Sylvestor Stallone’s new movie is BULLET TO THE HEAD. He came out this week in favor of a ban on assault weapons. That’s funny.

‘Bullet to the Head’ star Sylvester Stallone says he wants additional gun control
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Sylvester Stallone says that despite his “Rambo” image and new shoot-em-up film “Bullet to the Head,” he’s in favour of new national gun control legislation.
Stallone supported the 1994 “Brady bill” that included a now-expired ban on assault weapons, and hopes that ban can be reinstated.
“I know people get (upset) and go, ‘They’re going to take away the assault weapon.’ Who … needs an assault weapon? Like really, unless you’re carrying out an assault. … You can’t hunt with it. … Who’s going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?”
The 66-year-old actor, writer and director said he also hopes for an additional focus on mental health to prevent future mass shootings.
“It’s unbelievably horrible, what’s happened. I think the biggest problem, seriously, is not so much guns. It’s that every one of these people that have done these things in the past 30 years are friggin’ crazy. Really crazy! And that’s where we’ve dropped the ball: mental health,” he said. “That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation.”

I’m tellin’ you. This gun grabbing move by the lefties may just have awoken the sleeping giant, finally.
The pro gun crowd managed to shut down the largest outdoor show in the world when it was discovered that some of the sponsors of the show came down on the side of the gun grabbers.
Let’s just see what Lord Ovamatoid says today in Minneapolis on the subject of guns. He is spending millions of our (non-existent) tax dollars flying there today
Oh, and the Senate is prepared to “move” on gun control.
There is a bright note: Piers Morgan is coming to a Texas gun range today to actually talk to a fire arms dealer and fire guns at his range. This should be as funny as watching Lord Ovamatoid shoot his skeet gun. Hope Piers has plenty of spare underwear!!!

Who’s going to attack your house Sly? How about a fucking mob of FSA scum on the prowl when the government benefits run out. Maybe you out to look at some old film footage of the LA riots of 1965 and 1994 to refresh your steroid clouded mind of just how thin that blue line is.
You think you are going to be OK if a 7.5 or better earthquake rumbles through the Hollywood hills and the stores aren’t restocked because the freeways and rail links into the LA basin are cut. Maybe you can whistle up a helicopter for fly your ass out of the disaster zone, in fact you better count on being able to because if you can’t you are going to wish you had kept some of those Rambo guns you posed with.

Yeah, it’s okay to make a hundred movies glorifying the shit out of shoot-’em-ups, but that doesn’t give him any responsibility when wacko kids emulate his Rambo bullshit. Such willful ignorance!

Has Sly had a change of heart, or is he a hypocritical douchebag? (Or both?) In the mid 80s, I frequently shot at the Beverly Hills gun club, an indoor range, interestingly enough, not in Beverly Hills but rather in West LA on a few blocks from the welding shop where I was working. Sly was a principle owner, and the lobby was wallpapered with Sly-signed targets, showing his proficiency with a wide assortment of handguns. BHGC was a pretty nice 50′ facility, and not too expensive. I understand it has been shut down for a long time.

Sangell: You don’t have to wait for the FSA and they aren’t the only problem. People riot when their sports team wins-or loses. They riot when they don’t like a jury verdict. They riot on ‘Devil’s Night’. They riot when they don’t like the price of food (not in the USA-yet). Like I’ve said before; ask someone who was protecting their home or business during the LA riots if they wouldn’t need an ‘assault’ rifle. Hollywood, like politicians, is vastly out of touch with the real world.

PlatoPlubius says:
That’s funny that you mention it…I was watching an interview with Brian DePalma…director of Scarface and other movies and he was all for prohibiting the public from owning assault weapons. He used the story of the guy in China who went into the classroom and stabbed a bunch of kids as his justification for that saying “If the guy had an assault rifle more of the kids would have died.”
The disconnect is extreme and can only be explained through ignorance. I can’t remember how many of my Gen Xer friends had a Scarface poster in their room as we were growing up. They emulated Tony Montana and Depalma directed it and sees no connection between the glamorized violent style of film and a generation who has no problem resorting to violence when something doesn’t go their way.

I read his new movie bombed big time. Could it be, his viewers – mostly older, white males who are generally gun owners and conservative see through his hypocrisy?
That said, when the FSA is on the move, the Hollywood elite will simply fly in their private jets to their private Islands or in Stallone’s case, his 10,000 acre ranch in Argentina. .

Can’t hunt with them? A semi auto .223 is a great varmint and small game rifle. I don’t have one but I’ve shot a few. Love the Mini 14.
Who’s going to assault your house? Who the fuck cares. Hopefully no one. But if they do…… be it one guy or ten guys the faster the reloading and the more ammo capacity the better.
I would expect that the type of criminals the police need fully automatic assault rifles for could be the same kind an individual might have to deal with while waiting for the police to show up.
Gun control morons. They fear we live in the wild west. Well…..guess what?….. We do, and always have. Freedom means most people are basically free to get around and some go wild because they can. So naturally freedom has elements of danger if for no other reason than the high percentage of morons on the loose.
Criminals will always be armed and freedom will always be threatened by tyranny. That’s why we need all kinds of guns and more and better ones too. That is……… if we choose freedom. But freedom, even after tragedy and trauma is a lot more safe than anything else.
Unfortunately the esteemed Bankers will not choose freedom so neither will our politicians. We are doomed.

I want to second the sentiment expressed by another poster on TBP:
There seems to be widespread support in the US Govt. for the Syrian rebels that joined local militias and acquired automatic assault rifles as part of their arsenal in defending themselves.
So…what’s the difference?
