So, does Mr. Liberal Historian who loves Lincoln and FDR intelligent enough to see the economic collapse going on right in front of him, and how the government encouraged, aided, and abetted this disaster also?

Or does his vision only work when looking in the rear view mirror?

The Dust Bowl is the Hegelian Dialectic again. The government encourages people to move and overfarm this region, then when it collapses – here comes the government to the rescue!

Yojimbo – that’s exactly what happened! Ken Burns did a great job in this documentary, but had he spent more time on the cause, not just the effects, it would have been superb. The government caused the problem in the first place.

Somebody out there needs to do a documentary on that!

Okay, I’ve watched the whole interview now. I give Ken Burns credit for highlighting what the old fellow said about short-term thinking, about the depletion of the aquifer, about how we’re destroying this planet. Overall, he did an excellent job of what HE was trying to say. He missed big important elements, but managed to hit on some very good points, nonetheless.
