Posted on The Market Ticker. I hope everyone does what they can to resist. When I hear these people speak, I hear the powerful sound of righteousness.

    A supposed law enforcement officer had a letter posted in my local paper yesterday in which he made the point that a shotgun was adequate for the protection of any person’s home and that high capacity handguns and assault rifles were not.

    I replied that I realized that there were dangerous criminals out there that LEO’s had to deal with but these same violent criminals were the same people the citizen would have to face as well and that if the police felt it necessary to have high capacity magazines and assault rifles to deal with them why shouldn’t a citizen, who has no back up, not also be allowed to possess the very same firearms the police use when confronting dangerous felons. I don’t see cops carrying revolvers anymore so if they don’t find those adequate to defend their lives why should I.

    Nothing would make me happier than to see New Yorkers tell Cuomo to shove his new law. But I don’t see it. The shitstain was elected, right? Bloomberg was elected, right? No doubt there are a lot of stand-up, patriotic, Constitution-respecting New Yorkers. But there are even more FSA Cuomo-electing cum-bubbles. I learned one thing from Les Miserables-if you wait for the non-committed common folk to join your (righteous) cause, you will be disappointed. Sorry-reality bites.
