Not trying to argue the merits of the American Revolution, but in general, do we not consider it immoral when 10% of any group makes choices that drastically affect the rest of the group? Conversely, 90% cannot morally coerce the 10%. It seems to be a conundrum. I suppose one could argue that freeing “slaves” is always moral, but is “freeing” non-chattel “slaves” that are more-or-less content moral? All I know is that oppression is wrong. It would be one thing if the 10% merely revolted to demand better treatment, but it is quite another thing when 10% revolt and set up a new country for the rest (even though for us the Constitution wasn’t a bad document). To me it is just trading the old boss for the new boss.

Too much to go into on what the American Revolution was fought for and why. But basically it was because the British government ran up a huge debt, and wanted the colonists to pay their “fair share.”
So the mother country started passing tax after new tax on the colonists. The pisser was the colonists could not vote for the members of parliament who voted on the new taxes, they just had to take it up the ass. You know, that entire taxation without representation stuff.
So the King started to confiscate land and charge new fees for just about anything.
It was time for some real “change” and the 3%ers showed up and kicked ass.

Half the people maybe pacified with all the free shit and more frees shit. The wars and rage on and the police state grows lining the pockets of the Military-Security-Police State Complex. The Corporation’ are subsidized and all low wage employers are backdoor subsidized with government assistance programs for their underplayed labor that still can’t compete with foreign wages and work hours.
The dependencies of most nations, of all groups and classes no matter their plight or agenda if they have one are so interwoven the system holds together. Though incredibly resilient and impervious to realities and math the world system of mutual fraud, delusion corruption, greed, desire and need at the lowest to highest levels will all come apart at the seams sooner or later.
Someone is paying and will have to pay for it and/or take on debt to afford it. Maybe the 3% representing those so burdened my become belligerent. But even if there is no outright armed revolution things will not end well for those in government or for us. When the dam bursts it will be Historic ugly. Deadly Ugly. And for most Final Ugly.
We are Doomed.

I figure that eventually, much like now for LLPOH, HZK and thousands of small business owners, it will become pointless for individuals to go to work anymore. A point will be reached when fuel, food etc become so expensive that your wages will not pay for it. That is gonna be the breaking point I think. When people who WANT to work but can no longer do so, when they reach THAT point, it will be game over. Break out the pitchforks.
We might get there sooner if Congress does not get to kicking the can down the road with respect to unemployment insurance extensions. Imagine all those people with no more income. The FEMA CAMPS should be full of FSA members with “malfunctioning” EBT & SNAP cards long before they get around to rounding the rest of us up.

I am by no means an intellectual, but it seem funny to me that a mere 3% could over throw what was then the great power of the world. Not only that but the spark that started it was a mere 1% tax on tea. If we step back an compare todays situation to then there are ridiculous similarities. The names have changed but the situation is the same. We have a president instead instead of a king who can do pretty much whatever he wants and get away with it (including voter fraud). We have a congress instead of parliament. Who can increase thier pay at will and simple create another tax to foot the bill. Then there’s the american people instead of the colonies. The thing that really makes me mad about this is at least the 3% of the colonist were willing to do something about it. I really don’t think you could find 1% that weren’t so lazy they would be willIng to do something. As an American I am ashamed at what we have become. I am ashamed for those who have fought and died for such a useless body of people. It would have been better to have let the whole thing burn and spared the blood. I only hope that someday the people get tired of it and organize again. I will be one of the first in line to sign up.
