A NATIONAL TRAGEDY

A truly disturbing story. Army and Navy suicide rates are at an all-time high. It seems soldiers don’t like being sent off to fight foreign wars for oil and so J.P. Morgan can rape the resources of Afghanistan. And the military’s solution? Nasal spray. Truly pathetic.

The people in the military overwhelmingly supported Ron Paul. Now, they probably see themselves as doomed. Understandable, but tragic none-the-less.

Army, Navy Suicides At Record High
Submitted by Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

We are now averaging more than one suicide per day for active duty military. This is a topic I have covered before, most recently in my post Anti-Suicide Nasal Spray Coming to Keep Troops From Killing Themselves. This is an absolute national disgrace.

From USA Today:

With six weeks left in the year, the Army and Navy are already reporting record numbers of suicides, with the Air Force and Marine Corps close to doing the same, making 2012 the worst year for military suicides since careful tracking began in 2001.

The deaths are now occurring at a rate faster than one per day.

When Army suicides among those on active duty and demobilized status are combined, the number exceeds the 207 soldiers who have died so far this year in Afghanistan, a difference further skewed because some of those combat zone deaths were also suicides.

We are living in a sick society that is getting sicker and sicker each day. We must turn this around and the only way to do so is to get the facts to people and shake them out of their apathy.

Anti-Suicide Nasal Spray Coming to Keep Troops From Killing Themselves
Posted on August 18, 2012 http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2012/08/18/anti-suicide-nasal-spray-coming-to-keep-troops-from-killing-themselves/

This story, as much as any I have read, perfectly demonstrates the mindset of the elite power structure in the United States. Faced with the highest number of suicides ever in the military do they try to figure out why? No. Of course, it can’t have anything to do with the fact that these troops are merely fighting for corporate interests and the petrodollar. No, couldn’t be that. It couldn’t be the fact that they see the government implementing a police state back home for their friends and relatives while they fight for “freedom” abroad. It couldn’t be the fact that more and more military personnel realize the whole “war on terror” and the “war on drugs” are a fraud and that the elites think of American citizens are the real terrorists.

No, it couldn’t be any of that. So what is their brilliant solution to the suicide problem? Figure out a method of delivering a hormone that will make people mentally and emotionally unable to recognize their abuse at the hands of their own government. First, let’s look at the problem. From The Daily:

Suicide among American troops has increased steadily since the start of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In July, the number of suicides among active-duty soldiers reached 26 — more than double the number in June and the highest for any month since the Army began keeping such statistics.

The Pentagon reported in June that suicides among soldiers have averaged one per day this year, an 18 percent increase in suicides during the same period last year, and have now surpassed the rate of combat fatalities.

Now enter the solution: Thyrotropin-releasing hormone, or TRH.

From The Army Times:
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana University School of Medicine scientist has been awarded $3 million to develop a nasal spray intended to combat suicidal thoughts among soldiers.

IU said TRH is known to have antidepressant and anti-suicidal effects, but it isn’t suitable for injection or oral use. So Kubek and other scientists at Purdue and at Hebrew University in Jerusalem are developing a nasal spray designed to deliver appropriate doses of the drug to the brain over time.

The project is part of a national effort designed to combat suicides in the nation’s military.

Guess what will happen next. Yep, you guessed it. When the suicides migrate here to our shores and increasingly affect the civilian class, which they invariably will, what do you thing the solution will be? Grow the economy? Nope, give a serf some nasal spray!

No fucking wonder our soldiers are killing themselves. I can’t even wrap my head around how awful it must be in uniform these days.

Why is it happening? Cuz the soldiers are starting to realize what fucking psycopaths they work for and that the country and values they hold dear are LOST. Everything they are willing to put their lives on the line for is being destroyed by their own government AND the apathy of the Amerikan sheeple.

Oh, and it doesn’t help that the ROE that were changed in 1/2009 by the Obamanistas have accounted for fully 2/3rds of all combat deaths since the wars began.

It’s only a mercy that these soldiers aren’t going postal as a result of their despair.

Funny, the only guy to do that was a “soldier of allah”, heh, and the Obamanistas classified his killing spree as a “workplace incident”. This while our guys are being murdered by radical Islamists!!!

If only more soldiers would remember their oath about protecting the country from ALL enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC, HINT HINT.

Not just there: In 2009 more Americans took their life (37,000) than were killed by motor-vehicle accidents. And the report said overdoses were up 128 percent, so Doc, you know more about classifications on that then I ever will, how many of those 31,000 poisonings do you think were also suicides.

On another note, the suicide rate during the Great Depression was 22 per 100,000 today it is 10 per 100,000.

Accepting Davos stats, and looking only at the Army, which has almost 600,000 personnel, then the Armuy has a suicide rate approximately 1/3 higher than average. It is a high stress job, to be sure, so I would expect to see a higher than average rate.

Doctors have a rate 100% higher than average – so for 600k doctors, they would have around 120 suicides. Theirs too is a very high stress job.

There are a great many occupations that have suicide rates higher than that being suffered by the military.

I think this has to be seen in context. All suicides are a tragedy. The entire society is suffering. Including the military. And it is going to get worse.

  4. AWD says:

All I know is there are more psych admissions (voluntary and involutary) from the ER lately than I’ve ever seen in my career. People are depressed and suicidal in record numbers. Everyone is coming in the office depressed and wanting on anti-depressants and “nerve pills”, FSA and the working poor. And then the others that have just given up and gotten on disability, anti-depressants, xanax, and pain meds and have simply checked out. Many are milking welfare, disability, and unemployment for thousands a month, selling their meds, and working under the table (scamsters and fraudsters).

Everything is upside-down. People that work are getting poorer and poorer, watching the FSA get free everything, including healthcare, which the working poor can only dream about. Free housing, free food, free everything. Socialism is really a mind-fuck. No small wonder people are killing themselves. All any sane person can hope for is the corrupt criminal government to go bankrupt and restore some order to this fucked up, doomed country.

@llpoh: Not an expert but I was under the impression that suicide was massively concentrated among teens, elderly, and people who are chronically ill. The military has few of the first, none of the second, and few (???) of the third. I would be curious how the military suicide rate compares to the civilian population when adjusted for factors of age, health (physical, at least), employment status, and relationship status.

And the government is making the military look good as a place of employment for the young men and women who cannot find a job. Forced ‘voluntary’ conscription by any other name is still a draft. Keep in mind that these are the troops that will someday be patrolling the streets of your town or city. Marshal law will be needed soon and the ‘false flag’ will be provided to give them the excuse.

The question is, will these same suicide prone troops fire on Americans? We shall see.

    Interesting data set.

Since my neck/spine injuries a few years back, I’ve had more than enough pills to do the job at any given moment, a number of recreational firearms, a nice pocket knife collection, power tools, ropes, ridiculously fast cars, and a variety of other methods. I’ve certainly entertained the thought a few times but decided long, long ago that not only is offing yourself the MOST selfish, hurtful thing you can possibly do to thse who care about you, but also that the societal reasons for such increased suicides in the military and general population is reason enough to wait it out and take a few of the evil motherfuckers with me when the opportunity presents itself. Not long now…

I disagree as they are likely not doing it to hurt those that care about them but to end the nightmares, to end the guilt and the depression they can no longer endure.
