Bernie Sanders supports Presidential “Kill Lists”, Drone Warfare, and Troops in Syria and Afghanistan

Via The Rational Libertarian

I gotta be honest, nothing makes me cringe more than comparisons between Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders. While Bernie Sanders likes to talk a good game about the problems with our wars, Ron Paul has talked the talk and walked the walk. Not only did Ron Paul talk about these issues with our interventionist foreign policy, but he fundamentally understood it and the problems that were created because of such actions.

Bernie Sanders recently displayed his ignorance on these subjects when he endorsed the controversial presidential “kill list” and openly supported sending troops to Syria, additional troops to Afghanistan, as well as continuing Obama’s drone policy in the Middle East while on the air with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

The Presidential “Kill List”

The New York Times revealed in 2012 that President Obama hosts a meeting every Tuesday at the White House where he decides which suspected terrorists will be added to a so-called “kill list.” Those on the list can then be targeted for killing, typically with an unmanned drone.

“Do you think what’s being done now is constitutional and legal?” Hayes asked Sanders, noting the existence of “a list of people that the U.S. government wants to kill.”

“In general I do, yes,” Sanders replied.

Next in the interview with Hayes, Sanders lent his support to sending troops to Syria to aid in the fight against ISIS.

“Here’s the bottom line,” said Sanders. “ISIS has got to be destroyed, and the way that ISIS must be destroyed is not through American troops fighting on the ground.” However, “I think what the president is talking about is having American troops training Muslim troops, helping to supply the military equipment the need, and I do support that effort.”

Paul Ryan Sucks Diseased Donkey D*ck

New boss same as old boss.  Same shit, different day. Your Vote MATTERS …… according to a small legion of TBP morans.

Rainmaker Paul Ryan Tabs Lobbyist as Chief of Staff

As the classic British rock band The Who once famously sang, “meet the new boss, same as the old boss” and despite nearly the entire fawning establishment media slobbering all over themselves that is precisely what it is going to be with Paul Ryan. Congressman Ryan, who is set to replace the weeping orange juicer John Boehner as Speaker of the House, is adored by conservatives who should by now be used to getting sold a bill of goods – remember that great 2014 mid-term election betrayal?

That Ryan’s biggest cheerleaders have been in the corporate media says a good deal about who he really represents and while this may be tough for many to swallow he doesn’t represent the average American workers who are busting their humps just to survive. This is why the new Speaker has just brought on a top Chamber of Commerce lobbyist as his new chief of staff. While the star-bellied Sneetches at the imperial city gazette aka the Washington Post have rolled out a puff piece to give Ryan a handy Andy and tout the credentials of David Hoppe the conservative blogosphere is screaming bloody murder as it well should over this latest stab in the back.

Warmongering Jackass Proposes Forced Servitude by Millennial to Fight Isis

Guest Post by Mike Shedlock
National Journal writer and senior political columnist Ron Fournier is calling for “shared sacrifice” to fight ISIS.His odd definition of “shared sacrifice” is forced conscription for all 18- to 28-year-olds.

Please consider How to Defeat ISIS With Millennial Spirit and Service.

I know a better way to fight ISIS. It starts with an idea that should appeal the better angels of both hawks and doves: National service for all 18- to 28-year-olds,” says Fournier.

Fournier is not only a “warmongering jackass”, but a moron as well if he believes his idea can appeal to doves.

He says he has a better idea. Actually, I do. Send Fournier and all the other jackasses who believe in forced servitude to fight Isis.

The way to perpetual war is forced servitude and attitudes of those like Fournier. We rightfully got rid of servitude, so let’s not bring it back.

You can send a protest email to Fournier here: [email protected].

The gall of this moronic jackass is stunning. My friend Pater Tenebrarum at the Acting Man blog pinged me with this comment just a bit ago: “Oh my god, what a creepy statist slave-driver this guy is.

When I asked Pater if I could post his comment, he replied “Please quote in capital letters!

“He Woke up on 3rd Base and Thought He Hit a Triple” – A Community Banker Responds to Jamie Dimon

Guest Post by Michael Krieger

The recent shareholder letter by JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon provides a crystal clear example of why it’s so dangerous to encourage and subsidize the corporate welfare babies known as the “Too Big to Fail” mega banks. The letter, which features a gigantic photograph of the executive seated casually with legs crossed in jeans, a shirt that appears almost uncomfortable around his neck in the absence of a tie, and all ten fingers touching flawlessly in what undoubtably took multiple takes to provide the sufficient creepiness factor (the presence of presidential cufflinks cannot be confirmed or denied), expounded on how well the mega banks performed during the financial crisis compared to the hundreds of small banks that failed.

This was understandably too much to handle for Camden R. Fine, president and chief executive of the Independent Community Bankers of America. He wrote a scathing piece in American Banker in rebuttal titled, Dimon’s Defense of Big-Bank Model: An Exercise in Hubris.

Here are some choice excerpts:
