    AWD, as one who used to restore old cars (mainly pre-war), I can tell you that the LaSalle was one of the greatest cars ever mass produced in america. A friend had one and it had a forged engine block that had so much chromium in the alloy that it never needed painting. That sucker would last forever. Plus they were just beautiful cars…although waaaay out of Archie Bunkers’ price range.
