You too can vote whether Soda Nazi Bloomberg is a control freak douchebag. The vote was 87% in favor of the judge when I voted. Maybe there is hope.

Poll: Should NY judge have blocked Bloomberg’s soda ban?

March 11, 2013, 4:21 PM
A New York judge blocked the scheduled imposition of a ban on sales of large sugary drinks in the city.

The measure had been slated to take effect Tuesday.

New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg argues the ban is needed to combat obesity in New York City.

However, the judge ruled that the law as written was “fraught with arbitrary and capricious consequences.”

So, what do you think?

Do you agree with the New York state judge’s decision to block Bloomberg’s sugar-drink ban?

I’m beginning to think a lot of Americans are FINALLY realizing that ‘big brother’ policies aren’t in their best interest, that they can (and should) choose for themselves when it comes to lifestyle issues and that power/control freaks like Bloomberg need to go away. Most of the people waking up are those who are online, though, and have access to news that isn’t screened by the MSM.

Admin is wrong again (so what else is new). I just voted and the percentage in favor of the judge was 86.9%, not 87%.

One of my jobs here is to take lighthearted jabs at Admin. I take this task to heart and jump in his shit at every available opportunity. Either I failed at that with my above comment, or you and two other thumbs-down voters might be missing something, such as a sense of humor.

It still shocks me me that the majority are controlled by so few. There are many reasons I know but I have a very difficult time getting my head around it. It’s absurd, irrational, ludicrous and beyond reason but that does not make untrue.

The very idea of it turns my stomach!

Okay 88.4% think Bloomberg is an idiot. I find myself thinking…what about the rest?

11.6% would like to be tied to a tree stump and be flogged, probably. There just isn’t any accounting for tastes.

On the other hand, what’s an internet poll worth anyway? You have to know how to read to vote, right? I did not vote, btw. I felt that my vote didn’t count anyway.

Amusing, but some percentage of those voters don’t even know who Bloomberg is, much less care about the legal or ethical ramifications of his regulatory over-reach, they just want to buy big sodas. And this among the (as noted above) relatively well educated internet crowd.

As an aside, I noted recently that I occasionally imbibe in Fox News, which I called the least repulsive of MSM. Just for shits & grins, I watched some Chris Matthews’ Hardball last night (hotel had a limited selection). Damn, that show is for certified Obama Koolaid-drinking retards. Makes Hannity look like a deep thinker.

The Soda Ban was a stupid idea from the get go.

It wont stop people from drinking more soda they will either A) Make another stop/drivethru and buy another soda B) Go to the store and buy cases of soda.

The law should never have gotten as far as it did and that the state congress even considering, not to mention wasting taxpayer money and their time, such a thing is just mind boggingly senseless.

Speaking about judges trying to uphold the Constitution:

Federal judge rules surveillance provisions unconstitutional

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A federal judge has ruled unconstitutional national security provisions that permit federal investigators to access customer information from some companies without court approval.

The provisions “suffer from significant constitutional infirmities,” and violate the First Amendment and separation of powers, Judge Susan Illston of the District Court for the Northern District of California wrote in an order on Thursday.

The judge’s decision stems from a “National Security Letter” that the Federal Bureau of Investigation issued to an unnamed telecommunications company, according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

The National Security Letter provision of the Patriot Act expanded the FBI’s authority to demand personal customer records from Internet service providers, financial institutions and credit companies without prior court approval, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

This guy, Blomberg, is an arrogant ass hole. He is an example of how OTHER arrogant ass holes feel “their way” is the RIGHT WAY for all other Americans. This includes gun ownership, gay marriage, abortion, and anything else. They want to repackage “rights” and sell them back to us as “privileges”…with a host of regulations & licenses. All the way down to the “privilege” of buying a damn SODA! Ben Franklin said it best, “those who trade essential liberties for temporary securities deserve neither”. Me, I’m NOT smart enough to tell someone I don’t know whether or not they can marry, or what they do, or don’t to as it regards their body. How arrogant those are, who think THEY can!

  15. llpoh says:

Branden – I agree with much of what you say. The crap about marriage is crap. You may be too stupid to understand what marriage is, but I for one am not. Let me provide the fucking definition for you:

    “Noun

The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.”

I give not one shit what two consenting adults do. I am more than happy to let gays enter into relationships where they have the same legal rights and obligations as do married couples. Why should married people have all the fun.

But to change the FUCKING DEFINITION OF A WORD because, well, the homosexual community wants it so is total horseshit. Marriage is between a man and a woman. They need to create their own fucking definition and quit stirring up the fucking pot. It is a waste of time and resources.

Quit being such a politically correct pussy.

Bloomberg Denounces ‘Food Freedom’ as Bourgeois Oppression

The Chief Commissar of Manhattangrad, Comrade Mikhail Bloomberg, has denounced the reactionary People’s Court judge who recently overruled the Comrade’s directive limiting the Peoples’ Rations of sodas and other foods deemed ‘unhealthy’ by the Party.

“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,” Comrade Mikhail stated during a broadcast of the American Media Collective.

He later went on to praise the work of his Department of Mandatory Health, which will continue to struggle for compulsory treatment of obesity and other destabilizing conditions that threaten the good order of Manhattangrad.

Citizens, we know that such Bourgeois concepts as ‘food freedom’ often masquerade as desirable conditions. However, we also know that when people are permitted to set their own rations, they will often eat too much and not leave enough for the poor and disabled.

Comrade Mikhail is ensuring that the disadvantaged will be able to share in the prosperity of Manhattangrad, while also guaranteeing that all citizens will be healthy enough to complete their work quotas and not overburden the State’s sick call facilities. This “food freedom” is nothing more than a clever disguise for Capitalist oppression!

Rationing a reasonable and fair. It is also healthy and compassionate. Reactionaries and counter-revolutionaries want you to eat too much so that you will not be able to work in our glorious progressive struggle for equality and fairness.

Mayor Bloomberg On Drones: “Oh It’s Big Brother, Get Used To It”
    Submitted by Tyler Durden

While hosting his weekly radio show this past Friday, Your Royal Highness Mayor Michael Bloomberg explained to the serfs of NYC that privacy is dead and that you just “can’t keep the tide” of the surveillance state from coming in. His quotes perfectly demonstrate the attitude he takes toward his subjects and are quite revealing. For instance: “Everybody wants their privacy, but I don’t know how you’re going to maintain it. It’s just we’re going into a different world, uncharted, and, like it or not, what people can do, what governments can do, is different.” This whole thing comes across as a gigantic Jedi mind trick to me. ”It’s inevitable you will lose your freedoms. Resistance is futile. Just accept it.” Sadly, unlike the proud citizens of Seattle, New Yorkers are still too traumatized from 9/11 to get off their knees.
