Where is the outrage? Where is the Noble Peace Prize winner? Where are the cries against “gun violence?
Oh … wait … they’re Afghani kids. They don’t count.
================
“A NATO airstrike killed 10 Afghan civilians, including five children, in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, local officials said. The airstrike came within hours of U.S. President Barack Obama’s declaration that he would be withdrawing half the U.S. troops in Afghanistan – 34,000 – by the end of this year”

On the bright side, the US Military is on top of this like stink on shit. The US military is facing fresh questions over its targeting policy in Afghanistan after a senior army officer suggested that troops were on the lookout for “CHILDREN WITH POTENTIAL HOSTILE INTENT”. Kill those mutherfuckers, I say! You can read about it in the article, headlined “Some Afghan kids aren’t bystanders” here;
http://www.militarytimes.com/news/2012/12/marine-taliban-kids-120312w/
More Good News!! Last Sunday, our glorious military killed three children who were gathering shit (for fuel). “When we reached the area I saw the three bodies of children, two boys and one girl, ages 8 to 12 years old. They were from the same family,” said Haji Hayatullah, a member of the tribal council in the Nawa district. Fuckin’ A!!! We are definitely kicking some ass now. Dumbass kids. The war is as good as won. We’re #1!!

There was a time…not that long ago, really, in the overall scope of things…when, in order to make war, you had to be brave, and willing to put your own life on the line…to literally be willing to fight to the death for your cause.
And that was good, because nobody was willing to do that for some ridiculous, trumped up reason. You had to have a damn good reason to go to war…like, if you didn’t, you were going to be annihilated.
Now cowardly men make war from bunkers, against the children of men on the other side of the world, whose threat is that might not be willing to accept the complete and total domination of the empire.
Talk about a new world. It is a new world. But don’t ever call it a Brave New World. Bravery has been made redundant. And war has been made easy. So war is going to be real popular in some quarters…for as long as the technology holds out.

Check this out, a new medal has been created to award drone pilots for killing innocents and for geeks who can create cyber attacks on our other enemy’s.
They fight the war from computer consoles and video screens.
But the troops that launch the drone strikes and direct the cyberattacks that can kill or disable an enemy may never set foot in the combat zone. Now their battlefield contributions may be recognized.
“I’ve seen firsthand how modern tools, like remotely piloted platforms and cyber systems, have changed the way wars are fought,” Panetta said. “And they’ve given our men and women the ability to engage the enemy and change the course of battle, even from afar.”
The work they do “does contribute to the success of combat operations, particularly when they remove the enemy from the field of battle, even if those actions are physically removed from the fight,” he said.
The new blue, red and white-ribboned Distinguished Warfare Medal will be awarded to individuals for “extraordinary achievement” related to a military operation that occurred after Sept. 11, 2001. But unlike other combat medals, it does not require the recipient risk his or her life to get it.
Officials said the new medal will be the first combat-related award to be created since the Bronze Star in 1944.

I’ve been thinking about that for half an hour.
I think it’s one of the saddest things ever written about the American state of mind.
So.
So.
Sad.

I feel like I am living in somekind of alternative universe.
Barack Obama and the other “architects” of the drone program have the blood of at least 120 children in Pakistan and Yemen on their hands yet all you hear from the MSM/Fox/Bloggersphere is fucking CRICKETS. The Fast & Furious program has killed hundreds of Mexicans and two border agents – again fucking CRICKETS.
Face it. Waterboarding, which the libs went ballistic over, was done to 3 people and nobody died.
It is like the Christopher Dorner thing. This guy was ALLEGED to have shot these people, but there is NO PROOF, no ballastics, no eye witnesses – just an on line manifesto that could have been penned by anyone. And oh, how convenient, Dorner was killed and his body burned to a crisp.
Meanwhile the LAPD shot several people, vehicles and an entire neighborhood – CRICKETS.
Huh?

I just spent five fucking days at the happiest place on earth.
There will not be some groundswell of outrage over the reality of our government. Whatever they do here, or there, is alright by most.
We Americans will continue stuffing our fucking fat faces on overpriced hot dogs while scooting around on a rascal (or pushing a double wide stroller complete with fucking seven and eight year old kids), with our fucking cankles swelling and our pill bottles tinkling away in our being paid-to-be-worthless pockets and purses.
We’ll run over small children to get a better place in line to get Cinderella’s signature or a Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich.
We’ll keep spending money we don’t have on shit we don’t need and believing what our shiny smartphones, webpages and idiot boxes tell us. We’ll even occasionally open a glossy magazine to read about how to be more like (insert overpaid, vapid, celeb here), or “get more done,” or drug our children, ‘er diagnose their ADHD.
If some stupid kid, drugged out of his mind happens to finally (and not unexpectedly) explode and kill people, we’ll be outraged and demand more of the same and fewer rights.
We don’t need rights, we need pills and bad food and entertainment and security by big brother.
So that’s where the outrage is at for killing hundreds of anonymous, innocent, children half way around the planet is.
It’s been blown away by nitrates and fluoride, tons of body fat and pills, flashing lights and Bernay’s induced messages, and the complete sloughing off of the feeling of any responsibility for anything other than yourself. The government wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t keeping us safe.
Our countrymen don’t have time to worry about that shit our country is doing in the world. They have important things to chat about on their phones while figuring out what bill to skip to make the minimum on the credit card paid, or figuring out where to spend the tax refunds they get for choosing to work a 16 hour a week job, or scamming the doctor out of another drug to have medicaid pay for and then party with, or sell.
I’m sorry to be an American these days. I can only pray I live long enough to see that change.

Not that it will matter to anyone commenting here, but the big news on this story is that the strike was called for by the AFGHAN military.
If an idiot in the AFGHAN Army calls in an airstrike and a NATO pilot delivers it on the designated coordinates who made the mistake? Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president seems to know and have little confidence in his army to order air strikes. He has prohibited HIS soldiers from ordering NATO aircraft to deliver such attacks in ‘residential areas’. IOWs Karzai knows his own troops will order an attack either incompetently or for reasons of their own and his own people are getting wise to the blame NATO excuse.
