We finished our vacation week in Wildwood. No more stories about drunken nights at the Shamrock. It is now a construction site, with new $800,000 cookie cutter condos slated to replace a famous institution, which gave me unlimited fodder for at least two dozen articles about the crazy nights spent at our favorite bar over the last fifteen years.

We still see Billy Jack, as he regularly plays at The Cove, two blocks from the old Shamrock, but it isn’t the same. There is another construction boom in Wildwood, but I won’t be lured into buying at the top again. I’ll wait for the crash that may never come. But some things never change in good old Wildwood. It’s lucky they replaced a good chunk of the boardwalk, because I don’t think the old boards could support the obese land whales waddling towards the funnel cake stand or racing down the boards on their mobility scooters to buy a fried twinkie washed down by a 128 ounce lemonade (extra sugar) on one of their eight credit cards.

For most of the ninety years since James Truslow Adams coined the term American Dream, most Americans still believed the fairy tale of the American Dream, that no matter how humble your beginnings, everyone had a fair chance to become a success in America, based upon your individual talent, intelligence, work ethic and a society that rewarded those who exceled. Sadly, that dream is no longer achievable for most Americans. CULTURAL DECLINE EXPLAINED IN ONE CHART

The cultural decline of America can be explained from the data in this chart. Over 40% of all babies in America are being born out of wedlock. This is what the welfare state has wrought. LBJ’s Great Society was rolled out in 1965. In 1965, 24% of black infants were born out of wedlock. The Democrat welfare state was supposed to reduce this rate. Today, 70.4% of black infants are born out of wedlock. This is called success by left wingers.

Only 3% of white babies were born out of wedlock in 1965. Today, the amount is 29.2%. Hispanic babies are also being born out of wedlock at an outrageous rate of 52.9%. These rates correlate with educational achievement, household income, and success in life. It is no coincidence that only 16.4% of Asian babies are born out of wedlock. The breakdown of the traditional family, encouraged by liberals/democrats, is the cause of our cultural decay.

Welfare state programs and policies caused this. You get more of what you incentivize. Blacks, Hispanics and a large swath of whites now realize they can get more government handouts by having more kids out of wedlock. They get more freebies and the kids grow up to be ignorant, lazy, and dependent on the state. The money is running out and a rude awakening awaits the ignorant masses.


WHOSE FAULT IS BALTIMORE?

I’ve seen the liberal lying MSM pondering how WE could allow the riots, looting, burning and lawlessness to happen, as if it is our collective fault. Obama stands before his teleprompter and pontificates about the need for us to end the poverty that supposedly led to Purge Night in Charm City. That term cracks me up. The city has so much charm, its football team once snuck out of town overnight and headed to Indianapolis. It has so much charm its baseball team was forced to play a game with no fans in the stands.

I think most people can agree that Freddie Gray, a petty drug dealer, was killed in police custody for the crime of looking suspicious. The policemen who killed him deserve to go to jail for murder. As usual, the powers that be circled the wagons and intended to exonerate the hero first responders. The people of Baltimore had a right to be pissed. They had a right to protest. They didn’t have a right to burn businesses and cars. They didn’t have the right to riot, loot, and injure others.

It is the police department created and controlled for decades by Democratic progressive politicians that has committed the atrocities against the people who have been electing these progressives year after year. Baltimore has a corrupt, reckless, out of control police department enabled by a crooked and incompetent Baltimore politicians. The rap sheet for Baltimore’s finest is long:

  • Police commissioner Ed Norris was sent to prison on corruption charges (2004)
  • Two detectives were sentenced to 454 years in prison for dealing drugs (2005)
  • An officer was dismissed after being videotaped verbally abusing a 14-year-old and then failing to file a report on his use of force against the same teenager (2011)
  • An officer was been fired for sexually abusing a minor (2014)
  • The city paid a quarter-million-dollar settlement to a man police illegally arrested for the non-crime of recording them at work with his mobile phone.

The cries of racism and white oppression ring hollow. It’s a tired storyline. Facts are always inconvenient to race baiters with an agenda to extract more money from whites with a guilty conscience and the inability or unwillingness to speak the truth. Let’s examine some facts about good old Charm City, USA.

THE WAR ON PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Ignorance is a choice. Having unprotected sex is a choice. Dropping out of high school is a choice. Not getting married is a choice. Our culture has been in downward spiral since the mid 1960s. Is it just a coincidence that the War on Poverty programs began simultaneously with this downward spiral? As a country we decided anything goes. No one was responsible for their actions. The government would create a program to solve every problem created by people not taking responsibility for their lives and accepting the consequences of their bad choices.
