.

These are the kinds of laws and rules I want to live under. I want liberty AND the responsibility that goes with it. Pay as you go. Majority Rules. Do unto others. A land where you have the opportunity to succeed beyond your wildest dreams, fail miserably, just be mediocre or even try out all three, but let it be my choice.
