Many of us are in 50% tax brackets, meaning we are paying 1/2 our money in taxes every year. I’d be grateful for only a 10% haircut.

Why should any of the money I make go to anyone that has 1) made bad life decisions, 2) failed to plan and work to ensure they can suport themselves? I mean, why should be forced to pay even one red cent for these types of people?

I believe that we need to offer a level playing field. That means we have to start with an A – Grade educational system, which I m more than happy to support. That does not mean pouring money into the coffers of the fucking educational unions. It means paying teachers well – but only good teachers. The vast majority are coming from the bottom of the barrel, or from under the barrel It means crushing the teachers unions like a bug on a windscreen, and implementing sound educational practices. It means throwing out those kids that disrupt the system – and making sure they never collect one thin dime of welfare as they have made their own bed. Etc.

A level playing field also means we need to do away with the influence special interest groups have on government policy, eliminate paid lobbying, etc. A level playing field also means letting businesses (like too big to fail banks) go under when they make bad decisios, and eliminating protected groups.

Middle class welfare should in no way be tolerated. Welfare for the lazy and ignorant should not be tolerated. Defined benefit pensions for lazy government drones should not be tolerated. Everyone should be made to save up to care for their own selves. Blew it all on a big screen TV? To bad so sad.

The liberals have made sure that the middle class has become addicted to welfare, and the rolls of welfare addicts has become so large that it is now an unstoppable force. That was the plan all along. Grow the welfare rolls to the point that the people would always vote for more free shit. That has happened.

“Fair share ” is bullshit. Government welfare of any type should be available ony for those that became invalid at an age where they are too young to have had an opportunity to accumulate enough to cover themselves. Otherwise, all charity needs to be private.

Here is what I think should be my fair share:

I make a lot more than the average person. I am hapy to pay a lot more than the average person for:

    - the cost of educating our children (but not one cent toward feathering the union nests)
    - the cost of implementing and maintaining infrastructure efficiently (I am not happy to pay one cent for the fucking rorts and union bullshit)
    - the cost of providing essential government services efficiently: trash pick-up, police, emergency services, etc.
    - the cost of providing honest government
    - the cost of national defense (but not one cent towards foreign occupations and wars and bases)
    - the cost of providing for those made invaid through no fault of their own at an age where they were unable to accumulate sufficient to care for themselves
    - the cost (short-term) of helping widows, etc., get on their feet,

Here are some things I am not prepared to pay for with taxes:

    - anyone’s retirement. Not one person’s retirement should be my obligation. They need to tend to that themselves from their salaries and investments. If they tend poorly, they need to seek asistance from family or from public charity. I should not be forced to pay for their bad decisions.
    - any welfare at all to anyone that has made poor life decisions and/or who is capable of work. That means money, foodstamps, medical support, etc. These are appropriately paid for by the family structure or by private charity.

This is not an all inclusive list, but generally reflects my position on these things. I do not believe in tax funded welfare for the able bodied or for those who have made poor choices. It is not the government’s place to force me to pay for those things. In my opinion that is immoral and unethical.
