What Has Made America’s Inner Cities Into A Violent Warzone

The 312 homicides in Philly during 2017 are the highest since 2012. They are up 27% since 2013. If the economy has been improving and black unemployment is really as low as I’ve been told by Trump and the BLS, why would homicides in Philly be soaring?

The stories coming out from Chicago and Baltimore paint an increasingly pessimistic picture: that America’s inner cities are transitioning into a warzone, where violence has returned to levels not seen since the drug wars of the early 1990s.

Take for example Chicago, five men were killed and at least 20 people shot over the four-day Christmas holiday weekend. Last year, 59 people were shot over the same period, leaving 11 dead.

Across the United States, homicides rose about 9% last year with more than one-third of the increase concentrated in Chicago neighborhoods, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Despite the overall deterioration of American inner cities, there was some improvement in areas such as Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., where declines in violent crimes have been in downward trajectories since the 1990s.

PHILLY #1 AGAIN

When I saw the title of the article and heard Philly had the most vermin, I thought it was a story about Philly politicians. Even though Democrat politicians in Philly are vermin, we finished #1 for most rats and mice per household. We are beaming with pride. We are a little pissed that we only finished 13th in cockroaches. We was robbed.

So if you like high wage taxes, high real estate taxes, horrible schools, plenty of violent crime, decaying infrastructure, exploding water pipes under your streets, corrupt politicians, lazy union government workers, filthy streets, 8% sales taxes, 50% beverage taxes, and being overrun by rodents, then Philly is the place for you. We’ve got a decaying hovel with your name on it.

The Most Vermin-Infested American Cities

By Patrick Clark

The household critters that lurk behind radiators and under shower drains are a nuisance for lay people, and an impossible math problem for public health researchers and pest control companies: How many rats live in New York? Cockroaches in New Orleans? Since the U.S. Census can’t talk to the creatures to get a head count, the government does the next best thing: It asks homeowners and renters.

The Odious Versus the Tedious

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

You thought the Republican convention was a ghastly spectacle of royal Trumpery (and Iago-style backstabbing featuring the arch-asshole Ted Cruz)? Now comes the Democratic Annunciation of I’m-With-Her-It’s-My-Turn, the incarnation of crony corruption in our late-state Republic of Racketeering. Remember that old movie, The Exorcist, with its demonic spewage of projectile vomit. Expect something like that on the grand scale in Philadelphia this week as the Exalted-Breaker-of-Glass-Ceilings steps forth to accept her victory tiara.

The New York Times is blaming the Ruskies for releasing those thousands of new emails disclosing the perfidy of the Democratic National Committee staff in pimping for Hillary against Bernie and trafficking with the major network news operations to manage and spin things Her way — and especially to rig the electoral machinery against Sanders. How much will his supporters Feel the Bern this week in Philly as the party attempts to put on an appearance of unity (Ha!) behind HRC? How can it conceivably be possible now for Bernie to stand by her side for the crucial unity photo op? I suspect he’d rather chew his right arm off.

ANOTHER PHILLY CLUSTERF*CK

Another example of Philly incompetence, corruption, and terrible decision making. The morons running SEPTA decided to replace their functional 1960s produced trains with the cheapest foreign made trains and then had them assembled by union workers in South Philly. After 4 years of service all of the new trains are defective and could derail at any time. These boobs now have to take 33% of their fleet offline for months.

You can be sure this company has feathered the nests of the politicians who chose them. When black thugs aren’t terrorizing passengers on the platforms, their brand new trains are falling apart. They are so well run that revenue comes up only $850 million short of expenses. Taxpayers are forced to subsidize their massive loss. Maybe another advertising campaign using taxpayer funds will rectify this slight problem. Philly is the clusterfuck capital of the world. I can’t wait for the DNC in three weeks.

Silverliner V 101: The problematic backstory of SEPTA’s futuristic cars

Just like that, a third of the cars on SEPTA’s incredibly popular Regional Rail line went out of service, one day into the holiday weekend that best showcases Philadelphia. On Saturday, the transit authority abruptly sidelined 120 of its Silverliner V passenger cars due to a “significant structural defect” after staffers noticed they were “leaning.” Ominously, the move set the stage for a potential commuting mess when the 130,000 people who ride the Regional Rail try to do that again after the July 4 holiday.

THE GREAT PHILLY “FART IN” TO PROTEST HILLARY’S FLATULENCE OF THE MOUTH

I’m so sad I’ll be in Colorado during the Philly Democratic National Convention freak show of FSA army members, Black Thugs Matters activists, feminist freaks, trannies, and assorted other nutjobs. But I’m really upset that I’ll miss the great Hillary Fart In. The Wells Fargo Center doesn’t smell great to begin with and Hillary’s supporters already have the wretched stench of liberalism wafting above them. Now add in thousands of baked bean filled Bernie supporters and you’ve got an explosive situation. Mayor Kenney has proposed a fart tax to take advantage of the situation. Here is a preview of Hillary’s DNC acceptance speech:

Via Truthdig

Philadelphia: Cheri Honkala, the leader of the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign, announced that her group was organizing the world’s largest “fart-in” to be held on July 28 at the Wells Fargo Center during Hillary Clinton’s anticipated acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination.

“We will be holding a massive bean supper for Bernie Sanders delegates on American Street in my Kensington neighborhood on the afternoon of July 28,” she said. “We are setting up a Clintonville there, modeled on the Hoovervilles of the 1930s where the poor and unemployed built shanty towns. The Sanders delegates, their bellies full of beans, will be able to return to the Wells Fargo Center and greet the rhetorical flatulence of Hillary Clinton with the real thing.”

FERAL DOGS LOOSE IN PHILLY

This story is so despicable, it’s almost beyond comprehension. When you are 34 years old, driving an 18 year old Corolla, and delivering pizzas for a living, your life isn’t exactly roses and wine. But it can get worse in the killing fields known as West Philly. You can get set up by two feral animals, robbed and then shot in the head. No human beings could do that to another human being. These feral dogs roam the streets of Philly looking for innocent people to attack.

They are dumber than dirt. They’re the bastard spawn of ignorant black people. They never meet the scumbags who fathered them. They go to Philly public schools until they drop out. They are so fucking stupid, they think a pizza delivery guy is going to have more than $60 on them. They have no sense of morality, compassion, or humanity. They are nothing more than rabid wild dogs. They will never become civilized. They need to be put down like the animals they are.

This is Philly. The commie mayor is busy creating Muslim holidays while his streets are filled with these dregs killing, raping, and robbing. And as expected the MSM did not mention the race of the perpetrators. That would be raciss.

Pizza delivery driver robbed, shot in head in Southwest Philly

Police are searching for two men who robbed a pizza delivery driver and shot him in the back of the head Monday night.

Detectives believe the 34-year-old driver was set up by the two robbers, who called in an order for pizza, steaks and soda to be delivered to a house on the 5700 block of Beaumont Avenue in Kingsessing, Lt. John Walker of the Southwest Detective Division said Tuesday.

After the driver arrived on the block and got out of his 1998 gold Toyota Corolla to organize the food and call the person who made the order, two men approached him, police said. One pulled out a gun.

They told the driver to stay quiet, forced him into the front-passenger seat of his car, then drove to a wooded area, possibly near Cobbs Creek Parkway and Warrington Avenue, Walker said.

The robbers then told him to get out of his car and forced him on his knees.

The men searched the deliveryman’s pockets and found $60, but told him that was not enough, Walker said. They threatened to shoot him.

One of the robbers got back in the car, and threatened to run the deliveryman over, Walker said.

After the second robber returned to the car, one of the assailants fired a shot at the victim, hitting him in the back of the head.

BECOMING A THUG STARTS EARLY IN PHILLY

You reap what you sow. These little terrorists learned this behavior from their parents. It’s really that simple. Ignorant lowlifes reproduce, and this is what they spawn. SEPTA should use this video in their ad campaign to gain more riders.

VIDEO: Parents speak out about SEPTA video

The parents of the children seen in a viral video on a SEPTA train speak to Action News. (WPVI)

Aurelis Rivera is the mother of two of the boys seen in the video, ages 8 and 10.

“I’m very ashamed. I would never think that they would do something like that,” Rivera said.

Eulid Perez is the father of two boys, ages 7 and 11, and an 8-year-old girl.

“It gets me angry, you know. I was angry at my kids, I’m still angry at my kids for acting like that,” Perez said.

The incident took place March 24th on the Market Frankford El. A rider posted the video to social media.

SEPTA police say a woman with four boys and a girl hopped on the train at 2nd and Market and got off at the York-Dauphin station at 7:47 p.m.

Police had released the video unblurred hoping someone would recognize them to get the kids professional help.

“We want to get them help. This is not the kind of case where at 6 a.m. someday we’re going to be busting down a door and dragging them out in little handcuffs. It’s just not going to happen. We want to get help for them,” SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel said.

LONG HOT SUMMER IN THE CITY

I love how the powers that be in our Democratic run urban areas are blaming the warm Spring for the 50% increase in murders in their cities. Classic liberal response. It couldn’t be the policies they’ve inflicted on their residents for the last 40 years. How’s that War on Poverty working out in Chicago, Detroit and Philly? If you were thinking about moving to Chicago, think again.

If they are blaming the surge in murders on temperatures rising to 60 degrees in March, imagine what will happen when temperatures hit 100 degrees in August. It’s going to be a long hot summer in the cities.

Fractured gangs blamed for Chicago homicide surge

CHICAGO — There are many theories about what has caused a recent spike in Chicago’s homicide rate, including a splintering of established drug gangs, the warm winter and high unemployment in some neighborhoods that seem a world away from the city’s beaches, lush parks and skyscrapers.

The numbers clearly show there is a problem, with eight killed and at least 35 wounded in a spasm of gunfire last weekend.

The violence is nowhere near its historical peak of the early 1990s, when Chicago recorded roughly 900 homicides per year. But from Jan. 1 through late May there were 203 homicides, an increase of more than 50 percent over the 134 during the same period in 2011.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has made combatting gangs a priority and has stood with Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy to unveil a plan of attack. Among the new police tactics is the deployment of dozens of specialized undercover officers to units on Chicago’s West and South sides and then saturating those neighborhood streets with uniformed officers.

In addition, Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday signed into law the Illinois Street Gang RICO Act, which aims to dismantle gangs by boosting penalties for crimes performed as part of a criminal enterprise.

In Englewood, a roughly 20-by-20-block South Side neighborhood, homicides jumped from 40 in 2010 to 60 last year, which is more than half of the total 2011 homicides for cities such as Cleveland, Milwaukee, Washington, D.C., Oakland, Calif., and Kansas City, Mo.

Though police are loath to attribute this winter’s unusually warm weather as a possible factor, because it smacks of excuse-making, there were far more people on the streets in January, February and March — including gang members — than during those months in 2011.

Just as important have been dramatic changes within the gangs themselves.

“In the past the gangs were very organized from the top down,” said Sgt. Matthew Little of the Chicago Police Department’s gang enforcement unit. As more gang leaders are arrested, convicted and sent to prison, the gangs they left behind have become “very splintered,” he said.

Young men on the city’s streets agree.

“There is no one to control this, so it has become haywire,” said Devon Tims, who identified himself as one of the Chicago Vice Lords, making him one of the city’s estimated 70,000 gang members.

In interviews, McCarthy said the “fracturing” of larger gangs into smaller ones has doubled the number of factions and conflicts. “These kids have guns and they end up using them,” he said.

McCarthy said the gangs are far more territorial and rigid than those that operated when he was a ranking commander in the New York City Police Department and the chief in Newark, N.J. And that means trouble when a gang member simply crosses the street into rival territory.

“If we see a car with three of (one gang’s) guys three blocks over there (on another gang’s turf), they are probably going to shoot someone,” said Leo Schmitz, a gang enforcement commander who was redeployed in January to command Englewood’s police district.

The demolition of the city’s infamous public housing complexes in recent years also played a role. While the high rises long were considered a massive failure that warehoused the city’s poorest families and became magnets for gangs, tearing them down caused a new set of problems by scattering gang members to other parts of the city.

Some of them eventually settled in the thousands of houses that were abandoned during the nation’s recent financial crisis. There the battle for supremacy started anew.

Residents and activists from the most violent neighborhoods have seen similar campaigns to combat gang violence over the years and were both hopeful and skeptical about the latest one.

Jean Carter-Hill, an activist from Englewood, said she thinks the increase in officers patrolling the streets is helping clean up the area but that the city needs to do more, such as helping youths with conflict resolution.

“Every time there is a conflict, these young people get a gun,” she said. “And everyone seems to know where a gun is.”
