Real Strategies For Removing Federal Presence From Western Lands

 Guest Post by Brandon Smith

When activist movements enter into confrontation with a corrupt government or establishment structure, often the temptation is to stick rather closely to what they know. The problem with this is that even though circumstances change and the fighting escalates, people will still turn to their old standby methods for defending themselves. This makes these movements repetitive, predictable and ineffective.

In the case of the liberty movement, the more passive tactic of marches and sign waving is immediately suggested. But inevitably some hothead is going to demand one of two things: a mass armed surge on the steps of Washington, D.C., or some kind of Alamo-inspired cinematic standoff. You would think that these strategies were the only two aggressive methods in existence; they are brought up so often it becomes mind-numbing.

I can understand (to a point) why the standoff concept keeps popping up. The movement has seen it work at least once at Bundy ranch. However, Bundy ranch came with a very specific set of circumstances that made the standoff strategy useful. The ranch was private property owned by freedom-minded people; it was a home being invaded by federal agents exhibiting intent to do physical harm and confiscate the livelihood of those in their crosshairs. Whether or not people agreed with the grazing rights issues that originally triggered the standoff, no one with any moral fortitude could deny that the Fed response was unacceptable.

The “Oregon Standoff” is a Modern-Day Western

PARIS – “Brutal”… “horrible”… “horrendous” – these are just a few of the hyperbolic adjectives used to describe last week’s stock market.

The S&P 500 is down 6% so far in 2016… and $1 trillion in investor wealth has gone up in smoke.

In fact, it was the worst opening week for global markets in history. But c’mon… look at the glass as half full. Wall Street’s decline was less than half of Shanghai’s 14% loss.

There are important economic and political power reasons behind the fact that the government lays claim to huge swathes of land it refuses to privatize. Many people have probably never thought about this much, but is about a conflict that goes back to the time when the American States were still British crown colonies. Bundy is a modern-day representative of what was then the agricultural debtor class – which has drawn the short stick since forever.

And on Monday morning, Chinese stocks were tumbling again. So, there will likely be more trouble ahead – on both sides of the globe. But hey, this is only the beginning, not the end. That’s still ahead!

A Modern Western

“It’s a modern Western,” said one of our sons, describing the standoff in Oregon between armed militia men and the feds.

“What do you mean?” we asked.

“In modern movies, you’re never quite sure who the good guys are.”

Cruz and Rubio Side With BLM Over Land Grab In Oregon.

Hat tip John Coster.

The title is a bit drab but the article is excellent. The video of Rep. Greg Walden is well worth the time to watch. The man is passionate.

Be sure to read the updates below the video as well. Apparently Trump is sending his own man to the NWR to end the psyop and report the truth.  Excellent! It’s going to be sad when TPTB rub him out.

Cruz and Rubio Side With BLM Over Land Grab In Oregon.

Any Senator or Congress person, and any candidate who is saying that the Oregon defenders of the constitution are being lawless need to do a bit of homework and look at why they are standing up and what they are really fighting. They are tired of the land grab of the BLM, tired of the bully tactics, the harsh and cruel punishment for those defending their land and land rights to water and grasslands.
