Reading uber-doomers makes me depressed. Especially since their science looks pretty good to me.

Some days even prepping seems futile. Hard to stay focused on the future when it looks like mankind and most of the crittters on the earth are short-timers.

2013. Another depressing depression year. Get used to it.

Obama is doing more damage to this country than was ever imaginable that any human could do. A cartoon character couldn’t increase the deficit by $4.6 trillion (cliff deal), in addition to $1.3 trillion per year.

What everyone really wants to know is will Alfred E. Neuman give out free shit? That is the only thing that matter is getting elected.

Depression is anger turned inwards. Very nasty stuff, prevents you from prepping and being aware of whats going on. Exercise removes anger/depression very well, try it some time. Your health is your most valuable asset. The unhealthy will be the first to die off when they can’t get their 12 meds anymore. Don’t be a victim to anything, including depression!

    Good advice, no doubt.

But in my estimation, there is a difference between seasonal affective diisorder…or even being bipolar…and the kind of depresssing REALITY that we now face. If the world is going to shit, happiness might be more pathological than depression.

If you’ve become depressed because of things going on outside of you, then you’ve lost all perspective. You decide how to interpret that which is happening outside, you run it through your filters and draw conclusions. The choice is yours.

Depression is natural in this place in time. But, you can beat it. Believe in something higher than yourself (higher than humans), and practice meditation. This will provide some guidance, but, more importantly, a buffer between you and the world around you. I try to meditate every day, so no matter what happens, my center is good and peaceful. Don’t be a chump and victim to what happens around you. That’s exactly what THEY want. Take responsibility for yourself and your mental and physical health. Meditation and exercise can cure absolutely any problem you may have. Your health (mental and physical) are everything, the only thing that matters.

Like the Asians say: “if you lose your money, you lose a lot. If you lose your health, you lose everything”.

You’re preachin’ to the choir, AWD, I am a proponent of both exercise and meditation. Thanks for the pep talk. I’ll take it under advisement.

Luckily for me, never-ending, chronic, soul crushing pain is my constant companion. Soul crushing pain leaves no room for depression or hate. It does allow a tiny cubby-hole of happiness and joy but not too much as soul crushing pain is a high maintenance bitch.
