The Others

Guest Post by The Zman

Prior to the Super Bowl, I was made aware of a television ad from Audi. The ad was based on the long ago discredited claim that women are systematically paid less for doing the same work as men. Here’s the ad. It’s one of those times when the PC proselytizing is actually worse than what you expected.  Watching it through to the end is difficult because the smug radiates from the screen like a bad odor. It’s not the ridiculous preening that is repugnant. It is the inappropriateness. Who does Audi think buys their cars?

It’s not hard to imagine the room where this ad was screened for the executives at Audi USA. Men and women in snappy business suits talked about how to target the professional female car buyer. Maybe they had data showing that Audi lags in this segment compared to its competitors. Everyone watched the ad, nodded in agreement, felt brave and wonderful and then agreed it should be the big ad for the big game. No one bothered to ask if Audi or the ad agency pays their females less than their males.

The Highest-Paying Companies In America

Looks like consulting and IT are the road to riches in the working world. It’s funny the highly paid CEOs of big corporations who are supposed to be the strategic thinkers have to hire highly paid consultants to tell them what to do. These Ivy League educated consultants then tell the CEOs they should buy back their stock as the best way to succeed. Fucking brilliant. This will surely end well.

Research conducted by online employment website Glassdoor has found that consulting and technology companies offer their employees some of the highest salaries in America. Chicago-based consulting firm A.T. Kearney was ranked first overall for pay with median total compensation amounting to $167,534. Strategy& came second with $160,000 while Juniper Networks rounded off the top three with $157,000.

WOULD YOU LIKE FRIES WITH THAT?

Thank God for obesity and stupidity. Without it, there would be no job growth in America. We always need more teachers – it’s for the chilruns. It requires more and more union government drones to make our chilruns dumber. With 13% of the population obese and growing, we need more healthcare workers to supply them with drugs and help them tie their shoes and wipe their fat asses. But the real growth industry in America is feeding the rotund masses. In 1990 there were 17.5 million manufacturing workers in the U.S. and 6.2 million waiters & bartenders. The gap was 11.3 million.

Today there are 12.3 million manufacturing workers and 11 million waiters & bartenders. The gap is 1.3 million.

Hmm. I wonder which jobs pay more?

The American transformational success story in all its glory.

Thank you NAFTA, globalization, corporate fascists, corrupt politicians, Harvard MBAs and the insatiable appetites of the average American.

OBAMA’S JOB HERE IS DONE

When Obama sauntered into office in January of 2009 there were 28 million people on food stamps and 43 million women working full time. Today there are 44 million women working full time and 47 million on food stamps. This is the same president blathering about equal pay for women as if he is their champion. The majority of the 19 million new food stamp recipients are women. Maybe if his economic policies encouraged businesses to expand, women could actually get jobs rather than be forced into the SNAP program. Obama is nothing but a divisive liar with a low IQ and a sociopathic need for glory and praise. He will go down in history as the worst U.S. President.

Food Stamp Recipients and Women Who Work Full-Time

In the average month of 2012, according to the Department of Agriculture, there were 46,609,000 people participating in the food stamp program (formally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). That contrasts with the 44,059,000 women who worked full-time, year-round in 2012, according to the Census Bureau’s report on Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States.
