However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

Admin,
My brother and I worked at the Ground Round in Norwell, MA in 1978. We were cleaning out the attic and there was an handmade old poster advertising Orr and Ocasek at the Ground Round with there pictures taped to the poster. We had this taped to the wall of the porch for years. For those who are not Cars fans you can look it up. “Moving in Stereo” was a great driving around song as was every song on the first album. I might be tainted as I listened to them driving around in a 1969 Cougar convertable.
Thank you,
Bob.

I also remember friends who would go to local high shool gigs and see Aerosmith in the early 70′s. I was still a little young, but I belive the played at Marshfield High or Marshfield Fairgrounds around 1971-72. You could see a great deal of good music cheep back in the 1970′s. Although I do remember a concert at the Cape Cod Colesium where Steven Tyler passed out. All and all he looks pretty good for all the drugs he did back then.

Tom Rush. Funny talented singer and guitar picker.
Dick Dale. I’m glad Quentin Tarantino gave him an homage. Great sound.
Joan Baez. Amazing, always. Diamonds and Rust is on my bucket list to learn.
James Taylor. In sixth grade I didn’t get why all the girls were so crazy about him.
Dropkick Murphys…my kids turned me on to them.
Boston, J.Geils, Aerosmith….I’m not a fan, really of any of these.
Cars…okay, not my style of Rock.
I’m not sure if you listen to jazz, but both Chick Correa and Roy Haynes are from Boston, I believe.

Never really got into Aerosmith. I saw J. Geils open for the Stones back in 1982 for about $5.00. I’ve always liked Boston and finally saw them for free at The Gorge in George before Brad Delp whacked himself.

Stucky,
I never new Dick Dale was from Boston. I was sure he was from California. It is funny his music combines his Lebanese roots with his rock blazing guitar. This song Miserlou is a Middle Eastern song sped up and rocked out.

Damn. TBP is just a wealth of information. I’d have never guessed Dick Dale was from Boston either. What a master!

Steven Tyler and Ric Ocasek prove that old adage, if you’re ugly as sin learn to sing rock and roll. Sure worked for them-and Tom Petty too.
