Gladness and Silence amid Chaos and Violence

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either — but right through every human heart — and through all human hearts.

― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters.  With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.

… The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. The name written on her forehead was a mystery: Babylon the Great, the mother of prostitutes, and of the abominations of the earth.

 – Revelation 17:1-5

I had been emotionally involved a few times with women with enough of a record of promiscuity to make me vaguely uneasy. It is difficult to put much value on something the lady has distributed all too generously. I have the feeling there is some mysterious quota, which varies with each woman.  And whether she gives herself or sells herself, once she reaches her own number, once X pairs of hungry hands have been clamped rightly upon her rounded undersides, she suffers a sea change wherein her juices alter from honey to acid, her eyes change to glass, her heart becomes a stone, and her mouth a windy cave from whence, with each moisturous gasping, comes a tiny stink of death.

― MacDonald, John D. (1966). “Darker Than Amber”, Travis McGee series, Random House LLC, 2013, pgs 56-57

We live in an age of wizards and whores where souls are sold in the pursuit of material pleasures. Time-honored principles have been traded for profit and power as lawlessness intensifies.

The word “mystery” is defined as “something not understood or beyond understanding” or, in a religious sense:  “truth that one can know only by revelation and cannot fully understand”.   This would imply more than simply not knowing. A mystery can be that which exceeds human understanding.

There is a saying I’ve heard over and over in my life that has… for the most part… been stated by older men with whom I’ve been related and/or acquainted:  “The older I get, the less I know”.

UNDER THE BOARDWALK

Yeah, under the reinforced boardwalk, down by the sea, yeahOn a mobility scooter with my obese tatted baby is where I’ll be

Out of the sun(Under the boardwalk) We’ll be havin’ some funnel cake(Under the boardwalk) People waddling above(Under the boardwalk) We’ll be fallin’ in love with fried oreos & fudge(Under the boardwalk) Yeah (riding the tramcar instead of walking)

We finished our vacation week in Wildwood. No more stories about drunken nights at the Shamrock. It is now a construction site, with new $800,000 cookie cutter condos slated to replace a famous institution, which gave me unlimited fodder for at least two dozen articles about the crazy nights spent at our favorite bar over the last fifteen years.

Tom Gerace, 59, owner of Shamrock, stands outside of the Shamrock as it's being torn apart inside to clear way when moving the Victorian house above it on Friday, June 25, 2021. “It’s depressing and we put a lot of work into it,” Gerace said. “Stuff happens and I did what was best for me at some point. If I opened back up I would lose my liquor license.”

We still see Billy Jack, as he regularly plays at The Cove, two blocks from the old Shamrock, but it isn’t the same. There is another construction boom in Wildwood, but I won’t be lured into buying at the top again. I’ll wait for the crash that may never come. But some things never change in good old Wildwood. It’s lucky they replaced a good chunk of the boardwalk, because I don’t think the old boards could support the obese land whales waddling towards the funnel cake stand or racing down the boards on their mobility scooters to buy a fried twinkie washed down by a 128 ounce lemonade (extra sugar) on one of their eight credit cards.

Random Musings at The End of Life as We Knew It

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

For me, the proverbial glass is either half empty or half full contingent upon where I’m looking. When I watch the news, I get angry. And every day, as I experience the strange surreality of post-America, I have to pinch myself just to make sure I’m not dreaming like Rip Van Winkle waking up in a Tim Burton film.

For my own mental state, therefore, I have to look away at times and step into the brilliant day. It truly is a beautiful time of year. Even so, whilst out in the lush emerald environs, and under the warm sun, it’s hard to shake the sense of doom; as this may be the last good summer.

—-The Stage is Set

Society is wide open here currently and masks, for the most part, have been relegated to the lowly relevance of a bad memory.

It’s a trap, of course, that will likely spring shut this fall and winter. But, in the meantime, the people are celebrating their freedom-via-Big Pharma, and perfectly timed with good weather. It could not have been planned any better. This is because the Covid vaccinations have, apparently, “culturally misappropriated” the power of Vitamin D in the summer sun. Or stated another way: Big Pharma is stealing the immune system’s valor.

Russia Decides to Hold onto God, Heterosexual Marriage, and Putin

Via The Telegraph

Russia’s 2013 law against “gay propaganda” has been used to ban LGBT rallies.

Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has submitted amendments to parliament that would enshrine God and heterosexual marriage in the constitution.

Mr Putin first floated the idea of constitutional amendments in January when he spoke about cutting presidential powers and bolstering the parliament and other state bodies in what observers saw as maneuvering ahead of 2024 when his fourth term expires.

MARRIAGE QOTD

Submitted by a TBP reader

I am a woman, around the age of 30. I have been in a happy relationship for eight years now. I have always been of the opinion that marriage is a worthy institution and something that is a commitment and oath of solidarity. My boyfriend does not feel the same.

We are happy together. We trust each other. We love each other. We know each other incredibly well, and we keep each other sane in a crazy world.

So what is the benefit of marriage? Is it necessary? Is it worth the trouble of reaching out to the government for approval of being together and roping assets together? Are the divorce rates compared to the ending of relationships that are simply domestic partnerships something to take into account? Is marriage something that is dying out as the next generation finds their way?

Marriage: The Original Win-Win

Guest Post by Bill Bonner

POITOU, FRANCE – You can divide the world’s people – all its bumblers, fumblers, fools, and saints – into two categories.

There are the decent people who go about their business trying to improve their lives by honest toil, invention, forbearance, and luck.

And there are the scoundrels.

All of us are one or the other… and often both.

Imagined Tyrants

Progress and improvement involve change. Most people try to avoid it. But by improving their own lives, they change themselves and the world around them. The scoundrels try to force somebody else to change.

Either can work, in the short run. Long-term, only one does.

Even in our private lives, we all blame others for our problems from time to time. The boss at work… the spouse at home – both can be tyrants, real or imagined.

Still, good people get along and go along, adjusting their own behavior as necessary.

Meditations and Musings, in a Church, on Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day, my family and I attended a worship service at the church where my wife and I were married three decades ago. While sitting in the pew, waiting for the service to start, it struck me how little the nave had changed. Actually, from what I could see, it had not changed at all.

Traveling back in time, mentally, to the day I was married, I pictured my bride, the room, and the people in attendance. Then I imagined time passing outside in an array of flowing colors, similar to a DVD set on fast-forward; as the worship area remained unmoved and steadfast, like a super-sized stone stuck in the center of a rushing river.

TWO PARENT HOUSEHOLDS HIT ALL-TIME LOW

Via Marketwatch

The American family has changed a lot over the last 50 years.

About one-quarter of parents living with a child in America in 2018 are unmarried, up from 7% five decades ago, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data released Wednesday. This trend to co-parent without getting married has also reduced the rate of single mothers, who accounted for 53% of unmarried parents last year versus 88% five decades ago, the study found. Today, 35% of all unmarried parents are living with a partner.

Socialism Has Destroyed the Social Structure

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

Nursing Home

World Fertility RateOnce upon a time, couples would have three to five children for that was their retirement. Family was everything. Then came Marx who effectively replaced the family with politicians. The family structure has declined steadily since the introduction of socialism. Children no longer save to take care of their parents for that is government’s job.

While some still tout that we are becoming over-populated, the number of children has been dropping remarkably. In China they implemented the one-child rule. That resulted in couples only wanting boys to carry on the family name. But daughters are typically those who take care of their parents zealously. China passed rules that the only child had to visit their parents. Now, the government is stepping in again and reducing the credit of adult children who do not visit their parents.

In the West, family size has fallen by about 50% from World War II. In Eastern Europe, the family structure remains intact only because people learned under communism not to count on the state for anything. In the West, people are living the dream — and that is all it is. They actually think government cares about them. This is why there is a new awakening we are watching with the manifestation of an new anti-establishment era.

Married Family with Children

Socialism has drastically altered the family structure. Government claimed it would replace the parents, and as a result, they succeeded in altering the very foundation of humanity that supported the family for centuries.

Soros Paid Leftist Groups to Silence Pope on Abortion and Marriage

Newly released documents from Wikileaks have exposed the efforts of hard-left billionaire George Soros to make Pope Francis quiet down on social issues like abortion and man-woman marriage and make income equality and global warming the centerpiece of his visit last year to the U.S. The documents show how these wealthy groups worked closely with the Pope’s closest advisers including two U.S. Bishops and one Latin American Cardinal.

The plan was first advanced at a board meeting of Soros’s Open Society U.S. Programs Board in May, 2015, where the radical group boasts of direct influence with Pope Francis. At that meeting, the board announced a $650,000 grant to a wealthy radical group called PICO “in order to seize this moment..to engage the Pope on economic and racial justice issues, including using (emphasis added) the influence of Cardinal Rodriquez, the Pope’s senior advisor, and sending a delegation to visit the Vatican in the spring or summer to allow him to hear directly (emphasis added) from low-income Catholics in America.”

8 Reasons Why It Is So Hard To Find Someone Decent To Marry

Guest Post by Michael Snyder

Love And Marriage - Public Domain

It is not easy to be single in America today. If you are a man, it can be exceedingly difficult to find a good woman to marry. If you are a woman, it is literally a miracle if you can find a good man to marry. So is it just our imaginations, or has the process of finding a mate become much more challenging in recent years? Well, it is a fact that fewer people are getting married these days. For the first time in our history, there are more single adults in our country than married adults, and Time Magazine says that 25 percent of Millennials will never get married even once in their entire lifetimes. And of course those that do get married are taking far longer to do so than previous generations. Just recently, I wrote about how the average American woman is getting married 7.0 years later than she did in 1956, and the average American man is getting married 6.7 years later than he did back at that time.

So why is this happening?

Why has finding love become so challenging?

Below, I would like to share 8 reasons why it has become so hard to find someone decent to marry…

FOURTH TURNING – SOCIAL & CULTURAL DISTRESS DIVIDING THE NATION

I wrote the first three parts of this article back in September and planned to finish it in early October, but life intervened and truthfully I don’t think I was ready to confront how bad things will likely get as this Fourth Turning moves into the violent, chaotic war stage just over the horizon. The developments in the Middle East, Europe, U.S., China and across the globe in the last months have confirmed my belief war drums are beating louder, global war beckons, and much bloodshed will be the result. Fourth Turnings proceed at their own pace within the 20 to 25 year crisis framework, but there is one guarantee – they never de-intensify as they progress. Just as Winter gets colder, stormier and more bitter as you proceed from December through February, Fourth Turnings get nastier, grimmer, more perilous, with our way of life hanging in the balance.

In Part 1 of this article I discussed the catalyst spark which ignited this Fourth Turning and the seemingly delayed regeneracy. In Part 2 I pondered possible Grey Champion prophet generation leaders who could arise during the regeneracy. In Part 3 I focused on the economic channel of distress which is likely to be the primary driving force in the next phase of this Crisis. In Part 4 I will assess the social and cultural channels of distress dividing the nation, Part 5 the technological, ecological, political, military channels of distress likely to burst forth with the molten ingredients of this Fourth Turning, and finally in Part 6 our rendezvous with destiny, with potential climaxes to this Winter of our discontent.

The road ahead will be distressful for everyone living in the U.S., as we experience the horrors of war, economic collapse, civil chaos, political upheaval, and the tearing of society’s social fabric. The pain and suffering being experienced across the globe today will not bypass the people of the United States. Winter has arrived and lethal storms are gathering in the distance. Don’t think you can escape. You can prepare, but this Crisis will reshape our society for better or worse, and you cannot sidestep the consequences or cruel environment we must survive.

DECLINE OF THE FAMILY

The chart below captures much of what has gone wrong in this country since 1970. Households in 1970 looked entirely different than households today. In 1970, almost 71% of all households consisted of married couples. Today, only 50% of all households are occupied by married couples. The divorce rate prior to 1970 ranged between 9 and 11 per 1,000 married women. After 1970 the divorce rate skyrocketed by 100% to between 20 and 23 per 1,000 married women.

In 1970 46% of two parent households had a stay at home mom. Only 33% of mothers worked full-time in 1970. That was true because a family could live a decent middle class life on one salary. In 1970 31% of all the jobs in the country were higher paying goods production jobs. Today, only 10% of jobs are goods producing jobs. The shift from a country based upon saving and production to a services oriented nation based on debt based consumption is reflected in the chart.

The primary reason the percentage of mom’s working full time has risen from 33% to 52% is the fateful decision by Richard Nixon to close the gold window in 1971, allowing central bankers to print money, create relentless inflation (83% loss in purchasing power of USD), promoting the financialization of America by Wall Street, and encouraged politicians to promise voters goodies they can never deliver without the ability to run up the national debt without a seeming consequence.
