Slavery in American history has come into vogue among those of much political enthusiasm but the intelligence of box turtles and little knowledge of the matter. I sometimes think that America should institute a system of public education, but apparently this is not going to happen. Anyway, a few thoughts of possible interest:

Whites didn’t enslave blacks. These were captured by black slave traders or bought as prisoners of war, and kept in slave pens on the African coast until slave ships bought them. This may seem a cheap debating point but is how the slave business actually worked.

I believe it’s safe to say that most all of us sympathise with anyone who’s living in a condition of relative slavery and, if he has the courage to attempt to free himself, we root for him to succeed. Those of us who are the most compassionate would even offer him support in his quest, if we were called upon to do so.

But few of us think about slavery as being a modern institution. We tend to see slaves as victims of a racial divide who suffered disgracefully in times gone by.

So, we should take a look at the definition of slavery. In essence, it’s a state in which the product of an individual’s labour is forcibly taken from him. (His condition may include abuse, bondage, etc., but these are symptoms, not a definition.) The purpose for enslavement is always the same: to obtain the fruits of the slave’s labour, without mutually agreed-upon compensation.

The moniker of my website originated from a quote by David Walker, then Comptroller General of the U.S., in 2007. I wholeheartedly endorsed Walker’s viewpoint and become politically active in trying to get Ron Paul elected as president in 2008 and 2012. It was a fruitless effort, as the uni-party in Washington DC, controlled by the dark forces of the Deep State, do not allow men and women who truly want to reduce the size and scope of government to ever get elected. His warning sixteen years ago is a perfect example of being right but being early. When talking about the decline of empires, you are really deliberating about a process, not an event. The Roman Empire did not fall on a specific day due to a specific cause. It collapsed in stages over hundreds of years due to numerous reasons, each triggering events which compounded upon each other and ultimately led to the final collapse.

Slavery Is Everywhere

There are tens of millions of people trapped in various forms of slavery throughout the world today. Researchers estimate that 40 million are enslaved worldwide, generating $150 billion each year in illicit profits for traffickers.

  • Labor Slavery. About 50 percent (21 million) toil in forced labor slavery in industries where manual labor is needed—such as farming, ranching, logging, mining, fishing, and brick making—and in service industries working as dish washers, janitors, gardeners, and maids.
  • Sex Slavery. About 12.5 percent (4 million) are trapped in forced prostitution sex slavery.
  • Forced Marriage Slavery. About 37.5 percent (15 million) are trapped in forced marriages.
  • Child Slavery. About 25 percent of today’s slaves are children.

Slightly Up From Slavery

To eliminate misunderstanding as to what taxes are, it is helpful to define the word “theft.” One good definition is “the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods of another.” The definition does not go on to say, “unless you’re the government.”

There is no difference, in principle, between the State taking property and a street gang doing so, except that the State’s theft is “legal” and its agents are immune from prosecution. Many people do not accept that analogy, because the government is widely viewed as being of, for, and by the people, even though it’s also acknowledged as acting badly from time to time.

The Good is Always the Enemy of the Best, Part 2 – Dumpster Life

In Part 1, I wrote of a girl named Mia who lived on grubs in the desert, but journeyed to the Big City to discover a wealth of food and drink. The only problem was that her eating establishment was a dumpster out back of a restaurant. Mia was so taken with her new found food source that she refused to look for better, and she even rejected her best friend who was calling her forward to better. Take a minute and read Mia’s story if you have not already.

There are lots of dumpsters in life, some we discover, like Mia’s, and some we are forced into, or suckered into. Our benevolent government is doing its best to get every group of people to settle for some dumpster as their life’s normal. Might be a “we’re all in this together” lock down to flatten the curve, ridiculous face mask mandates in the name of safety, trading freedom for security, stimulus payments of play money while the currency is being destroyed, transgender mutilation for the praise of the woke, or welcoming infinite government as an eternal nanny. If you can get someone to accept eating out of a dumpster when they could be eating fresh food, and con them into loving it and even defending it, the game’s pretty much over for them.

The Truth About Slavery

Was slavery a wrong or an inherited institution?

Did slavery originate in the English colonies in North America in the 17th century or do its origins go back before the time of recorded history?

Is slavery racist or is it based on economic motive?

If a person wants understanding, these are important questions.

But if a person wants to engage others in emotion for the purpose of gaining preferment and its rewards, money and power, or simply to enjoy the self-righteousness of moral denunciation of one’s fellows, these questions are in the way.  The fact that these questions are never asked and are not a part of black studies programs in universities or the New York Times’ fake history project–the 1619 Project–is conclusive evidence that today slavery is an emotive word used to demonize white people and to bring preferment to black people.

My Rambling Screed

So I thought that before I join the revolution and lose my life in defense of freedom I’d just go ahead and publish my rambling screed. You know, that long document that martyrs leave behind railing against the machine, the man, the system, or whatever. Perhaps by doing this I can get some good edits under my belt because it would be embarrassing to publish a first draft rambling screed loaded with typos or factual inaccuracies. (Is that white privilege?)

This also allows CNN and other high quality news outlets to have my rambling screed on file, like they do with obituaries of famous people, but ready to excerpt, distort, criticize, and ridicule after my untimely yet heroic passing (though I do not feel a bit suicidal).

Lincoln Was A Racist and the “Civil War” Was NOT About Slavery

Some black Americans have created a black version of the KKK.  They have even adopted similar terminology.  The leader is called “Grand Master Jay.”  The job of the organization, NFAC, is “to protect the black community” from white people.

The KKK’s job was to protect the white Southern community, which was under attack by Reconstruction.

The NFAC sees the plight of the American black exactly as the white liberal elites want blacks to see it—oppression and abuse by whites.  This keeps the American people divided and power safe in the hands of the corrupt elites.

Grand Master Jay wants black people to secede from the US just as the Southern States seceded.  As Abe Lincoln believed, Grand Master Jay believes that blacks and whites can’t live together.

After writing a particularly depressing article where I come to a logical conclusion, based upon the factual evidence of all previous Fourth Turnings, I always wonder whether I’m being too pessimistic and peddling doom, like many of the clickbait websites. The conclusions I reached at the end of my last two articles were particularly gloomy and made me wonder whether I was going too far. I thought maybe I was too pessimistic and my predictions of civil chaos and global disorder were overblown.

It just so happened I published my last article on May 24, predicting a 2nd Civil War. I figured we might have a couple years to prepare, as there is likely five to ten years  before this Fourth Turning reaches a climax. Little did I know a black man with a long criminal background, high on fentanyl and resisting arrest in Minneapolis, would be killed by a white police thug named Derek Chauvin, who had seventeen complaints against him over his illustrious career, on the day after my article was posted. Oddly, it seems this murder will be our Fort Sumter/Pearl Harbor of this Fourth Turning.

The New York Times has begun a major initiative, the “1619 Project,” to observe the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe American history so that slavery and the contributions of black Americans explain who we are as a nation. Nikole Hannah-Jones, staff writer for The New York Times Magazine wrote the lead article, “America Wasn’t a Democracy, Until Black Americans Made It One.” She writes, “Without the idealistic, strenuous and patriotic efforts of black Americans, our democracy today would most likely look very different — it might not be a democracy at all.”

FOURTH TURNING ECONOMICS

The quote above captures the current Fourth Turning perfectly, even though it was written more than a decade before the 2008 financial tsunami struck. With global debt now exceeding $250 trillion, up 60% since the Crisis began, and $13 trillion of sovereign debt with negative yields, it is clear to all rational thinking individuals the next financial crisis will make 2008 look like a walk in the park. We are approaching the eleventh anniversary of this crisis period, with possibly a decade to go before a resolution.

Slavery Is Neither Strange Nor Peculiar

The favorite leftist tool for the attack on our nation’s founding is that slavery was sanctioned. They argue that the founders disregarded the promises of our Declaration of Independence “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” These very ignorant people, both in and out of academia, want us to believe that slavery is unusual, as historian Kenneth Stampp suggested in his book, “Peculiar Institution: Slavery in the Ante-Bellum South.” But slavery is by no means peculiar, odd, unusual or unique to the U.S.
