COP DEFENDS FIRST AMENDMENT

This is great. And unfortunately very unusual. An Infowars Contributor, Jason Bermas, went to Albany Airport to hand out some flyers. The Airport PR Director attempts to act like a petty dictator, and the sheriff corrects the PR Director and defends the Infowars team. Amazing.

Follow this guys career. He will be fired by the sheriff’s office over some trumped up bullshit, but then open a successful private security firm and do very well. Far too smart to be a cop.

    Weird, another positive cop story.

NYPD officer photographed giving boots to barefoot homeless man melts icy hearts online

A photo of a New York City police officer kneeling down to give a barefoot homeless man in Times Square a pair of boots on a cold November night is melting even the iciest New Yorkers’ hearts online.

On Nov. 14, NYPD officer Lawrence DePrimo, who was on counterterrorism duty in Times Square, saw the older homeless man without shoes sitting on 42nd Street. DePrimo, 25, left and then returned with a pair of $100 boots he bought at a nearby Skechers store.

“It was freezing out, and you could see the blisters on the man’s feet,” DePrimo, a three-year veteran of the department who lives with his parents on Long Island, told the New York Times. “I had two pairs of socks, and I was still cold.”

The random act of kindness was captured by Jennifer Foster, a tourist from Florence, Ariz., who was visiting the city. Foster, communications director for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona, emailed the photo to the NYPD with a note commending DePrimo.

“The officer said, ‘I have these size 12 boots for you, they are all-weather. Let’s put them on and take care of you,’” Foster wrote. “The officer squatted down on the ground and proceeded to put socks and the new boots on this man.

“I have been in law enforcement for 17 years,” she continued. “I was never so impressed in my life. … It is important, I think, for all of us to remember the real reason we are in this line of work. The reminder this officer gave to our profession in his presentation of human kindness has not been lost.”

Foster’s photo was posted on the NYPD’s Facebook page on Tuesday, where it received more than 320,000 “likes,” 77,000 “shares” and 20,000 comments—most of them praising DePrimo, who seems to have restored Facebook’s faith in humanity.

“This is one hell of a police officer,” Desiree Wright-Borden wrote.

“Wow,” Jack Horton wrote. “It’s nice to know there are still good people out there.”

“Angels truly do walk on earth!!!” Charlene Hoffman-Pestell wrote.

Some commenters, though, were skeptical, saying the photo could have been staged.

“Clever stunt!” Louis Zehmke wrote. “The hobo is ‘parked’ at the entrance of a shoe shop.”

But Foster claims DePrimo had no idea he was being photographed: “The officer expected NOTHING in return and did not know I was watching.”

Does anyone else wish that boomer piece-of-shit airport PR Director would just keel over and die. Or that the cop would just shoot him? Or that you could cut his balls off and stuff them in his mouth? (Chatham Police … just kidding … fuckoff.)

First he says they need a million dollar insurance policy. Then he wants to see ID. They he wants them to fill out some paperwork bullshit. Then he lies about them blocking the escalade. I hope that asshole’s asshole explodes in his sleep tonight and that he bleeds to death.

Wow. A decent cop and human being. He won’t last long.

    A couple thoughts from AK:
    A) Fuckin’ A right I’m going to post a comment. Took damn near a half hour to watch this, what with waiting for download. Slow internet sucks, and I have “highspeed”. Yeah right.
    B) This is a pretty cool video. The Infowars crew is cool by mission. The cop is very cool, not just for doing his duty correctly, but for being as professional as he was, even to the asswipe airport PR douchebag. Most importantly, though, if this vid gets an audience, it will promote “opt out”, and discredit airport PR/TSA and restore some faith in freedom and the First Amendment. Pretty heady stuff. Without minimizing the cool cop, the significance of the vid could go much further than that.
    C) Eddie is correct. Ironically, you found a good cop, and probably killed his career (as a cop, at least) by documenting the fact.
    D) Confession/true story time: I have been travelling (by air) a lot more in the last year and a half, mostly for work, some personal. I usually suck it up and get scanned-Fairbanks International only recently got body scanners (we’ve had “old school” metal detectors for years) and it’s easier to comply (in the surrender position-hands over head. I justify this by making a mental note that this is a game, and that I am only playing a role-fully aware that the position is intended to acclimate us to submission). I took my 22 year old daughter with me for my father’s service this summer. She (politely and almost timidly) asked if she could “opt out”. I was both embarrassed at myself and proud as hell of her. As a father, seeing her frisked was not pleasant. But I had to give her kudos for having more integrity than myself.

  11. Kepi says:

I hate to break it to you guys, but the whole cops doing the right thing is usually the norm. Some cops have blind spots a mile wide, sure, but the unfortunate reality is that so many people ecounter bad cops not because so many cops are bad but because bad cops are so busy. I mean, think about it… What do you really want a cop to do? You want him to leave you alone, right? And that’s what good cops do.

Also, the whole private security thing? Those are your “pro-active” flunkies. Those are the guys who love being in other people’s business and don’t like being beholden to rules or laws… You know, like the constitution.

That Deputy is going to have a long, productive career in law enforcement and have a nice long retirement because he’s a pro, and pros get community support and community support gets you information and information gets you the criminal. Good on him, and I’m laughing at the loser asking for a million dollar insurance policy.
