The Sandcastle

Guest Post by Jeff Thomas

The decline from democracy to tyranny is both a natural and inevitable one.

That’s not a pleasant thought to have to consider, but it’s a fact, nonetheless. In every case, a democracy will deteriorate as the result of the electorate accepting the loss of freedom in trade for largesse from their government. This process may be fascism, socialism, communism, or a basket of “isms,” but tyranny is the inevitable endgame of democracy. Like the destruction of a sandcastle by the incoming tide, it requires time to transpire, but in time, the democracy, like the sandcastle, will be washed away in its entirety.

Why should this be so? Well, as I commented some years ago,

Freedom — One Liberated Apple at a Time

Guest Post by Colin Todhunter

A minor but significant spark of direct action occurred in New York on 15 December. A group of people entered a Whole Foods store (owned by Amazon), took groceries without paying and exited wearing Jeff Bezos masks.

Independent reporter Talia Jane posted the following on Twitter/X:

“The action was in protest against corporate wealth alongside increased food insecurity & to call attention to Amazon’s contracts with Israel.”

She also posted a video of the event with people throwing around flyers and shouting, “Feed the people, eat the rich!” Jane stated the food was later redistributed and given to food ‘distros’ and community care spaces feeding migrants and the unhoused.

What If the Constitution No Longer Applied? Freedom’s Greatest Hour of Danger Is Now

Guest Post by John W. Whitehead

“What if the rights and principles guaranteed in the Constitution have been so distorted in the past 200 years as to be unrecognizable by the Founders? What if the government was the reason we don’t have a Constitution anymore? What if freedom’s greatest hour of danger is now?”—Andrew P. Napolitano

We are approaching critical mass, the point at which all hell breaks loose.

The government is pushing us ever closer to a constitutional crisis.

What makes the outlook so much bleaker is the utter ignorance of the American people—and those who represent them—about their freedoms, history, and how the government is supposed to operate.

As Morris Berman points out in his book Dark Ages America, “70 percent of American adults cannot name their senators or congressmen; more than half don’t know the actual number of senators, and nearly a quarter cannot name a single right guaranteed by the First Amendment. Sixty-three percent cannot name the three branches of government. Other studies reveal that uninformed or undecided voters often vote for the candidate whose name and packaging (e.g., logo) are the most powerful; color is apparently a major factor in their decision.”

The Mills of the Gods

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

“We didn’t love freedom enough.”Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn

Do you think that more than half of the US public may be getting a little irked with “Joe Biden’s” lawfare elf, AG Merrick Garland, as he rolls one innocent J-6 protester after another into decades of hard-time for strolling through the US Capitol building — while the special counsels assigned to only a few of the Biden family crimes play hide-the-salami with due process?

For all their cheap talk about “our democracy,” it’s a little scary to see what Democratic Party lawyers actually think of the legal system that is supposed to allow a society based on liberty to function fairly. Court filings last week indicate that Special Counsel David Weiss is about to indict Hunter Biden on that gun charge they have used as the joker in a three-card Monte game for going on five years.

The Cycle of Freedom

Guest Post by Jeff Thomas

Periodically, I offer up a statement by Scottish economist Alexander Tytler, who, in 1787, was reported to have commented on the then-new American Republic as follows:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been about 200 years. These nations always progressed through this sequence:

From Bondage to Moral Certitude;

from Moral Certitude to Great Courage;

from Great Courage to Liberty;

from Liberty to Abundance;

from Abundance to Selfishness;

from Selfishness to Complacency;

from Complacency to Apathy;

from Apathy to Dependency;

from Dependency to Bondage.

Tytler had it right. There is a Freedom Cycle. It’s not an accident. It’s based upon human nature, which is perennial. And it’s not something that can be manipulated to suddenly reverse itself, just because the citizens of a country are unhappy when they find themselves living in the declining stages. It has to play itself out. Continue reading “The Cycle of Freedom”

What is All this Fuss about Rights?

Guest Post by Todd Hayen

People seem to think that anyone who complains about their “rights” is some sort of crybaby ninny. I hear comments all the time like, “Rights? You already don’t have any rights, why are you so upset about losing any more?” Or quite the opposite, “You don’t know what losing rights is all about, try living a week in North Korea!”

Neither one of these responses shows much intelligence or understanding of our current situation.

The first one is a particularly good example in this regard. Rights are being lost so quickly. When and if we finally wake up to that fact we will realize how much we indeed have already lost.

That still is not a good reason to ignore what is going on. Continue reading “What is All this Fuss about Rights?”

Building Roads While the World Wilts

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

As mentioned in an article last month, I have been helping out friends by driving a 10-speed triaxle dump truck (6AM to 6PM) 2 to 3 days a week this summer.

Using older but well-maintained dump trucks and newer state-of-the-art excavation equipment, six guys working full-time, plus me helping out part-time, are removing the concrete on a stretch of road and several streets in a small town located in an adjacent county. Additionally, we are coordinating with two road engineers, and conferring with local utility employees overseeing the project.  Our crew is handling the overall excavation, installation of underground drainage infrastructure, dumping the old concrete in designated land areas, hauling away dirt to two other locations, and hauling in rock from two separate quarries. All of this is being done in advance of a paving company’s final pouring of the concrete.

Dystopia Disguised as Democracy: All the Ways in Which Freedom Is an Illusion

Via The Rutherford Institute

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”—Frank Zappa

We are no longer free.

We are living in a world carefully crafted to resemble a representative democracy, but it’s an illusion.

We think we have the freedom to elect our leaders, but we’re only allowed to participate in the reassurance ritual of voting. There can be no true electoral choice or real representation when we’re limited in our options to one of two candidates culled from two parties that both march in lockstep with the Deep State and answer to an oligarchic elite.

FOURTH TURNING 2022 – BAD MOON RISING (PART THREE)

In Part One & Part Two of this article I laid out how those in power have used the power of propaganda and the psychology of fear to weaponize a flu to further their Great Reset agenda, while ensuring an economic and financial collapse through the issuance of trillions in unpayable bad debt. In Part Three of this article, I will examine how the civic decay in our society, created by the ruling class, will coalesce into a bloody firestorm of death and destruction during the remaining years of this Fourth Turning.

“One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.”George Orwell, 1984

“The masses never revolt of their own accord, and they never revolt merely because they are oppressed. Indeed, so long as they are not permitted to have standards of comparison, they never even become aware that they are oppressed.”George Orwell, 1984

There had been a theory discussed a few years ago regarding the nature of Fourth Turnings alternating between externally focused and internally focused. It is more about the key drivers, as all Fourth Turnings are impacted by domestic and foreign influences. Even though the sample size is small, this Fourth Turning appears to be following the alternating pattern. The American Revolution was driven by conflict with a foreign power (Great Britain), with another foreign power (France) tipping the scales in favor of the patriots. The Civil War was almost entirely a domestic internal conflict, with Great Britain not fully supporting the Confederacy, and tipping the scales in favor of the North. The Great Depression was created by global central bank machinations, with World War II almost entirely fought on foreign soil, leaving the U.S. as the unchallenged leader of the free world after 1945.

Interview With a Hero

Via American Freedom News

Meeting Tony Roman, you’re immediately struck by his stature. He’s a cross between a linebacker and The Hulk. But it’s Tony Roman’s stance on America and freedom that shows what a giant he truly is. On March 19, 2020 when lockdowns and the mask-erade were first announced he declared Basilico’s, his restaurant in Huntington Beach, California, a “Constitutional Battleground.”

Basilico’s Pasta e Vino is a small, rustic Italian restaurant established by Tony’s mother Rosemarie, who started serving up her original East Coast classics after moving to the Left Coast in 1991, following Tony who moved there in 1987.

Rosemarie, who most call Rose, opened Basilico’s in 1999 at its original location. When she fell seriously ill, Tony who comes from other industries, knew that she would no longer be able to be at her restaurant like she once was, and it may even have been on the verge of closing. Because the shopping center and the surrounding neighborhood were in decline, he decided to design and build her a bigger and better restaurant at a new location, as a tribute to her hard work and dedication. He wanted to gift her a restaurant that could operate even if she was not there as often and could continue long into the future to carry on her legacy.

The Tide Is Turning in Freedom’s Favor

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

The Tide Is Turning in Freedom’s Favor

Looking backwards in a few years, it is entirely possible that we will see that December 2021 was the high-water mark of the great progressive coup, when leftists reached out for the brass ring, but their soft, girlish hands were too weak to grasp it. It is likely all downhill for them from here, though that is not entirely clear to us right now. When Gandalf returned from getting balrogged in the Lord of the Rings flicks, he says, “I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide.” Except all their big battles were still ahead. And even if the tide has turned for us too, so are ours.

What We’re Up Against (Until We’re Up Against A Wall)

Via Blue State Conservative

Consider that you are so rich the world will bend into a pretzel to gain your “friendship”. Consider that you are so loaded that you can buy people like everyone else buys a cup of coffee. Consider that you have so much money you can spread but a tiny portion of it around and absolutely decide (cheat) an entire American Presidential election.

Now consider the very exclusive world-wide Club your vast wealth puts you into, and further consider that combined, this Club controls a huge amount of the available capital (and therefore the land, businesses, and people) across the planet.
