Watch: This Lady Completely Loses Control After Her EBT Food Stamps Card Is Declined

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

With some 100 million Americans now receiving government assistance in one form or another, it’s only a matter of time before glitches or all out system failure leads to civil unrest.

While we understand that Electronic Benefits Transfer cards, unemployment and other social support mechanisms are necessary for those who may have temporarily come upon hard times in an economic environment wrought with fraud and machinations that have left hard working Americans in dire straits, the fact is that millions upon millions of people feel entitled to the benefits they receive from the taxpayer and have made sitting on the couch, smoking weed, and getting paid a career.

And when those benefits disappear for whatever reason we can expect the following, but on a mass scale:

Via TruNews:

A large woman destroyed a convenience store after having her food stamp benefits card declined, according to a video uploaded to Live Leak Thursday.

“Call the police, call the police,” the unnamed woman says repeatedly in the video as she lumbers around the store causing havoc. “Call the police. Do your job, do your job.”

The woman had already knocked some food on the floor before one patron decided to start filming the incident. She appears belligerent as she repeats inaudible and barely audible statements. The woman walks with a limp from an apparent injury as she threw food around. She even throws an empty container of Cheetos at a man who tried to calm her down.

This isn’t the first such incident and it certainly won’t be the last as an evermore impoverished populace becomes increasingly dependent on government handouts.

What Would Happen If Humans Vanished From The Planet?

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPlan.com,

fallout1

After the crisis, there could be nothing left of human populations.

There is no doubt that a disaster big enough to wipe out humanity exists – the threat of an EMP, a plague-level outbreak event, a total nuclear war, it doesn’t really matter what it is. Even if there were survivors, the larger forces at work will undo the artificial forms that now dot the landscape and define our culture.

How long would it take for nature to reclaim the vestiges and ruins of civilization that would be left on the planet after a mass extinction event in which humans no longer existed on earth?

These events would be catastrophic at magnitudes truly unimaginable in today’s society, and yet the danger is real, however unlikely they may seem.

This is a stunning look at how fragile our world really is, and how close we are to the brink of a drastic “reset” on a truly global scale.

The late Michael Ruppert warned of the coming collapse on a scale not expressed by many others who see what is coming:

We’re at the zero point of systemic collapse. That’s really the point at which it becomes clear that we are experiencing living through a system’s failure of human industrial civilization.

[…]

I would argue that it’s already begun, especially with the crime wave that’s now coming, not just against police officers. But, I’m also tracking violent crime and the predators who understand that there’s a much lessened law enforcement presence out there. They’re feeding on this energy of collapse, are coming out aggressively looking for victims. It’s very important that you learn how not to be one.

We also have climate collapse, mass extinction, the Gulf of Mexico – it’s absolutely clear that the Gulf of Mexico is dead – and the people who have been exposed to that are very sick and dying. That’s not coming back. [Editor’s Note: Add to that the impact of Fukushima and other disasters.]

There is nothing we can do to prevent it [collapse]. No matter what we do…The last three words that I spoke at the biggest lecture I ever had at the University of Washington Seattle in 2005 – the last three words were Prepare, Prepare, Prepare.

Have you made your family as secure as they can be with stored goods, equipment and a fool proof bug out plan for continuity of life off the grid?

There are some good answers on where to start and how to account for just about everything, but the point is that you must start somewhere.

For beginners, the best tip may be to start small and build up from there as you learn what you’re doing:

Trump Video From 25 Years Ago Will Shock You: “I’m Tired of Seeing This Country Ripped Off”

The Donald has completely taken over the news cycle.

His path of victory after victory in GOP primary states has the establishment freaking out, and every major media outlet scrambling for a way to stop Trump, or at least to damage his reputation.

But why is he being compared to Hitler and inducing aneurysms among the political elite?

Obviously it isn’t the name-calling or fiery rhetoric that has the system’s minions losing sleep and openly-plotting his demise.

No. It is for one basic reason: his rhetoric and campaign promises have centered around restoring American sovereignty.

Economically, he has talked about undoing globalism and free trade, bringing back good American jobs, protecting the border (and yes, building the 10+ foot high wall) and saying no to a culture of exploiting illegal immigrant workers at the expense of American employment.

New Gun Control Bill Hits Congress: “To Ensure That The Right To Keep And Bear Arms Is NOT Unlimited”

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPLan.com,

In the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings we warned that sweeping changes were in the works for Americans’ right to bear arms. It started with ammunition tax proposals, restrictions on firearm accessories imports and most recently Governors began bypassing Congress altogether by banning gun ownership for those on any of the government’s many watchlists. The Obama administration has also targeted licensed firearms sellers across the United States by forcing banks to treat them like pornography businesses and impeding their access to transaction processing systems and business banking accounts.

States like California already ban “assault weapons” and outlaw “high capacity” magazines that can hold more than ten rounds of ammunition. But the kinds of restrictive laws that strike at the very heart of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution have thus far been limited to just a dozen or so heavily liberal states.

Until now.

While Americans anxiously prepared for their Christmas festivities, anti gun proponents in Congress were hard at work drafting a new bill. If passed H.R. 4269 would literally redefine the Second Amendment as evidenced by the bill’s description, which in no uncertain terms clarifies its ultimate goal:

It’s Just The Beginning: Martial Law Declared In Paris; Borders Sealed; Weapons Caches Found In Camps

Guest Post by Mac Slavo on SHTFplan.com

A Friday night in Paris, France turned into a bloody rampage when at least two Muslim men armed with assault rifles left 160 dead and scores wounded. Some reports also indicate that suicide bombers were to blame for multiple explosions heard by witnesses.

A de facto state of Martial Law now exists in France, with mandatory curfews and the country’s borders sealed for the first time since the 1962 Algerian war. Paris authorities also announced a closure of all schools and universities in the French capital. Armored vehicles have been deployed around the city.

This is likely only the beginning for a wave of terror that could sweep the region in coming months and years. With hundreds of thousands of unidentified, fighting-age men having entered European borders in the last six months, the zones’ citizens from Germany to Hungary are, quite literally, up in arms.

In October we reported that Europeans were scrambling for guns amid the Islamic immigrant invasion and that Austrians were so desperate for personal protection that long guns across the entire country sold out within weeks.

In early November officials reportedly found a weapons cache at a Swedish migrant center, suggesting that citizens panicking to get firearms was completely justified.

Half Of Americans Think “Government Is An Immediate Threat To Liberty”

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPlan.com,

Government poses a threat to liberty, that much is clear.

But what may be surprising is that almost half of Americans clearly identified government as a clear and “immediate” threat, and are obviously outraged about what is going on.

Oddly, the number of angry Americans has remained consistent in poll number ever since about 2006 during George W. Bush’s second term, maintaining around 46-49% throughout Barack Obama’s entire presidency.

And yet, things continue to get worse and worse with each political cycle, and each new president.

Gallup reported that:

Almost half of Americans, 49%, say the federal government poses “an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens,” similar to what was found in previous surveys conducted over the last five years.

The remarkable finding about these attitudes is how much they reflect apparent antipathy toward the party controlling the White House, rather than being a purely fundamental or fixed philosophical attitude about government.

[…] during the Republican administration of George W. Bush, Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents were consistently more likely than Republicans and Republican-leaning independents to say the federal government posed an immediate threat.

[…] during the Democratic Obama administration, the partisan gap flipped, with Republicans significantly more likely to agree.

[…]

Still, the persistent finding in recent years that half of the population views the government as an immediate threat underscores the degree to which the role and power of government remains a key issue of our time… numerous other measures show that the people give their government some of the lowest approval and trust ratings in the measures’ history.

Should Texas Secede? Texans May Have Ballot Question to “Reassert Its Status As Independent Nation”

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

Texas-Takes-Stand

The question of secession on a ballot it is a one. Secession might make a powerful statement to voice defiance government tyranny, but it could also set off sparks.

Now, it appears that the biggest and most independent-minded state in the union might test that question. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.

Regardless, the possibility shows the pulse of the nation:

Texans May Have Secession Question on Republican Primary Ballot

by Joshua Krause at the Daily Sheeple

Aside from voting for whatever politician happens to be the flavor of the month, the Republican voters of Texas may have an additional question to answer for when Super Tuesday arrives next year. If the Texas Nationalist Movement has its way, then the Republican primary ballot may have to ask voters to decide whether or not they think “the state of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation” and secede from the United States

Much to the chagrin of the Republican party, the Texas independence group is currently gathering signatures for a petition that would place their non-binding question on the ballot. According to the Texas Secretary of State, they will need at least 66,894 signatures, though the organization is shooting for 75,000.

Historically, the Republican Party would have the final say on what goes on their ballot, and they’ve tried to distance themselves from the Texas Nationalist Movement in the past. If the petition succeeds, it would be the first time that an outside group has their referendum placed on the Republican ballot. The group’s president hopes that the vote will get state legislators to take the issue seriously. “Texas and Washington, D.C. are on very different paths, and the people of Texas obviously recognize that…The Texas Nationalist Movement message has been one not of reaction to grievance but one of a future we can build as an independent nation.”

Got White Privilege? College Students Flunked for Using “Oppressive and Hateful Language”

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

collegedebtcollapse

Free speech has officially failed.

Reports are pouring in that the politically-correct politics surrounding the term ‘white privilege’ are gaining traction at many universities.

Plenty of professors at various colleges across the nation are confronting students with racial and ethnic issues, and decimating their grades if they aren’t sensitive enough to the use of delicate terminology.

Campus Reform reported on political correctness gone too far:

Multiple professors at Washington State University have explicitly told students their grades will suffer if they use terms such as “illegal alien,” “male,” and “female,” or if they fail to “defer” to non-white students.

According to the syllabus for Selena Lester Breikss’ “Women & Popular Culture” class, students risk a failing grade if they use any common descriptors that Breikss considers “oppressive and hateful language.”

At another school, a course in comparative ethnic cultures docks students who fail to recognize “white privilege” and use terms like “illegal alien” to describe people who circumvented immigration laws and came to this country without permission.

New MTV Show Publicly Shames White People For “What They’ve Done In America”

Guest Post from Mac Slavo

Editor’s Note: Never mind the Spanish Conquistadors who killed hundreds of thousands of native Americans following the discovery of the Americas. Forget about the brutal dictatorship of Santa Ana’s Mexico that aimed to put down white settlers in Texas, or that Texas’ independence sparked a war over territory in California years later. Forget that the slave trade was managed and often operated by African tribal leaders looking to turn a profit by shipping slaves to the new world.

The real blame for slavery, poverty and racism should be put squarely on white Americans. We are, after all, unapologetic for the transgressions some of our ancestors may have committed hundreds of years ago.

As you read the following report from Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars you’ll quickly come to realize that their is a movement afoot. It’s one that is designed to demonize people for the very color of their skin and completely ignores the content of their character. It is clear that racism is alive and well in the United States, but it’s not the kind of racism we’ve been taught over the last several decades. No, this kind of racism is a bit different and is completely denied by the establishment media and politicians, because the targets of the venomous attacks and accusations happen to have a white color to their skin, making it totally justifiable (for what factual reasons, we’re not exactly clear).

Luckily, we have a new reality show that explains to the world, and white people in particular, why they are so vile and repulsive.

A Green Beret’s Guide to EMP: Practical Steps to Prepare for a “Lights Out” Scenario (Part 1)

Guest Post from SHTFplan

Jeremiah Johnson is a retired Green Beret of the United States Army Special Forces (Airborne) and a graduate of the U.S. Army’s SERE school (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape).

lights-out-th lights-out

This series is dedicated to Ben Raines, one of SHTF’s readers, who wrote:

“If the power is out for more than 2 weeks I will have some serious decisions to make.”

Ben, I’m doing this article for you as I promised, and I hope it will help you (and others) to make those decisions in the critical moments and days following an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) event.  Although I had plenty of science courses in college, I am not a scientist.  Certainly someone with a scientific background will comment on this article.  Let me state this:  Scientists, I welcome all comments, positive or negative, but please make them proactive.  These articles are forums where the writers are “emcees” that introduce topics for discussion and present some salient points.  You guys and gals are the ones who pick up the topics and run the football in for the TD.

We need to be “SME’s” as we called them in the Army: Subject Matter Experts.  One of my personal goals for SHTF is not just to draw a large readership base; it is to help readers develop themselves and also develop one another.  Let the site become an ORP (objective rally point) where everyone can plan, exchange ideas, and attain better levels of awareness and preparation for the times to come.  In this light, there is a lot of knowledge out there awaiting use.  Take the knowledge you amass, step up to the plate, and take the swing: do the best you can with what you have.  And if it isn’t perfect, so what?  You give it your best shot and then adjust fire from there.

So here it is.  Scenario 1 finds you on your way to work.  You just dropped the kids off to school and you’re out on the freeway heading toward work at 8:05 am, armed with a cup of coffee and your local radio station.  All of a sudden the radio crackles and all of the power in your vehicle cuts off and you drift (hopefully safely!) to a halt.  You do a head check: all of your fellow commuters on the road are experiencing the same problem, except one guy in a ’54 Ford pickup truck who passes right by you.  You look at your wristwatch and it is blank.  Your cell phone is off, and out.  You notice a traffic light ahead of you is out, and the convenience store and its sign on the corner are devoid of lights.  Somewhere in the heart of the American Midwest, about 200 miles above the ground, an ICBM just went off and delivered an EMP to the U.S.

Keep It On The Down Low: Top 5 Ways To Hide Your Guns and Gear

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

For those who store food, preparedness supplies, gold, guns and ammunition, one of the most immediate concerns is keeping your investment safe. Naturally, given our reasons for stockpiling to begin with, the last place we want to be storing anything is with a “trusted” third party. Thus, things like safe deposit boxes are out, as are storage facilities unless you are using them as a secondary backup. Burying a cache on your property or in the wilderness is great, but there are certain things you’ll want to keep close by, especially as it relates to self defense or emergency cash.

This, of course, presents a challenge, because every time you leave your house you’ll wonder if the thousands of dollars you’ve invested in emergency supplies will be there when you come home.

The following video from the Bug Out Brothers provides some creative ways for you to keep at least some of your belongings relatively safe. Nothing is 100% foolproof, but we can certainly make it difficult for thieves to find and take what we’ve spent so much time earning.

Putin Sends Nuclear Bombers Over English Channel: “Transponders Turned Off… Invisible to Air Traffic Control”

Russian President Vladimir Putin hasn’t been one to back down in response to sanctions against his country and attacks on his economy. Rather, he has stepped up not only his rhetoric, but his military activities as well.

His latest move is yet another show of force to let the West know Russia is prepared to do whatever is necessary to protect its interests.

The U.K.’s Royal Air Force scrambled fighter jets on Thursday after a pair of nuclear-capable Russian bombers flew across a busy civilian air traffic corridor above the English Channel. The bombers had their transponders turned off, British officials said, making them invisible to many air traffic control systems. The incident disrupted multiple flights – and ended with the U.K. government demanding the Russian ambassador appear at the Foreign Office to explain the actions.

Chain Reaction of Problems Coming In 2015: “Collapse Will Be On A Scale That Is Many Magnitudes Greater Than 2008″

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

fuse-lit

If you’re like most Americans, then you are absolutely loving the price you paid this week for a gallon of gas. Just a couple of years ago it was not uncommon to see a $75 price tag for filling up your car. Today, you might be driving off for half that amount.

On the surface the recent drop in the price of oil has been a huge boost to America’s pocket books. But according to some analysts we shouldn’t be to quick to celebrate. The U.S. Oil and Gas industry has seen incredible job growth during the recession, with nearly 800,000 new jobs being attributed to domestic fracking and drilling expansion. At over $100 barrel, there was plenty of money to go around.

But with a sub-sixty dollar price point, it’s quite possible that all economic hell is about to break loose.

For many it has already begun.

Thousands of recently highly paid workers have been laid off after the oil price plummeted 50 percent in 2014. At least four American oil-producing states are already facing budget problems due to decreasing oil revenues.

[…]

In a study published last year, the Council on Foreign Relations warned the largest job losses caused by sharp decline in oil prices are going to take place in North Dakota, Oklahoma and Wyoming, where the number of drilling rigs is decreasing.

[…]

According to Tom Runiewicz, a US industry economist at IHS Global Insight, if oil stays around $56 a barrel till the middle of the next year, companies providing services to oil and gas industry could lose 40,000 jobs by the end of 2015, while oil and gas equipment manufacturers could slash up to 6,000 jobs.

These workers can earn more than $1,700 a week, much higher than the average $848 a week payment for other workers, the WSJ reported. When experienced workers lose their highly paid jobs, they stop paying their bills.

Source: RT

Those are the conservative estimates and they are based on a $56 price point, which is almost exactly where we are today. But Saudi Arabia and other OPEC nations have suggested the price could drop to $40 or even as low as $20.

In such a scenario we could easily see widespread layoffs in an industry that currently employs over 10 million Americans.

But that’s not even the worst of it.

While losing 50,000 or even a million jobs will have a major impact on consumer spending, and thus the economy, the real problem is the massive amount of leveraged bets and debt currently in the system. There are trillions of dollars of derivatives and leverage at play in financial markets, much of it centering around the oil & gas industry. Should the price of oil remain at these levels or go even lower then a lot of major financial institutions are going to be in trouble.

In a recent interview with King World News, John Ing says that not only did Congress remove financial safeguards when they passed their latest budget bill, but by doing so they left America susceptible to a disaster that will make 2008 look like a dress rehearsal.

While everybody appears to be celebrating the record highs on Wall Street, we are also seeing a loss of public trust.  One key example of this loss of public trust is when you look at the $1.1 trillion spending bill in the U.S., where there was the dilution of the Dodd-Frank Act which now allows for bail-ins in the United States… This will lead to disastrous consequences…

[…]

Meanwhile, the derivatives monster has gotten even bigger.  With the drop in the oil price we have yet to see the impact of the credit default swaps and what this will mean for the stability of the global financial system.

This will certainly set off a chain reaction of problems in 2015.

[…]

The 2008 collapse was just a dress rehearsal compared to what the world is going to face this time around.  This time we have governments which are even more highly leveraged than the private sector was.

So this time the collapse will be on a scale that is many magnitudes greater than what the world witnessed in 2008.

Full Interview: King World News via Steve Quayle

On top of all the other problems being faced by Americans – low wages, lackluster job growth, increased medical care costs, rising prices on essential goods, and more taxes to name a few – could the sudden drop in the price of oil could be the trigger that sends the whole thing crashing down?

As we saw in 2008 it can happen quickly. Within a matter of a few weeks trillions of dollars in wealth were vaporized and America fell into it’s worst recession since the 1930′s.

This time, as John Ing notes, the magnitude of the crash will be significantly worse and even the U.S. Treasury Department has warned that the system is so volatile that should there be even a single hiccup in our government’s ability to borrow money it would lead to a catastrophic effect lasting more than a generation.

America sits on the brink of the largest financial and economic collapse in the history of the world and the recent drop in the price of oil could be the Black Swan no one saw coming.

Those who fail to position themselves accordingly could experience serious damage to their wealth and well-being if and when this happens. Time is running short and now is the time to prepare. After the panic starts it will be too late.

Strategic Relocation Briefing: “A Huge Area Where One Can Find Mild Weather, Good Water, Rural Farmland And Down To Earth People”

Via Mac Slavo’s SHTF Plan

This week’s strategic relocation briefing from Joel Skousen takes us to the Lone Star State. Well known for its Second Amendment freedoms, expansive landscape, good hearted people and die-hard liberty lovers, those looking to relocate may find Texas to be an optimum final destination for a home or retreat. The business climate in the state has always been welcoming and advantageous, as has the cost of living, which is far lower than states like California or New York. But, like any retreat area in the country, it is not without its drawbacks.

Whether you are looking at Texas as a possibility or not, the following analysis from Joel Skousen guides you through the pros and cons of finding that perfect homestead and highlights key considerations such as metro areas and their suburban extensions, water availability and future trends as they relate to population growth. All of these points are essential to making the right decision.

If you have any questions about Texas or another retreat locale you can always contact the good folks at Survival Retreat Consulting (SRC) to help provide some guidance. When you’re ready to start searching for a home or retreat take a look at the Strategic Relocation For Sale By Owner web site – you’ll find nationwide listings, prepper-minded search tools and property survival ratings.

For insights on other areas of the country (and world) we recommend reading previous Strategic Relocation Briefings from Mr. Skousen. They are chalk full of incredible information that you’ll most certainly find helpful.

Strategic Relocation Briefing: Eastern Texas
By Joel Skousen
Author, Strategic Relocation and The Secure Home

Texas is a very large state with more than one climate and geography—very dry in the West and humid in the eastern part from Tyler down to Houston.  This week, I’ll cover east Texas as a Strategic Relocation destination.  But first we’ll cover some of the pros and cons of living in Texas as a state.

Climate:  Texas has a wide range of climate because of its size. Since it is located in the south central part of the continent, it experiences the effects of two dangerous air masses, Canadian cold air and the Gulf of Mexico’s warm, moist air, which often collide over Texas causing huge thunderstorms and tornados.  Eastern Texas has a Gulf Coastal climate with more rain than west Texas, lending to its pine forests, deep soil, and good growing conditions.  Texas gets a lot of sun so solar potential is good in the East and excellent in the drier West.

Population density is well below average in rural Texas (about 35 ppl/sq. mile), and above average within 50 miles of all the major cities.  Overall, the cost of living in Texas is the 6th lowest in nation, partly owing to its lack of an income tax.

Only 2% of Texas is government owned (State and federal), however, building permits are required state wide. Water Quality is good, except in urban areas (where 66% of Texas’ water supplies are fluoridated).  Stay some distance from large commercial farms where extensive fertilization of crops and spraying of chemicals takes place.  Air pollution is not a big problem in Texas except in the major cities. Traffic is only a big problem in Houston and Dallas/Ft, and to a lesser extent in Austin and San Antonio.

Texas is a conservative state although the large cities always tend to favor more liberal policies and the social welfare state—owing mostly to the liberal mainstream media, which dominates all large metro areas.  Corruption in Texas government and police is very high, including the metro level. The “good ol’ boys” network is a source of pride among all levels of power in Texas.

Gun liberty is pretty good in Texas. State law does not require a permit to purchase firearms, but is required to carry concealed (a “shall issue” if you meet the requirements.). Open carry of a handgun is not permitted except on your own property, but long guns are allowed in open carry in rural areas. Alternative Medicine is allowed with the full range of natural health practices. Home Schooling is nearly unfettered with the state which requires no notification, nor test scores.

Overall, I rate Texas pretty high except around the major cities. But in the long-term my assessment of Texas will always be diminishing due to the flood of illegal immigration, accompanied by crime, welfare dependency and socialist political trends—all of this encouraged or tacitly encouraged by the globalist multicultural conflict agenda guiding the current administration. Sadly, conservative Texans are easily fooled by politicians who talk and walk like traditional Texans and who say what conservatives want to hear, but are in league with powerful and corrupt national forces which intend to subvert traditional values in this once great state.

In general, because of the sheer size of this state, you can find medium-term safety in most rural areas away from the Mexican border and enjoy a fairly low cost lifestyle—at least for the present.  But, keep in mind that many areas of Texas, especially in the humid Gulf Coast, cities like Houston have only grown large due to air conditioning.  Without it life is pretty miserable during the summers.

All of the major metros in Texas are too big to survive social unrest in a major crisis, so you should plan on a rural retreat—and those should not be toward the south where the influx of immigrants are already becoming the majority.  If you must live near one of the large metro areas, you should locate in the suburban towns on the outer ring of any metro area. And within those suburban towns, you should also be located near the least populated segments leading away from cities. For, example, if you’re in the middle of suburban Plano or Garland, you will have a hard time escaping the traffic generated locally, not to mention what is being generated deeper inside the Dallas metro area. Remember, if you can’t get out quickly, you might as well stay put—don’t get stranded on the freeways or roads.

In the Dallas area/Fort Worth area, your best retreat sites are further East into the pine forest country of East Texas and northwest (toward the small towns near Witchita Falls)—but in this case, you can’t get West without first going north.  In the Houston area, you want to locate on the periphery in a northerly arc, centered around Spring Texas.  You best retreat sites are NW into the pine country of East Texas.

East Texas:  This is the beautiful pine country near the Louisiana border and the Gulf Coast.  It is generally defined by the east side of I-45 going north to an imaginary line going further north from Fairfield to Greenville on I-30 and then East to the border.  This area encompasses the outer ring of suburban cities around Houston, along the Gulf Coast to Port Arthur and includes all the small towns going north to Tyler Texas.  There are lots of good rural sites around the towns of Athens and Palestine, but most any rural area in the pine country will do.

Naturally, the Gulf Coast portion of this area within 25 miles of the water is not recommended due to the threat of Hurricanes.  This is a huge area where one can find mild weather, good water, rural farmland clearings and down to earth people.  However, keep in mind that the towns closest to Dallas and Houston will eventually receive a lot of refugees; so keeping to the central zone around the Angelina National Forest will give you the most buffering distance.

One of the big advantages of East Texas over West Texas is better soil depth and the ability to build basements without dealing with the notorious Caliche hardpan out West.  Wherever you decide to relocate to, be sure and check the listings at www.strategicrelocation.com.  Todd Savage, who runs the website has a great deal of expertise in preparedness property.

Survival Retreat Consulting, Todd Savage, on Bugging Out to your Retreat: There are some emergencies that call for drastic measures. We could go through a whole list of emergencies, but you’ll know when the crap really hits the fan and when to employ certain measures. In Texas, as well as other metro areas with outlying suburban townships, getting out via vehicle can be a major issue. The following technique could be the best bet to get out successfully if you’re caught off guard by a major event in and around major congested cities, especially when your timing and bug out route are compromised for whatever reason.

Emergency Bug Out Driving: Most volunteer Firefighter/EMT’s or even reserve LEO’s, probably have emergency warning lights installed in their vehicles. These come in handy when happening upon accident scene, et cetera, however they can be a Preppers best friend with the right type of vehicle, for that last ditch bug out.

Discreetly storing several Red or Blue (depending upon your jurisdiction) inside mounted LED light bars, the ones with window suction cups (about 10-12 inches in length each, for easy storage) can be used to move through traffic, possibly, if the conditions are right.

Will this work with your swagger wagon (Mini-van?), I highly doubt it, but those with Suburban’s and other SUV’s may look into this as a viable option, especially white, black and red colors. Could you go all out and install a siren and make magnet signs for a Fire Department or whatever, even going so far as making a uniform? Sure, but remember this is only to be used in that major TEOTWAWKI event, as there is certainly jail time awaiting you for actually impersonating an emergency worker.

Would any of this matter if you used this technique during a nuclear, biological or EMP lights out event? I doubt it. These items can be purchased easily online and stored for that rainy day. Most likely these are items that you may have never thought about needing to put in your bug-out bag, but they could be that thin margin between life and death.

Texas is spectacular for Solar alternative energy systems. The number one upgrade that almost all of our clients complete within the first year of making their Strategic Relocation is upgrading their retreat home with alternative energy. Besides abundant Water, energy creation is next in line.

I spoke with Brandon and Maggie, our friends over at Iron Edison Solar this morning. They have announced the new 300Ah USA made Series battery.  This battery is rated for 30 years or 11,000 full discharge cycles! SRC highly recommends the Iron Edison battery to all of our consulting clients.Mention this article or SRC to get 10% off your order!

Shock Report: 70 Million People Would Be Starving in the Streets Without Government Welfare Programs

Guest Post by Mac Slavo

the-american-dream-is-overAmid all the talk of recovery by politicians, economic officials and big business leaders, the fundamental numbers behind all the propaganda tell a starkly different story.

Home sales have dropped to record lows, more people are out of the workforce than anytime in the last 50 years, and cash-strapped consumers have run out of money to fuel economic growth.

By all meaningful measures the American boom times of old are gone.

A recent report from the Department of Health and Human Services suggests that we may have already reached the tipping point and that things are only going to get worse going forward.

According to the HHS, nearly half of all Americans are now dependent on some form of government benefit just to put food on the table. And of our population of 310 million, nearly one in four receive welfare benefits.

That’s over 70 million people who, if the government safety nets broke down due to lack of funding or a monetary crisis, would be starving on our streets right now.

The sheer magnitude of the numbers is shocking. What’s worse is that they are indicative of a continuing down-trend that won’t be improving any time soon.

According to the 2014 version of a report that the Department of Health and Human Services is required by law to issue annually, the percentage of Americans on welfare in 2011 was the highest yet calculated. The data for 2011 is the most recent in the report.

By this measure, according to the report, 23.1 percent of Americans were recipients of welfare in 2011. Since 1993, the earliest year covered by the report, that is the highest percentage of Americans reported to be receiving welfare.

A startling 38 percent of all children 5 and under in the United States were welfare recipients in 2011, according to the report.

When recipients of non-means-tested government programs (such as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment, and veterans benefits) were added to those receiving benefits from means-tested programs, the total number receiving benefits in the fourth quarter of 2011 was 151,014,000, according to the Census Bureau. That equaled 49.2 percent of the total population.

Of critical importance is that this particular report looks only at 2011. Since then we’ve seen even more people taken out of the labor force. Moreover, we’ve seen prices for all consumer goods rise during that time frame and incomes either stagnate or drop to inflation adjusted levels not seen since the 1960′s.

Thus, in all likelihood, we are well over the 50% mark. This means that without government assistance that may include social security, welfare, unemployment or other social services, at least one in two Americans would not be able to pay their rent, buy food, or keep their utilities turned on.

The end of the world as know it is happening right now.

What’s worse is that the those in the upper echelons of our government know it.

They have been actively preparing for the fallout by war-gaming large scale economic collapse scenarios and militarizing domestic law enforcement for the civil unrest to follow.

The American public got a small taste of what something like that might look like when the Electronic Benefit Transfer systems in sixteen states went offline last year for about 12 hours last year.

Nothing short of panic ensued; along with the looting and riots the government expects will invariably happen should the welfare and social distribution systems come under strain.

Watch: How Am I Going to Feed My Family

The above videos depict the reactions from people in an event that was limited to a small portion of benefits recipients in several states.

Imagine what would happen if such a crisis developed across the entire United States and affected a full quarter of our entire population.

Tess Pennington, author of The Prepper’s Blueprint, warns that such a scenario could lead to a breakdown of the system as we know it within a matter of days.

“Think of mass chaos of people running into grocery stores to get as much food and supplies as possible, gas lines that run out into the street, highways at a virtual stand still, banks not giving out money, looting, fires, the health of the elderly deteriorating due to not being able to get needed medicines, babies crying because they have no formula to drink.  It’s not a pretty picture when you allow yourself to imagine it.”

And then, once the store shelves are empty, the real disaster begins, as the government will have no choice but to deploy military assets to quell the riots, and that means mass detentions, incarcerations and maybe worse.
