Not to worry, friends and family keep telling me that these riots are “over there.”
“Over there” is apparently a magical world, completely different from our own, with no similarities, nor possibilities, of “over there” coming “over here.”
I guess because most of them couldn’t locate Egypt on a globe, they feel safe in assuming this has nothing to do with us.
I sometimes wish I could be so obtuse.
But can’t. Thanks for posting this.

Actually I got to give huge credit to the people of Egypt, at least they stand up for themselves and fight back, riot and call bullshit on West backed and funded Muslim Brotherhood government. What would it take for Americans to riot? Oh that’s right….replacement NFL referees, and even that was through Twitter!

Fact: If Egypt falls into disarray, so does the whole Middle East. Egypt is the key to either peace or war and the outcome of these riots, demonstrations whatever you want to call them, is, on a geopolitical front, extremely important.
Let’s face it, Egypt is in decline, having now to import fuels on borrowed money and the only income producing things they have are bribes from Iran, tourists around the Pyramids and the Suez Canal. They have the highest population anywhere around the Southern Med rim and probably the most number of fanatics who have been held in secular check for decades by military governments.
If Egypt falls apart and goes Sharia, TSHTF as far as the Middle East is concerned and it will all be a much unfriendlier place and highly unstable in the bargain. Since that would be right in line with an ongoing and deepening 4th Turning, it may indeed happen and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it.
Just one more can of gas dumped on the fire. You can bet Israel is already at a high level of alert with the dogs of war on a short leash.

Egypt has around 7 million acres of arable land for 90 million people = about an eight of an acre per person. Ru-oh. Can you spell s-t-a-r-v-a-t-i-o-n? They are gonna get screwed by that little factoid sooner or later.
The US has more arable land than any other country. Arable land is approx. 2 acres per person in the US. It, along with coal reserves, is one of the biggest long-term positives the US has going for it. Depending on the cost of shipping food, the US could be an absolutely dominant player in food. However, they will need to quit feeding food to livestock sooner or later, so as to take advantage of that posibility.
