Via Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

The NDAA lawsuit is one of the key topics we have written about over the past year or so. For those of you that aren’t up to speed, one of the most popular posts we ever wrote was NDAA: The Most Important Lawsuit in American History that No One is Talking About. Basically, Section 1021 of the NDAA allows for the indefinite detention of American citizens without charges or a trial. Journalist Chris Hedges and several others sued Obama on the grounds of it being unconstitutional. Judge Katherine Forrest agreed and issued an injunction on it. This was immediately appealed by the Obama Administration to a higher court, which promptly issued a temporary stay on the injunction.

Yesterday, oral arguments began in front of this aforementioned higher court; the 2nd Circuit. As Chris Hedges states in the interview below, if they win the case then it will likely be brought in front of the Supreme Court within weeks. On the other hand, if the Obama Administration wins and the Supreme Court refuses to hear the appeal, Hedges states: “at that point we’ve just become a military dictatorship.”

The douchebag already thinks he’s a dictator

I don’t always agree with Chris Hedges, but he’s a great American and I admire this stand he’s making on behalf of all of us. I do still have some hope that reason and justice will prevail.

Chris Hedges is a RADICAL global warmer. Radical.

On the one hand, he predicts a military dictatorship from the NDAA, yet on the other hand supports a bureaucratic dictatorship from the likes of EPA, the Sierra Club, the Department of Interior, and Obummer. This fucker’s thinking on global warming is flat-ass dangerous. He’s a hypocritical moron whose views deserve no attention from this website.

Before you hit the thumbs down button, consider this wise choice. No to NDAA. No to climate change bullshit. No to dumbasses like Chris Hedges.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 8

Are you a member of the Flat Earth Society? Here’s another radical, Naomi Klein, author of Shock Doctrine:

I disagree with many of Chris Hedges’ views. I also agree with many of his views. I’m capable of distinguishing. It’s called not being an ideologue. Try it sometime.

He is right on the NDAA. He is right on the Wall Street banks. He was right on OWS. He is right about the corporate fascists that run this country. He bashes Obama and Holder.

Smart people can disagree and still learn something from each other.

When were you going to step up to the plate and lead the fight against the NDAA, like Hedges?

    Sound of crickets.

Ron Paul’s views on drugs is RADICAL according to you. How can you possibly support this RADICAL?

Bill Maher and Ron Paul are both in favor of ending the war on drugs. But agree on little else. You can agree with some views and not others. If you agree with everything a person says, find someone new. Nobody wants to be “wrong” so they hang out with, read/watch those who share the exact same views. Well if you are truly “wrong” and realize it, and learn from it, you have acheived a higher level of knowledge. You know more than you did before. It is those who you do not agree with, you can potentially learn the most from. There should be a place on this website for Hedges and whoever else may have an opposing view.

Did I say above, “No to NDAA?” Why, I believe I did. One key feature about NDAA is that its more odious features can, and are, being challenged in court and shouted out in public forums. The drone controversy comes to mind here.

But the global warming issue and its fellow travelers in government agencies, environmental groups, and public universities are largely above the legal fray. And that’s a huge difference. Huge.

We’ve got faceless, souless bureaucrats who have put the brakes on mining operations everywhere and shut down power plants by the dozens. All this has thrown tens of thousands of people out of work. Couple that with idiots like Obama who pick winners and losers in the energy sector, and you have a ready-made recipe for significant damage not only to the national economy but the average middle class pocketbook through water and electric bills going up by an average 10-15% a year.

And its going to get worse in the next 5 years when some of these senseless EPA rules start to really kick in. For example, the Southwest, including southern California, faces a possible 40% jump in water rates in that timeframe. Now who do you think is going to get hurt the most by that? The little guy, of course.

Businesses and individuals who can afford it and try to battle the EPA in court nearly always lose. The best outcome is usually “a delay” in implementing the mandated changes. Big fucking deal. In the end, it’s still going to hit the consumer with higher costs.

And THAT’S where I’m coming from. Chris Hedges can fight the NDAA in court. The foremost climate scientist in the country and global warming skeptic, Richard Lindzen, doesn’t stand a fucking chance in the court of public opinion, much less a court of law.
