Guns And Ammo Production Maxed Out: “This is a Society Preparing For War”

SHTFplan.com

President Barack Obama is, arguably, the best gun salesman ever. Over 65 million guns have been purchased since the President took office in 2009. FBI background check statistics indicate that, over the last twelve months, Americans purchased a new gun every 1.5 seconds, a figure which suggests there is much more to the recent panic buying than people just stocking up to go hunting or sports shooting.

The following guns and ammo industry report indicates that every major gun and ammunition manufacturer in the country is running at 100% capacity, with many so far behind that they’ve stopped taking new orders altogether.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!

Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can’t get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly…bottle necked by Bolt carrier’s.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity…can’t get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS… ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra’s for reloading purposes… it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted…

Many who have exercised their Second Amendment protections are first time buyers concerned with Federal and State gun grabs being spearheaded by politicians who are using the Sandy Hook school shooting as a pretext to restrict access to personal defense rifles, larger capacity magazines, and even ammunition.

But this may only be a part of why there’s so much demand. There are millions of Americans who are genuinely concerned with not just the government taking their guns, but all of their other Constitutionally protected freedoms as well.

We understand what happens in regimes that disarm their people. We’ve seen the democide of the last century, which left hundreds of millions of people dead or displaced when their governments turned on them.

We are determined to prevent it from happening in the land of the free.

Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn’t come close to keeping up with market demand.

It wasn’t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20—were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone.

This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.

With over 300 million firearms in America in the hands of private citizens, the people are sending a loud and clear message to their government.

Back off. Stop encroaching on our personal liberties. Limit yourself to your Constitutionally granted powers and nothing more.

You’re not the only ones that are armed.

Also the reason Springfield can meet demand is that there is low demand for overpriced 60 year old firearm designs………

I have been waiting for a “Champion Loaded(Colt Commander)” 1911 for a long time. The price was $850 but who knows what it will be when it becomes available. Also the gun nuts here started urging everyone to buy guns, ammo, parts and mags a couple of years ago. Looks like pretty good advice 20/20 hindsight.

Although Obama has been “good” for the gun industry, I think the 65 million gun sales stat is probably misleading. That figure probably means transfers which would include used guns being sold. I’d bet 10-15% of the 65 million are actually newly manufactured guns. Still a big number.

Completely agree, IndenturedServant. I really don’t think thousands of people are preparing for the government to show up on their doorsteps, demanding their guns.

Maybe these folks just want to buy something before it becomes illegal, so they can sell it for more afterwards.

If there is any fear or paranoia out there, maybe you have a bunch of people who are watching the country go further in debt every year trying to support welfare (cough cough) I mean wealth distribution (cough cough) I mean safety net programs that it cannot sustain.

If you’ve got a bunch of FSA shitbags living not far away who have never worked, and are by no stretch of the imagination employable, you might wonder what would happen if their EBT cards stopped being replenished, or if the price of food went up so much they started getting hungry.

If fear is a factor here, and you don’t have a gun bubble made up of a bunch of people hoping to flip them for a quick buck, I think people are far more afraid of many of their neighbors than they are of the government.

But I don’t know. Guns seem awfully expensive. Silver, after today, on the other hand … it’s like a neighborhood-wide garage sale just came to town.

Even if sliver were to drop lower, which for the life of me I cannot see happening, ultimately it will go much, much higher than where we are now.

  20. Administrator says:

“Consider for a moment the remarkably high volume of COMEX contracts traded during the days when the spot prices for gold and/or silver were driven sharply lower.

An illusion of weakness tends to prevail in these situations because the majority of precious metal traders do not seem to understand the difference between a paper claim and the real thing, nor do they seem to realize that only paper contracts or claims are being sold when the price of the precious metals drops — not the actual metal itself. Basically, the futures contract seller cannot be forced to deliver physical metal, and so sellers can simply settle their profit or loss on the trade in cash.

Furthermore, the fact that such price drops are typically initiated by the dumping of huge swaths of paper contracts by proprietary traders working at giant bullion banks that are too big to bail and/or fail, makes them seem more like manipulative attempts to scare the precious metals market into a selling panic.

No one is actually selling real bullion during these allegedly “not-for-profit”-led precious metal sell-offs. Instead, the paper market is moving the metal prices as the tail seemingly wags the dog.

Perhaps this was once a civilized way to discover the fair price of a commodity, but in today’s age — regardless of the obvious and highly questionable concentration of only a few sellers comprising the entire net short position of the futures market — every market trades in a high speed, momentum-based, and computer program monitored environment.

This manipulative activity is also permitted by regulators and exchanges in the equities market via dark pools that spoof and front-run millions of unsuspecting penny stock day traders who seem caught up in the race to catch the elusive Red Queen of a good trade.

Practically every notable move lower comes from concentrated short sellers intentionally destabilizing the market to force precious metal prices down, although the so-called exports never seem to see it this way. Furthermore, no matter how blatant the sudden dumping is, it is almost always painted and viewed publically as a ‘longs selling’ event.

If all of that were not enough, predictable sell-offs almost always occur after margin announcements. As a case in point, maintenance margins were lowered last week, thereby providing an incentive for unsuspecting momentum or technical oriented longs to enter the market.

As usual, these weak longs were quickly harvested in less than two trading sessions after the margin announcement was made…

The good news, or the flip side, is that open interest has remained high in the precious metals futures markets, despite the numerous downdrafts. This indicates that stronger hands are accumulating…”

News from the dork side of the farce:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/16/chicago-homicide-rate-wor_n_1602692.html

    This snip is particularly good:

“The city has repeatedly said “fracturing” street gangs are responsible for the bulk of the recent gun violence. The city has deployed specialized undercover officers to units on the city’s West and South Sides, as well as saturating area neighborhoods with uniformed cops.

Tio Hardiman, Illinois director of anti-violence group CeaseFire, wrote in a HuffPost blog that although much of the gun violence is simply labeled as “gang-related” in media accounts, “once you take a closer look, you will find out that the majority of conflicts stem from interpersonal conflict that escalate into a gang conflict.”

Got that? Gang related is not gang related. Gangs don’t kill people — interpersonal conflict does.

    Miscellaneous factoid:

According to FBI om 2011, Violent crime decreased in all four regions: 4.9 percent in the Midwest; 4.7 percent in the West; 4.5 percent in the South and 0.8 percent in the Northeast.

When I went to my local coin dealer today, the place was packed. It took nearly 20 minutes for someone to help me. They won’t let you just browse through their miscellaneous silver bullion offerings on your own anymore. Someone has to stand there and watch you.

The problem is, less than a week ago some shitbag shoplifted a rare coin. And also, less than a year ago, someone broke into the store. This is an extremely low-crime, Midwestern town. His business is starting to have a problem with thefts. I know the owner, don’t talk to him often, but I think he needs some vicious dogs or something. Can’t imagine what has happened to his insurance rates.

So, they gave me an extremely wimpy-looking little plastic tray of 1-oz silver bullion coins. It’s barely half full, and I weeded out the ten neat-looking silver ounces I liked, and left the 8-10 ugly ones behind,.

What do they still have, to fill that basket tomorrow?

There was a couple, probably around 70 years old the both of them, who walked straight into the store and bought two American eagles in gold.

I guess for them, the gold price dropping to $1,600 was what buying silver below $30/oz was fior me.

Does anyone else think the Chinese pandas are the most beautiful coins ever minted? I’ll probably never see a gold one.

At first it scared the shit out of me that so many southern trailer park dinizens, former new car salesmen, would be militiamen, and out of work government office workers were running around buying up all the heavy weaponry and ammo they could squeeze on to their last and soon to be maxed out credit cards. All of them knowing that the Big “O” himself and his merry band of Federalies would soon be coming out to personally impound all of their sacred 2nd amendment
exploading paraphernalia. Then it occurred to me that under the worst of possible circumstances the greater part of these would be warriors are nothing but chickenhawks. They will piss in their pants if anyone ever shows up at their door. Most of them have never been under fire, got on line and went forward, carried body bags, actually drew a bead on another human being coming at them through the bush, and they never will. All this fire power is actually safe with them. They supported a slumping economy that needed all the help it could get, and I thank them. This is a nation of made up mostly of pussies except for the brave men and women who have served our country bravely during the last decades of corp. sponsored foreign aggression. If any police or military personnel come any where close to their trailers or soon to be foreclosed homes they will throw all their war gear out the front door and duck under the bed.

When the populace has no money for a few days or the money they had is next to worthless, the shit IS going to hit the fan! DO NOT THINK IT CANNOT HAPPEN IN TH USA!

    (re: Argentina 1990)
“ The crisis intensified when, on 5 December 2001, the IMF refused to release a US$1.3 billion tranche of its loan, citing the failure of the Argentinean government to reach previously agreed-upon budget deficit targets,[26] and demanded further budget cuts, amounting to 10% of the federal budget.[27] On 4 December, Argentinean bond yields stood at 34% over U.S. treasury bonds, and, by 11 December, the spread jumped to 42%.[28][29]
By the end of November 2001, people began withdrawing large sums of dollars from their bank accounts, turning pesos into dollars and sending them abroad, causing a bank run. On 2 December 2001 the government enacted measures, informally known as the corralito,[30][31] that effectively froze all bank accounts for twelve months,[32][33] allowing for only minor sums of cash to be withdrawn, initially $250 a week”

I do have a magnificent 1oz gold panda I bought at exactly spot price. It is a 2005 bullion coin but rivals the best UNC or Proof U.S. gold coin I have ever seen in gold. The Panda design is neat but it is the execution of the design using both deep mirror proof and deep ultra cameo techniques on the devices that blew me away on this coin. The mama and baby bear appear to be in motion as you tilt the coin in strong daylight. I just checked and the damn thing is selling at a $500 dollar premium to spot!
