ALL IS WELL

Greece is saved for the 14th time. Delusional American consumers are confident. Home prices are soaring and are now only 30% below 2006 levels. Obama will save us from the manufactured fiscal cliff crisis. Egypt is our ally. Iran and Israel will reach an agreement. Issuing more debt to solve the worldwide debt problem will work. The world will return to normal any day now. The economy will grow by 4% in 2013 when Obama’s economic policies are implemented. This 4th Turning will end without bloodshed, financial disaster, or any change in the existing social order. All is well.

I think this turning will end with a World War and not a Civil War.

We won’t learn anything from the experience, and will move towards an even more centrally planned economy until the next 4th turning. During that time a new Cold War will develop, with drone warfare and cyber attacks becoming the norm rather than the exception. The US tries to keep its status as a global superpower through an expansion of the tactics begun under the Obama administration.

The next one won’t just be one for the history books, it will destroy them completely. Nukes will fly and the population of the world will drop precipitously. A new Dark Ages kicks off, and while the knowledge of the past isn’t completely forgotten, the infrastructure to support it no longer exists.

500 years later, the TechnoRenaissance begins. Fusions reactors come online, anti grav is discovered, space exploration resumes in earnest and with such a tiny world population its easy as pie to feed our people.

We have to clear away the rubble before we can begin building anew.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 7 Thumb down 3

    3) Admin’s mastery of sarcasm.

    4) Egypt, angry farmers in Belgium, and Cairo ….. aka, Reality TV …. that’s even better than Honey Boo Boo.

For two centuries Western economies powered their growth with new inventions and capital investment. Railroads, telephones, electric lights, radio and TV, airplanes, highways, computers and the internet. Then came the age of finance and Central Banking. No longer was it necessary to pour money into R&D or plant and equipment to make fortunes. R&D was for losers working at some university for peanuts and investing in plant and equipment for Chinese communists. Making and selling things was hard and you had competitors too.

In the age of Central Banking none of that was necessary. You just needed access to the Central Banks lending facilities to prosper. I mean how smart do you have to be to borrow money for 1% or less from the Central Bank, buy government bonds that yield 5 times that then use the bonds as collateral to borrow more money from the Central bank and buy more government bonds. You finish work almost as soon as you arrive at your office and if anything goes wrong you simply tell the government whose bonds you own they have to get the taxpayers to bail you out otherwise its game over for both the government and the public.

RT is the only news station that is on in my house ever. Now sometimes when my mind is just right I might jump to MSNBC or FOX and get a laugh. But I can’t handle very much of it.

Most of the shit on TV is useless anyway. But I do like BoardWalk Empire. Nucky Thompson is getting ready for war and it’s going to be good!

@ROYSYL:: Sorry, Direct TV does carry RT. It’s called FSTV (Free Speech TV) on channel 348 and while it does not run RT all the time, it features a lot of it along with a bunch of other decent news source material..
