COMMON SENSE – 2017 (PART TWO)

In Part One of this article I explored Thomas Paine’s critical role in the creation of our nation. His Common Sense pamphlets inspired the common people to uncommon acts of courage and heroic feats of valor; leading to the great experiment we call the United States of America. Paine, Franklin and the other Founding Fathers produced a republic, if we could keep it.

John Adams championed the new Constitution precisely because it would not create a democracy, as he knew a democracy “soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself.” Their herculean efforts, sacrifices, and bloodshed have been for naught as we allowed our republic to devolve into a democracy and ultimately into our current corporate fascist warfare/welfare surveillance state. Sadly, we were unable to keep the republic Franklin and his fellow revolutionaries gave us.

“From the errors of other nations, let us learn wisdom.” – Thomas Paine, Common Sense

Some might contend Paine’s Common Sense arguments against a despotic monarchy two and a half centuries ago, with an audience of two and a half million colonists, couldn’t be pertinent today in a divided nation of 325 million people. But when you examine the events, actions and catalysts inspiring Paine to pen Common Sense, you see the parallels with the events, decisions and facilitators of our current Crisis.

GREY CHAMPION ASSUMES COMMAND (PART TWO)

In Part One of this article I discussed the arrival of Grey Champions in previous Fourth Turnings; their attributes, deficiencies, and leadership skills; and why Donald Trump is the Grey Champion of this Fourth Turning – whether you like it or not. Now I will try to make sense of what could happen next.

“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American people. The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don’t have your good in mind. The political establishment that is trying to stop us is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry.

It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities. The only thing that can stop this corrupt machine is you. The only force strong enough to save our country is us. The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you, the American people.” Donald Trump

Seventy year old Donald Trump has assumed the Grey Champion flagstaff. In an increasingly chaotic world, normal working class Americans in flyover country were seeking a leader who could bring order, defeat the corrupt establishment, make tough decisions, and capture the zeitgeist of this moment in history. The ruling elite oligarchs and their fawning minions, occupying their strongholds in New York, California, Illinois, and D.C., are infuriated the peasants have dared to resist. In their secretive secure spaces, the elites are plotting with one purpose in mind – this uprising must be quelled.

QUOTES OF THE DAY

“No man will ever bring out of that office the reputation which carries him into it. The honeymoon would be as short in that case as in any other, and its moments of ecstasy would be ransomed by years of torment and hatred.”

Thomas Jefferson

“No man who ever held the office of president would congratulate a friend on obtaining it.”

John Adams

“I’ll be damned if I am not getting tired of this. It seems to be the profession of a President simply to hear other people talk. ”

William Howard Taft

“The President was trapped – and with nearly every president, it had come about from his own words. Presidential promises and statements… The people had this annoying way of remembering them. And even if they didn’t, there were journalists and political rivals never passed on a chance to make the necessary reminders.”

The Imperial President’s Toolbox of Terror: A Dictatorship Waiting to Happen

Guest Post by John W. Whitehead

Presidents don’t give up power.

Executive orders don’t expire at the end of each presidential term.

And every successive occupant of the Oval Office since George Washington, who issued the first executive order, has expanded the reach and power of the presidency.

The Constitution invests the President with very specific, limited powers. In recent years, however, American presidents have anointed themselves with the power to wage war, unilaterally kill Americans, torture prisoners, strip citizens of their rights, arrest and detain citizens indefinitely, carry out warrantless spying on Americans, and erect their own secretive, shadow government.

These are the powers that will be inherited by the next heir to the throne, and it won’t make a difference whether it’s a President Trump or a President Clinton occupying the Oval Office.

Pennsauken native launches long-shot presidential bid

Via The Courier Post

CHERRY HILL – When Larry Kotlikoff was 8 years old he worked in his family-owned department store for 25 cents an hour.

During the holiday season, when he wasn’t at Pennsauken Junior High, he’d be stuck inside the store, Kotlikoff’s, in East Camden day and night, helping customers, stocking shelves, and doing just about whatever else his father and uncles could get him to do.

“I think they violated child labor laws,” Kotlikoff joked.

Back then he wasn’t as savvy as he is now and couldn’t properly evaluate his financial stability as a low-wage earner. That’s not a mistake he would make today.

Nearly 60 years later Kotlikoff is a world-traveled economist teaching at Boston College. He has a doctorate in economics from Harvard University and is often featured in publications such as Forbes and Bloomberg as an economic contributor. He’s published 17 books, taught at Yale and UCLA, and served as a member of President Ronald Reagan’s Counsel of Economic Advisors.

But writing about the economy doesn’t seem to be affecting the direction of the country, so Kotlikoff is taking matters into his own hands.

He’s running for president.

Orlando Killer’s Father “Knew Obama”? Schmoozed In Washington, Sought Afghan Presidency

How close was presumed killer Omar Mateen to the bizarre world of Washington politics?

Screen shot 2016-06-17 at 6.07.00 AM

Close enough to raise your hackles about what is really going on.

Mateen’s father, Seddique Mateen, apparently visits the Capitol frequently, take pictures in front of the State Department and White House press room, and likes to pose with Congressmen, especially from the Foreign Affairs Committee.

There are also rumors, though they are unconfirmed, that Seddique Mateen has also met with President Obama.

His activity at the State Department and Foreign Affairs Committee also suggest possible liaisons with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and current Secretary of State John Kerry, along with other U.S. politicians.

Picture of him were posted to his Facebook account:

Why Donald J. Trump Will Be the Next President of the United States

Via Zero Anthropology

Trump often emerges on stage from behind a dark navy curtain. That is a symbolically rich move, and it is a symbolism whose deeper meaning and importance throws others off, especially the likes of Hillary Clinton. This is the puppet master, the man behind the curtain, the campaign donor and buyer of favours and influence, who has suddenly decided to step out into the spotlight, and to not only be seen but to announce his role as a former puppet master, now turned rival. That has to ruin the whole show. The move is so deeply subversive, that one has to wonder just how many have truly appreciated its import.

Taking the bait, by agreeing to provide an explanation of why on several occasions since last September I have been voicing my always more certain belief that Donald Trump will be the next president of the US, is not the same thing as saying he should or should not be the president. The primary motivation in producing this is to argue against the self-satisfied misconceptions of status quo representatives, who “refuse to adapt to reality,” whose “explanations” take the dominant system for granted, and who write as if from the depths of a permanent static equilibrium. It is also written as an expression of surprise—surprise that so many in the US, even if a minority overall, seem to have understood so little about their own country, probably because again they take so much for granted and self-confidence has been fossilized as orthodoxy.

Here then are some of the major reasons why Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States, and arguments against commonly proffered reasons for his demise. The numbering below does not suggest any ranking—except for the first item in the list, which I would rank as my top reason.

Mattis: ‘I Don’t Understand’ Speculation about Presidential Run

Gen Mattis

The new favorite Cinderella story in Washington involves a plan to draft the beloved former Marine general James Mattis to run as a dark horse candidate against a lackluster presidential field.

But Mattis, speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies on Friday morning, declined to indulge speculation.

“No, I haven’t given any thought to” a presidential run, Mattis said, dismissing further discussion of the possibility.

Following his lecture on the Middle East and Iranian aggression, Mattis, the former four-star commander of U.S. Central Command and a current fellow at the Hoover Institution in California, implied he was mystified by the buzz surrounding his hypothetical candidacy.

WHO DO MUZZIES SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT?

Infographic: 2016 Presidential Primaries: Which Candidates Are U.S. Muslims Supporting? | Statista
You will find more statistics at Statista

According to research conducted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), 73 percent of Muslim voters in the United States will go to the polls in state primaries. 15 percent will vote for Republican candidates compared to 67 percent who plan on supporting Democratic candidates. Overall, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are the two most popular candidates among Muslim voters, garnering 52 and 22 percent of support respectively. Even though Donald Trump wants to ban more Muslims entering the United States, he is still the most popular Republican candidate among American-Muslims.

Bloomberg May Run For President After Becoming “Frustrated” With Race Gone “Haywire”

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/23/2016 14:45 -0500

If you enjoy the circus, then this presidential campaign is for you.

In the last nine months, we’ve witnessed the unlikely rise of not one, but two dark horse candidates to the top of the polls and we’ve also had the pleasure of looking on as a dizzying array of GOP candidates engaged in a series of soapbox free-for-all debates that at times devolved into pure comedy.

Bernie Sanders, a far-left socialist running on a platform that includes such pipe dreams as free college for everyone, has emerged as a real threat Hillary Clinton on the Democratic ticket.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump has managed to pull off an unlikely transition from the boardroom to the ballot box, on the way to whipping large swaths of the electorate into a nationalistic frenzy.

Meanwhile, Clinton is under investigation for possibly throwing around state secrets on a private e-mail server and Ted Cruz may not even be eligible to hold office.

Well just in case things needed to get any more entertaining, it now appears billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is going to insert himself into the race as an independent candidate.

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is taking early steps toward launching an independent campaign for president, seeing a potential path to the White House amid the rise of Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders,” AP reports, adding that “the billionaire media executive is said to be concerned by Trump’s lasting hold on the Republican field and is worried about the impact of Sanders’ campaign on Hillary Clinton’s bid for the Democratic nomination.”

One Presidential Candidate Wants to End the Drug War and Pardon Snowden

Guest Post by Claire Bernish

(ANTIMEDIA) United States — John McAfee likely rings a bell for most, simply by virtue of his cyber-security noteworthy surname — which makes his September announcement of his bid for president as a member of the Cyber Party quite logical.

As Americans’ faith in, well, just about everything surrounding traditional elections wanes to perilously close to an all-time nadir, McAfee’s platform shows surprising glints of common sense worth more than a simple passing glance.

McAfee’s reasons for running, as well as his stance on a number of pertinent issues currently asked of major party candidates, were clarified in an interview with S.M. Gibson on a recent edition of Anti-Media Radio.

“Quite frankly,” McAfee opens with his reason for jumping into the field of presidential hopefuls, “I would much rather go fishing than run for president; but my advisors and my friends, and particularly my fans, finally threatened to break my kneecaps if I didn’t do it.

“Here’s the issue: they’ve been urging me to run for about a year, and I finally looked at the field of candidates and realized that we don’t have anybody running [who’s] qualified to fix the problems of this country.

“I mean, we live under an insane government — this is the absolute truth — if you look at the simplest things, like the TSA [Transportation Security Authority]. They tell us that they’re there to protect us; yet, when I’m standing in line, with my belt and my shoes off, and they’re scrutinizing my belongings and my hands are in the air while they’re frisking me — I don’t feel protected. I feel like the enemy. And sometimes when you feel like the enemy, maybe to the government, you are the enemy.
