Northeast Braces For Historic Blizzard
Widespread power outages and travel disruptions are expected from a massive nor’easter that is projected to bring up to two feet of snow in Boston and nearly a foot of snow in New York City starting tomorrow. What do you think?

I was watching the WeatherChannel last to hoping to here that the snow would be hundreds of inches deep and that millions would perish but they were able to report that some Northeastern supermarkets had to hire ‘bouncers’ to control the crazed shoppers who believe two feet of snow will end civilization as we know it.
While I realize some people live paycheck to paycheck it is hard for me to imagine someone whose home is so threadbare of food and supplies as to not be able to endure for 2 or 3 days without resupply. This isn’t a hurricane which forces people out of their homes. This is a snowstorm that forces people to stay in their homes. Kids used to celebrate heavy snowfalls. It meant no school, bringout the sleds and having snowball fights. Moms made beef stew or something warm to eat and the Dads got to show their manliness by actually building a fire in the fireplace.

Admin,
I am in the 30+” zone out nere where 495 crosses 95. This should be fun. Today is a “work from home day” so I will keep you posted, the snow started about an hour ago. I went to the local Shaw’s Supermarket this morning to get a few ingedients for cooking this weekend. I am always have a well stocked fridge, freezer and pantry, so it was only a small trip. The shelves were stripped of bread, water, milk and snack food. I could only laugh as I left cars were pouring in. Last night on the way home driving past the Burlington Market Basket it was absolutely grid locked. Getting diesel for the Jetta at Rojo Gas on RT 1 was a mad house, fortunately the diesel is a seperate pump, I was out of that zoo quickly. This will not end well for some.
Thank you,
Bob.
P.S The last significant snow storm that I had to commute home in it was a six hour drive to go 32 miles.

AWD’s method doesn’t work for me at all. I do NOT get “copy image location” when I right click on the picture. Maybe it’s my version of IE.
Anyway, here is a detailed step-by-step process. This only SEEMS like a pain in the ass. Go through the steps once or twice and you’ll see how easy it really is. Once I find a picture it takes me about 5 seconds.
======= =
1)- Go to google.com, and click on the “images” tab
2)- Do a search. In this example I searched for “camel toe”
3)- Select a picture. I selected the 3rd one on the top row,
4)- Place your mouse over the picture.
5)- Intentionally left blank.
6)- You will see the picture size. In this case 1038 x 904. This is IMPORTANT; the first number is the WIDTH of the picture. 1038 is much too large. The maximum size should be 500. (The second number, 904, is the length, and you can ignore it.)
7)- Click on the picture.
8)- You will see the picture on the left, and a Picture Information on the right.
8a)- IF the picture is greater than 500 wide – and it is in this example — then click on the light grey words “more sizes”. You will be shown all the available sizes. Click on any picture where the first number is 500 or less.
9) Right click on the picture and select “properties”. It’s the bottom most selection.
10) The properties screen pops up.
11) You will see a label “Address (URL)”. Highlight it. Then hold down the ctrl and then the c key at the same time. That’s a shortcut for copy.
12) Go back to TBP.
13) Under the Submit Comment label you’ll see “You can add images to your comment by clicking here.” Click on the blue underlined “click here”.
14) A box pops up. The word “undefined” is highlighted in blue. Get rid of it. Just hit the ‘del’ key or backspace key. Then hold down the ctrl then the v key at the same time. This is a shortcut for paste. It will paste the url you copied in step 11.
15) Click on the OK button. You’re done. Here’s your picture.

The Mac mouse, is stupid, you can buy a cheap USB mouse with TWO buttons to click.

Thanks I will try that. Yes, our pissant, lame duck governor known as mini-me, has basically declared marshall law. The same governor who has proposed to increase the income tax on the people who work and lower the taxes on the people who don’t actually pay much in taxes i.e. the sales tax. He is out to rival former Governor Dukakis in the incompetency for a future run for the presidency. This state has no shortage of idiots, fools, and thier spawn. On the good side we are in full Nor’easter mode and we expect to get thunder snow storms, which if you have not seen lightening in a blizzard at night it is a sight to behold. The winds have only gusted to 55 MPH.

I know about the strange purple, squishy balls found in the desert. But I’m too bummed out right now to check it out. I just lost Fred.
Fred was a hummingbird who frequented my backyard for the past year. I started to gain his confidence by approaching him and getting closer ever so slowly, and in the past month he would fly up to me, right in my face, several times a day and say hello, then buzz over to the hummingbird feeder. I just knew it would be a matter of days or weeks until I could get Fred to either perch on my shoulder or drink some sugar water from the palm of my hand.
Alas, it was not to be. We have a large, 6-foot picture window which into the backyard and desert beyond. Because of the reflection thrown by the window, birds occassionly fly into it. Yesterday, I found Fred dead at the base of the window. He got a quiet burial in our herb garden.
ACTUAL PICTURE OF FRED. RIP, MY LITTLE FEATHERED FRIEND.
