Of the three things above It would be illegal for me to own two of them.

Not that I could afford either one.

  4. Administrator says:

“Fearful people are more dependent, more easily manipulated and controlled, more susceptible to deceptively simple, strong, tough measures and hard-line postures. They may accept and even welcome repression if it promises to relieve their insecurities.”

Admin’s picture presentation is awesome in it’s humor … and truthfulness. The Gerbner quote about repression and insecurities reminds me of a story.

Nasrudin is a poor man and his diet consists of chickpeas and bread. His neighbor, who claimed to be a wise man, was living in a grand house and dining on sumptuous meals provided by the Emperor himself. His neighbor told Nasrudin, “if only you would learn to flatter the Emperor and be subservient like I do, you would not have to live on chickpeas and bread.” Nasrudin replied, “and if only you would learn to live on chickpeas and bread, like I do, you would not have to flatter and live subservient to the Emperor.

If only more of us would learn to love chick peas and bread!

@harry p. : Nah! There was a whorehouse running inside the tent and to prevent any moral decay away from our Taliban allies, we bombed the tent for their own good.

  10. AWD says:

How about the FACT that we are paying China enough interest on the debt (of ours they hold) to fund their entire military?

At least camel jockeys treat their women well. Muck, it was not a whore house, being a whore is punishable by death. On the bright side, if your wife runs off with a coal miner, you can light her on fire. I wish we had sharia law here.

  11. sangell says:

You could say the same about WW2. The US sends 500 bombers carrying 10 bombs each to bomb a ball bearing factory. You lose 50 airplanes, maybe 10 bombs hit the factory and its back up and running in two weeks time. Of course that factory being down for two weeks maybe cut tank production by 100 and saved 10,000 men at Anzio, or maybe not. Its not linear.

OTOH 6000 Marines died on Iwo Jima so 100 B-29′s didn’t have ditch in the ocean. Not a good trade if you are Marine but if it meant you could fire bomb Tokyo in March 1945 and kill 125,000 Japanese in one night you can see why the Japanese thought losing the island a severe defeat.

I personally don’t think we are gaining much battling al Qaeda in Yemen or Afghanistan. The 70 million dollar jet and the $350,000 bomb should be used on whomever rules that country if they allow any group to attack the US from their territory.

  12. IndenturedServant says:

I’m currently reading a book called Horse Soldiers. It’s about the very first CIA paramilitary and US Special Forces to enter Afghanistan after 9/11. One of the Americans described the surreal situation as The Jetsons meet The Flintstones.

The book is a very easy and read and will provide insights to the situation in Afghanistan that will blow your mind. The part about the Skittles candy still has me laughing.

  14. JACKSON, who would rather spend his money on GIRLS, GAMES, and GOLF, says:

“Modern Warfare is Modern WELFARE” could have been another title for this series of photos.

When the spendy plane drops the $350,000 bomb on the spindly tent, another bomb needs to replace the one dropped and other expenses as well need to be covered. That’s well for war industries, war nerds, and gunslingers, all supported by us cash-strapped taxpayers. But how more war welfare should our worn-out wallets have to pay for?

Shouldn’t there be a limit on how many Flintstones we Jetsons (IndenturedServant) have to kill before American tax slaves (flash) can say that we’ve gotten rid of all the tent tarts (MuckAbout) and their camel jockeys (AWD), who hate us for our freedoms (harry p.), we need to murder, and we can bring our Horse Soldiers home?

  15. Ron says:

Im just curious why we have bombs that can flatten citys and instead we spend billions over many years.
The guvment keeps yapping about our national security.Do any of you fear towel heads thousands of miles away? Is it all about money? Someone(hell many) in guvment have a small dick?and its the cause of all this.
I guess with the votes that RP got,He was just to smart to get elected.

  16. Outtahere says:

Hey! It’s the American way. We don’t fight wars anymore to win, to solve a problem. It has now become Big Business, at least for some of the Elitists. And WE pay the price in blood, limbs, lives of our young men and women and of course we force our grandchildren into debt for their lives.
