Al Gore’s House Uses 34 Times the Electricty as an Average House

Via Townhall

Hypocrisy, thy name is…Al Gore?

A new, more-than-slightly amusing report from The Daily Caller alleges that the former vice president just might not be practicing what he preaches when it comes to the environment. Namely: his house in Nashvile uses 34 times as much electricity than an average house. According to the Daily Caller, the amount of electricty that Gore uses to heat his swimming pool over the course of a year could power six average households.

Obamas under fire from the left for never ending, sizzling ultra-luxury vacations

Via Fox News

The Democratic base is growing increasingly frustrated with former President Barack Obama’s actions after leaving office, including a seemingly endless tour of millionaire and billionaire luxury retreats, according to Democrats and activists contacted by Fox News.

Ex-presidents, understandably and un-controversially, go on vacations immediately after leaving office. But the level of luxury the Obamas enjoy on their vacations is unprecedented for a modern-day president, say travel experts.

The Real Reason Zuckerberg Supports A Universal Basic Income

Via The Daily Bell

Every generation expands its definition of equality…

Now it’s time for our generation to define a new social contract. We should have a society that measures progress not just by economic metrics like GDP but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful. We should explore ideas like universal basic income to make sure everyone has a cushion to try new ideas.

-Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO

Here we go. Get ready for the media to start hammering the basic income meme.

Why is someone worth $62 billion complaining about inequality? Why is the world’s 6th richest man lecturing the public on the wealth gap, and floating ideas like the government spreading OUR wealth around while hoarding his own?

Obama Pockets $3.2 Million For Speaking Gig In Milan

Tyler Durden's picture

President Obama, the preeminent crusader against the evils of Wall Street, took some heat from his Progressive pals a few weeks ago when it emerged that as his first paid speech appearance he would receive $400,000 for roughly an hour of his time from, well, Wall Street, or rather Cantor Fitzgerald.

But the irony didn’t end there.  In an effort to combat the public outcry, the beloved former President defended his efforts by arguing that the decision to take $400,000 from Cantor Fitzgerald couldn’t possibly mean that he’s a sellout because, well, he already sold out to Wall Street during his initial Presidential campaign back in 2008.  You can’t sell out again if you’ve already sold out before…come on people, it doesn’t work that way.  Here is part of his actual statement:

In Hacked Fundraiser Recording, Hillary Mocks Bernie Supporters “Living In Their Parents’ Basement”

Tyler Durden's picture

The reason why the Trump campaign has been so eager to find transcripts and recordings of the private speeches Hillary Clinton has delivered during her extensive, lucrative speaking career, is because it is there that she reveals that rare glimpse into what she truly thinks, or at least what $250,000 per hour will get her to believe. One such example is a recently hacked recording of Hillary Clinton, where in a private conversation with campaign donors in February, Clinton distanced herself from progressive goals like “free college, free healthcare” and described her place on the political spectrum as spanning from the center-left to the center-right.

Bernie Sanders supports Presidential “Kill Lists”, Drone Warfare, and Troops in Syria and Afghanistan

Via The Rational Libertarian

I gotta be honest, nothing makes me cringe more than comparisons between Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders. While Bernie Sanders likes to talk a good game about the problems with our wars, Ron Paul has talked the talk and walked the walk. Not only did Ron Paul talk about these issues with our interventionist foreign policy, but he fundamentally understood it and the problems that were created because of such actions.

Bernie Sanders recently displayed his ignorance on these subjects when he endorsed the controversial presidential “kill list” and openly supported sending troops to Syria, additional troops to Afghanistan, as well as continuing Obama’s drone policy in the Middle East while on the air with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

The Presidential “Kill List”

The New York Times revealed in 2012 that President Obama hosts a meeting every Tuesday at the White House where he decides which suspected terrorists will be added to a so-called “kill list.” Those on the list can then be targeted for killing, typically with an unmanned drone.

“Do you think what’s being done now is constitutional and legal?” Hayes asked Sanders, noting the existence of “a list of people that the U.S. government wants to kill.”

“In general I do, yes,” Sanders replied.

Next in the interview with Hayes, Sanders lent his support to sending troops to Syria to aid in the fight against ISIS.

“Here’s the bottom line,” said Sanders. “ISIS has got to be destroyed, and the way that ISIS must be destroyed is not through American troops fighting on the ground.” However, “I think what the president is talking about is having American troops training Muslim troops, helping to supply the military equipment the need, and I do support that effort.”

Hypocrite Zuckerberg hires more armed guards — after BANNING legal private gun sales on Facebook

Hat tip Francis Marion

Prologue:

The author of this piece is a Jew. Funny how life isn’t as cut and dry as we’d like it to be.

So Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, has increased his security detail. He now has 16 private guards at his house alone.

Makes sense. His estimated net worth is a staggering $35 billion. That alone makes him a target.

And he’s spending his own money — unlike politicians who have taxpayers provide security for them.

But just last month, Facebook banned private firearms sales, even though those are perfectly legal. Because Zuckerberg, a San Francisco liberal, doesn’t feel right about it.

It’s just like America’s biggest anti-gun scold, former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, another multi-billionaire — with 12 bodyguards. He’s spent millions of dollars lobbying to ban guns — for everyone else.

One more thing:

Zuckerberg, Bloomberg — they’re obviously Jewish.

See, 80-some years ago, Hitler banned Jews from owning firearms.

There was one famous battle, in Poland, the Warsaw Uprising, when Jews in the ghetto, sensing they were all about to be murdered anyways, smuggled in guns, and launched a rebellion. It was ultimately crushed. But it was a rare moment when Jews didn’t go quietly to the slaughter.

I admire Bloomberg and Zuckerberg not wanting to be unarmed.

I just wish they’d let the rest of us do the same.

GRIEVING CHICAGO MOTHER

Mother of slain Chicago 9-year-old defends purchase of new car on social media

CHICAGO — The mother of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee, who was fatally shot in Chicago, is defending her purchase of a new car on social media.

Karla Lee posted several videos to Instagram Saturday morning after a flurry of social media posts accused her of using money from her son’s GoFundMe account to buy the car. Lee says she used her own money.

“I got this s*** for my protection…I’m pretty sure that’s something my son would have wanted me to do,” she said in one of the videos. In another video, she says she was afraid of being targeted if she took public transportation.

The GoFundMe account was reportedly created by one of Lee’s friends “to help her lay her son to rest.” As of Saturday afternoon, the account had raised nearly $17,500.

Police say someone targeted and lured Tyshawn into an alley in the 8000-block of South Damen Monday afternoon and shot him multiple times. They believe it was connected to an on-going gang dispute involving the boy’s father.

Bernanke Talks Tough But Was Weak When It Mattered

Guest Post by David Dayen

Former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke joined practically everyone in America by saying in his new memoir, The Courage to Act, that more Wall Street executives should have gone to jail for criminal misconduct that led to the financial crisis.

“It would have been my preference to have more investigation of individual action, since obviously everything what went wrong or was illegal was done by some individual, not by an abstract firm,” he wrote.

Unlike practically everyone else in America, however, Bernanke was in a pretty good position to actually facilitate criminal misconduct proceedings, if he wanted to see them so badly — as  head of the nation’s most powerful bank supervisory agency from 2006 to 2014.

The Fed, like all banking regulators, can initiate criminal referrals to the Justice Department for individuals they find to have broken the law. This acts as the first line of defense to discipline criminal misconduct on Wall Street.

But such activities were absent during the period when Bernanke was chair, according to criminologist and law professor Bill Black. “The Federal Reserve appears to have made zero criminal referrals; it made three about discrimination,” Black told Bill Moyers in 2013.

And when Bernanke took action, his stumbling attempts at accountability weren’t just inadequate; they were absurd. The one major action his Federal Reserve took regarding specific conduct regarding the financial crisis wound up as the most embarrassing display of fake accountability in the history of the Obama Administration.

Chris Christie tells his state’s National Guard chief to get in shape

Chris Christie, the most famous plus-sized politician in America, is taking a dim view of obesity among one of his subordinates.

The Associated Press is reporting that Christie, the New Jersey governor and Republican presidential aspirant, wants Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael Cunniff, the leader of New Jersey’s national guard, to get in better shape.

It seems that Cunniff has been ducking mandatory Pentagon physical-fitness tests.

Christie says Cunniff’s failure to meet Pentagon fitness standards is unacceptable and disappointing, a spokesman said.

In a statement, Cunniff said he was taking steps to remedy the issue.

Christie opted to have surgery, specifically, the gastric band, to control his own weight.
