It’s amazing how many people that used to feel compassion and wanted to help the poor are now angry. That job has been taken away from ordinary folks, and is now the responsibility of the government. And to pay for it, our taxes are going up, up, up. It doesn’t help that the government runs billboards encouraging people to sign up for disability and other Federal benefit programs, or that lawyers are on T.V. night and day encouraging people to get on disability so they can get back pay for jobs they never had and live the good life till they die on the gold standard of entitlement programs (disability).
Work is so overrated. Why get a job when you don’t have to work? Nobody has to feed themselves anymore, or secure their own housing, or medical care, or phones. It’s an idyllic paradise really. And, the latest thing for those that choose not to work is to wear fleece pajamas out in public, the ultimate statement of “fuck you, I don’t have to work, I don’t even have to get dressed in the morning”. If you haven’t seen people walking around town in their pajamas, you will. Many cities and townships are passing laws banning people from pajamas in public:
“In Louisiana, the commissioner who proposed the recent anti-pajama ordinance told the Wall Street Journal, “The moral fiber in America is dwindling away. What is it going to be tomorrow? Walking around in your underwear?”
When work and producing are punished, and people are rewarded with free everything not to work, society continues to deteriorate. Working sucks! Get on disability while you still can, there is a ton of “no cost to you” stuff to get! Be set for life!

NO, MR. OBAMA, I DON’T HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF THE LESS FORTUNATE
President Hopenchange gave his usual message today and with it was heavy with the usual BS about helping the poor. At the risk of sounding like a hard-hearted, greedy, sexy bastid, I’m just about sick of the poor! I consider “the poor” to be those who receive welfare payments, food stamps, Section 8 government housing, and all manner of government programs. You know, the ones with new Nike Air Jordans and brand new iPhone 5′s!
It appears to me the “poor” sure get a lot of things paid for by guys like me! You know, guys with jobs and iPhone 4s who work our guts out trying to not go on food stamps! When is President Obama going to be concerned about me? Oh, on the 12th? That’s good! The 12th of Never! If you remember, white guys don’t even exist in the socialist la-la land of Obama and his foaming at the mouth libtard friends!
Obama said today:
“But most of all, it’s a time to give thanks for each other, and for the incredible bounty we enjoy.
That’s especially important this year. As a nation, we’ve just emerged from a campaign season that was passionate, noisy, and vital to our democracy. But it also required us to make choices – and sometimes those choices led us to focus on what sets us apart instead of what ties us together; on what candidate we support instead of what country we belong to ….
We’re also grateful that this country has always been home to Americans who see these blessings not simply as gifts to enjoy, but as opportunities to give back. Americans who believe we have a responsibility to look out for those less fortunate – to pull each other up and move forward together.”
No, Mr. Obama, my responsibility is to take care of my family and me! The government has MADE it my responsibility to take care of others by the force of a gun you hold to my head. If I don’t pay the heavy tax burden you have placed around my neck, I go to jail. So please save the drama telling me it’s my responsibility to take care of the poor! No, it’s not my responsibility…or at least shouldn’t be. It’s the law!
All that cat can do is redistribute wealth! Like I once heard Walter Williams put it perfectly, if I want to give a bum a dollar from my earnings, that is my right to do so. It’s money I have earned. But I have no right to reach into the wallet of my friend and give that bum a dollar of his earnings. I have not earned that money. So how does the government have the right to do the exact thing? Because they have the guns and will put my ass in prison if I don’t pay up each year.
America under Obama and the Dims has become too focused on the poor. None of the remedies of additional welfare and programs will fix the poverty problem in America. Not that any leftist wants “the poor” to become “the wealthy.” Think of all the lost Democrat voters!
More has to be done to reward performers that add to America rather than dole out our money to those who add nothing but dependency! I am not responsible for anyone being in poverty and I shouldn’t have to bear the financial burden of the poor decisions “the poor” have made to remain there. There is no shame being born into poverty. But there is no excuse for doing little to rise above it! Too many on welfare wouldn’t go to work if they got a job as a Playboy photographer! So forgive my lack of compassion for the growing hordes of lazy, unskilled, ignorant welfare mooching hordes who want more from my thin wallet!
Magician Penn Jillette said it along the same lines but far better than I can:
It’s amazing to me how many people think that voting to have the government give poor people money is compassion. Helping poor and suffering people is compassion. Voting for our government to use guns to give money to help poor and suffering people is immoral self-righteous bullying laziness.
People need to be fed, medicated, educated, clothed, and sheltered, and if we’re compassionate we’ll help them, but you get no moral credit for forcing other people to do what you think is right. There is great joy in helping people, but no joy in doing it at gunpoint.
Well, he IS a magician, after all. But he’s exactly right! I’m tired of government looters telling us what OUR responsibility is! Especially libtards. Studies show liberals give less of their own money away than Ebeneezer Scrooge. Like Margaret Thatcher said, “socialists eventually run out of other people’s money to spend.” And they’re quickly running out of mine!
You can weigh in on that if you like. I’d like to hold on to more of what I earn. If I want to help someone, I will. But I won’t ask them or the government for anything!

But if the folks on this site are not going to deal with the REALITY that we live under GANGSTER CAPITALISM, you will just all spend tthe rest of your lives blaming people who are tangential to the real problem: that most people who actually WORK for a living in America are underpaid. fulton,
it’s not gangster capitalism or socialism you dipshit. it’s really fascism/corporatism because that transfer of wealth has been done by those running govt along with their crony capitalists (the most important word being “crony”). Those years between WW2 and Nixon were good because the majority of the world not living in huts was bombed into a shit hole and we provided the resources and industrial base to build it back up. It was not much different than the broken window idea except it spanned generations so those that benefited from it saw little to no harship. They then thought this was the “norm” and expect it to continue even though it was only an abberation.

Obama Partners With Mexico to Boost US Food Stamp Use – Even Though Most Illegal Immigrants Collect Welfare
Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, July 19, 2012, 3:36 PM
It’s as if he wants the country to fail.
The Obama Administration is using a Spanish soap opera format to push food stamps on illegal immigrants and Spanish-speaking Americans:
This is despite the fact that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies.
The Obama USDA is working with Mexico to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or food stamp program.
The Daily Caller reported:
The Mexican government has been working with the United States Department of Agriculture to increase participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or food stamps.
USDA has an agreement with Mexico to promote American food assistance programs, including food stamps, among Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals and migrant communities in America.
“USDA and the government of Mexico have entered into a partnership to help educate eligible Mexican nationals living in the United States about available nutrition assistance,” the USDA explains in a brief paragraph on their “Reaching Low-Income Hispanics With Nutrition Assistance” web page. “Mexico will help disseminate this information through its embassy and network of approximately 50 consular offices.”

Soon, once the whole “other people’s money” becomes a reality and not just a great quote by Thatcher, you will have the chance to be charitable. People such as yourself are going to have a chance to see what lies within your true hearts soon.
Because our current system has reached the point where it makes more logical and financial sense to do less, make less, thus have less to “share” (by gun point) with others. This reality has NEVER been sustained and the end result is ALWAYS shared poverty.
Think your union bosses will be opening their safety rooms to the likes of the hungry, cold, unemployed, rank & file? Good luck with that.

Where did we go in 100 years? Standard oil goons shot union organizers who were striking for a living wage 100 years ago. Scott Nearing, one of my favorite economists, was fired from his faculty position at the Wharton School for writing articles denouncing child labor. This happened in the twentieth century. Actually BOTH these things happened in 1915. (God I hate the way you’ve made me begin to evaluate everything in a generational context)
My, how the pendulum has swung.
The real unions, the ones in the manufacturing sector, got outmaneuvered, while the bureaucrats used their tactics and got fat.
Some unions were always crooked. Like the Teamsters.
Some unions pushed way too far. like the Auto Workers. They are the poster children for workers who asked for too much…
I believe some unions did help working people rise to a living wage at a time when it would have not happened any other way. I’m old enough to remember when labor unions did some good for regular people.
China drove the last nail in the coffins of the industrial unions of this country. Other than government job unions.
I see a connection with the breaking of the industrial unions in this country, with the rise of the…”half percent”. (We should use that term. One Percent is inaccurate.) I think there is something to that. The unions got completely outmaneuvered. I wonder if Kissinger had any idea what would ultimately happen, as it has unfolded, when he opened the China door?
The unions that might have mad a difference in balancing the forces of productive working people (as opposed to bureaucrats) against the corporations have been effectively killed off sometime back.
I think your teachers unions and fire and police unions…they are a completely different animal than the labor unions of 1915.
Apples and oranges.

A thing not mentioned is with the jobs leaving the usa,the amount of jobs left isnt exactly good.
The desire for cheap labor.(mexicans here in az) hasnt helped any.And it sure isnt going to get better.
Im wondering where the government expects the money to come from?
And look at the moaning and crying if the largest military on earth has to cough up some cuts.
The desire for bloated unions dosent make any sense.Non union taxpayers are having to fund theyre underfunded pensions as it is.
Were screwed.

As Sean Hannity would say, you sir are a Great American. Keep posting. Admin is just jealous.
You and I have a lot in common.
I too served in a war … Vietnam … where I got the Medal of Honor, three Purple Stars, two Commendations, and a partridge in a pear tree.
After the war, I too, became a professor at an Ivy League school where I taught Stuckyism Economics, the main idea being stick-it-to-them before they stick it to you. In other words, how to be a union member.
But, that bored me and then I went ahead and invented the Internet. I also invented WordPress, one of my lesser accomplishments.
After that, I discovered the Higgs Pecker particle — a distant relative to the Higgs Bosom particle — which I used to invent nuclear fusion, patent pending and soon to be released.
Yup. I did all that. So, fer sure, you and me is the two smartest motherfuckers on this site. Your epic beat down of Admin is a thing of beauty. I live in NJ and would love to buy you coffee and shit.
Peace.

Fulton makes the same tired old disconnected argument that somehow it is the responsibility of “some” private US citizens to pay some “other” US citizens a “living wage”, which happens to be multiples higher than a “living wage” for the same job in most other countries around the world.
That had an outside chance of working at one time, but the vote is since in, and Americans choose to buy their stuff from other countries, made by foreign workers, where wages and benefits are a fraction of what they are here.
Maybe you can take a shot and answer this question. How does a country with a monthly current account deficit stretching uninterrupted back to 1975 maintain the wherewithal to sustain the lifestyle you think we all deserve?

I predicted Fulton was a boomer first. They’re not hard to spot. No matter what they do (or don’t do) they think they’re so very special.
So much for the post topic, as usual, but (unfortunately) has not gone to T&A yet.

AWD says:
Is This Why Americans Have Lost The Drive To “Earn” More
In the recent past we noted the somewhat startling reality that “the single mom is better off earning gross income of $29,000 with $57,327 in net income & benefits than to earn gross income of $69,000 with net income and benefits of $57,045.” While mathematics is our tool – as opposed to the mathemagics of some of the more politically biased media who did not like our message – the painful reality in America is that: for increasingly more Americans it is now more lucrative – in the form of actual disposable income – to sit, do nothing, and collect various welfare entitlements, than to work. This is such an important topic that we felt it necessary to warrant a second look. The graphic below quite clearly, and very painfully, confirms that there is an earnings vacuum of around $40k in which US workers are perfectly ambivalent toward inputting more effort since it does not result in any additional incremental disposable income.

We have been writing for over a year, how the very top of America’s social order steals from the middle class each and every day. Now we finally know that the very bottom of the entitlement food chain also makes out like a bandit compared to that idiot American who actually works and pays their taxes. One can only also hope that in addition to seeing their disposable income be eaten away by a kleptocratic entitlement state, that the disappearing middle class is also selling off its weaponry. Because if it isn’t, and if it finally decides it has had enough, the outcome will not be surprising at all:
But for now, just stick head in sand, and pretend all is good. Self-deception is now the only thing left for the entire insolvent entitlement-addicted world.

Kissinger and Nixon knew damn well what they were doing when they brokered the peace with China.
The whole idea was to open as many slave labor havens to American business as possible and to undercut American workers.
The old line Republican Party has always had the goal of reducing working and middle class Americans to dirt-floor poverty and a sack of meal in return for 14 hours a day hard labor.
That is why they have always supported infinite population growth and have been wed to the Christian Right since the 40s. I suggest everyone read The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power, by Jeff Sharlet, who was once part of it.
And that is also why we fought the wars in Korea and Vietnam, and why tens of thousands of my male boomer brethren died in Nam. If the entire male population of the U.S. had understood the REAL reason we were in Nam (and Indochina and all the other 3rd world cesspools of slavery and poverty) not a single man of any age would have supported that treasonous, immoral war.

The Stucky Pecker Particle has some unusual attributes.
First, as hard as it is to believe, the particle shrinks substantially when exposed to cold.
Second, to excite this particular particle it has to be doused in a solution of 10 parts Viagra and 1 part Spanish fly. If the solution is successful, the particle will stay excited for only around 1 second, then falls into the equivalent of a deep sleep, and nothing will manage to re-excite the particle for at least 8 hours.
Third, if you douse the particle with alcohol, no amount of the Viagra/Spanish Fly solution will produce an excited stage. It enters a period of sleep, and canot be excited for at least 12 hours.
It is truly an unusual particle.

LLPOH,
Your intimate knowledge of Stuck’s particle is disturbing.
More to the point, I wanted to address AWD’s very first image in his article. This is a cropped image of a billboard. The very same billboard that I have been driving past for the last two months. This is not a photoshopped joke. It is real and it’s also in Great Falls, Montana. In the extrene right of this image you can see a hand clasping an elbow. The rest of the billboard features (by now broke) ex-star trek actors preening for the camera. Notice the stars in the background in the image.
As unsettling as it was to see this advertisement by whoever it was that paid for it, it got worse when I started to think about who they were targeting with the Star Trek theme

It is a real billboard. I see it every weekend. I don’t know why it’s cropped, but it’s the only image I could find. Maybe because it has Sulu, the gay star trek actor. Obama and the dems want everyone on the government dole, and they aren’t shy about advertising it. They got the vote locked down for 2012 ad infinitum, and they’re raising taxes ad infinitum to get and keep the FSA on the dole. We, as a country, therefore, are finished. Forward! to socialism.

I have to agree with crazyivan, your archrival, regarding your detailed knowledge of the Stucky Pecker Particle. I believe you are collaborating with Ms Freud.
Nevertheless, you forgot to mention that the fuckin’ particle throws up when excited, which results in thousands of other SPPs littering the area, but they have a half life of just 10 minutes, so I’m not to worried about it.
