Marijuana is not the safe drug you have been led to believe

Via Gen Z Conservative

At age 13, Leonna Davis lost her father to suicide. Years later, a little-known, marijuana-related disease forced Davis to a place where she, too, considered taking her own life.

A recently identified disease caused by chronic use of marijuana, Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS), has become increasingly common across the country. Its symptoms — severe stomach pain and nausea, depression and suicidal ideation — have caused increasing health care costs, emotional and physical distress.

Brian Smith Jr., 17-year-old Indiana high school student, died after suffering from dehydration due to the disease, according to the coroner’s report. Neither Smith nor his mother, Regina Denney, believed the doctors when they diagnosed him with CHS. He was dead three months later.

Marijuana, Mental Illness and Violence

Guest Post by Walter E. Williams

Ten states and Washington, D.C., have legalized the recreational use of marijuana. Twenty-two other states, along with U.S. territories Puerto Rico and Guam, allow marijuana to be used for medical purposes. Let’s examine some hidden issues about marijuana use.

Before we start, permit me to state my values about medical or recreational use of any drug. We each own ourselves. If we choose to take chances with substances that can ruin our health, lead to death and otherwise destroy our own lives, that’s our right. But we do not have a right to harm others in the process of harming ourselves.

TRUMP REKINDLES ANOTHER POINTLESS WAR

The Drug War.  So much for federalism.  SSS is elated.

Pot Stocks Tumble After Jeff Sessions Rescinds Policies Allowing States To Legalize Pot

Just days after California started selling recreational marijuana to anyone over the age of 21, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has announced plans to rescind policies that have allowed states to circumvent federal laws and legalize the drug.  According to the Associated Press, the move by Sessions will require U.S. attorneys where pot is legal to decide whether to aggressively enforce federal marijuana law.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is going after legalized marijuana. Sessions is rescinding a policy that had let legalized marijuana flourish without federal intervention across the country.

That’s according to two people with direct knowledge of the decision. They were not allowed to publicly discuss it before an announcement expected Thursday and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The move will leave it to U.S. attorneys where pot is legal to decide whether to aggressively enforce federal marijuana law. The move likely will add to confusion about whether it’s OK to grow, buy or use marijuana in states where it’s legal, since long-standing federal law prohibits it.

TREMBLE, KING ALCOHOL

I wonder what SSS thinks about this? Personally I’d rather share the world and the road with stoners than drunks any day of the week.** I still don’t agree with legalizing weed (as opposed to decriminalization) because it just invites Uncle Sugar to become even more involved in people’s lives, but the results, if accurate, indicate changes that few, if any, predicted prior to legalization.

“A report by the Cannabiz Consumer Group (C2G) found that more than a quarter of the 40,000 people surveyed are already substituting bud (or would if they lived in weed-friendly territory) for beer. Overall beer sales dipped in 2015, and the C2G study predicts that cannabis could eventually “canna-balize” 7.1 percent of its current retail market revenues (resulting in a drop of more than $2 billion in beer sales).

I_S VISITS A LEGAL MARIJUANA SHOP

After going out to breakfast this morning I walked down the street to check out my first legal weed shop in person. I was curious to find out if the prices for weed on priceofweed.com in states where it had been legalized were based on legal purchases or black market because their website does not say. I walked there mostly because I don’t want my license plate recorded (if that kind of thing is going on) but it is colder than a well diggers ass out there at 7 degrees above zero!

The place was clean and neat with no hint of marijuana aroma at all. Called Smokane, it looked a bit like a white sterile hospital room with jewelry display cases. There was a chalk board menu of their products on the wall which isn’t really helpful unless you are familiar with the hundreds of different strains that exist. They break things down by type which falls into sativa (head high) and indica (body high) and hybrids which supposedly offer aspects of both.

MARIJUANA TRUTH

Almost two years ago SSS made a prediction………..

Taken from:

COLORADO AND MARIJUANA – THE BUBBLE WILL BURST

Posted on 11th January 2014 by SSS

“Legal marijuana sales in Colorado, undoubtedly spurred by the initial high demand, is already selling for 2-3 times the price you would pay on the black market. Just like New York and NYC, which enjoyed an initial explosion in cigarette tax revenues when they enacted Draconian taxes, this will not last. The Mexicans who control the marijuana black markets in Colorado will see to it. “In 2012 the Mexican Competitiveness Institute issued a report saying that Mexico’s cartels would lose as much as $1.425 billion if Colorado legalized marijuana.” That’s not pocket change, and the people you’re trying to take that money from carry guns. Guns with high capacity magazines, which are against the law in Colorado. Heh. Don’t you just love the irony?”

“I have said repeatedly in the past that these violent organizations will not go quietly into that good night. Over time, I will be proven right. And it will be sooner rather than later because the stakes are so much higher. Avoid the rush and express your appreciation for this keen market analysis with your effusive praise as soon as possible.”

PRICES
Well, well, well! I wasn’t going to address the price aspect of weed because my own personal experience with weed prices is a bit dated. I intended to address the Big Bad Mexican Drug Cartel influence on legal weed that SSS claimed would come to pass. I’ll get to that in a moment but since it’s so easy to destroy his “price of weed” nonsense I’ll do that first.

WAS SSS ON INTERSTATE 8 THIS MORNING???

Bales of marijuana were hurled out of a truck Wednesday during a high speed chase on Interstate 8 in Arizona.

According to police, much of the evidence was lost because motorists stopped to pick up the marijuana that had been tossed by the two male occupants in the truck.

Jim Knupp, a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said that a deputy spotted the 2006 white Trailblazer traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to perform a traffic stop, KSDK reported.

“The vehicle began to accelerate to speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and the occupants began to throw bales of marijuana out of the vehicle onto the roadway,” Knupp stated.

The chase ended when police laid down spike strips, which deflated the truck’s tires.

KSDK reported that the men identified as 43-year-old Mario Perez-Paz and 21-year-old Juan Aguilar-Zavala, fled from the truck and were successfully arrested by police shortly after.

The police investigation led to the discovery of a stash house in Mesa where officials found 20 illegal immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala.

Roughly 375 pounds of marijuana was collected in the investigation by police. The men are facing a number of charges, including conspiracy to transport drugs for sale and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
