UNDER THE BOARDWALK

Yeah, under the reinforced boardwalk, down by the sea, yeahOn a mobility scooter with my obese tatted baby is where I’ll be

Out of the sun(Under the boardwalk) We’ll be havin’ some funnel cake(Under the boardwalk) People waddling above(Under the boardwalk) We’ll be fallin’ in love with fried oreos & fudge(Under the boardwalk) Yeah (riding the tramcar instead of walking)

We finished our vacation week in Wildwood. No more stories about drunken nights at the Shamrock. It is now a construction site, with new $800,000 cookie cutter condos slated to replace a famous institution, which gave me unlimited fodder for at least two dozen articles about the crazy nights spent at our favorite bar over the last fifteen years.

Tom Gerace, 59, owner of Shamrock, stands outside of the Shamrock as it's being torn apart inside to clear way when moving the Victorian house above it on Friday, June 25, 2021. “It’s depressing and we put a lot of work into it,” Gerace said. “Stuff happens and I did what was best for me at some point. If I opened back up I would lose my liquor license.”

We still see Billy Jack, as he regularly plays at The Cove, two blocks from the old Shamrock, but it isn’t the same. There is another construction boom in Wildwood, but I won’t be lured into buying at the top again. I’ll wait for the crash that may never come. But some things never change in good old Wildwood. It’s lucky they replaced a good chunk of the boardwalk, because I don’t think the old boards could support the obese land whales waddling towards the funnel cake stand or racing down the boards on their mobility scooters to buy a fried twinkie washed down by a 128 ounce lemonade (extra sugar) on one of their eight credit cards.

SUMMER THROWBACK: DUMBASS FAT CAT, CRAZY LADY, & SECTION 8 AT THE BEACH

Today we are headed to Wildwood for our annual vacation. The start of summer wouldn’t be complete without a reposting of this TBP classic from 2011.

UPDATE 2020:  Fat Moe’s days at the shore are over. He left for the big litter box in the sky. The Section 8 couple, skinny Mike and Fat Foul Mouthed Joyce broke up when Mike was sent to State Prison for selling heroin in a school zone. She immediately shacked up with a huge black dude who ended up taking her away to Florida.

We sold the condo in January 2019, so no more Section 8 stories. It was an interesting 12 years as a condo owner. Now we’re just renters.

UPDATE 2021: My real estate acumen has been proven once again. We had the condo up for sale for 3 years without a nibble from 2016 through 2018. We finally sold it for $240,000 – an $85,000 loss after 12 years. The condo above ours just sold for $389,000, two years after we sold. At least I got that big tax writeoff.

Update 2022: Condo in my old complex sold for $489,000 in the last few months.

Enjoy

RISE TO REBELLION – A FOURTH TURNING PERSPECTIVE

“I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either. … Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation.” John Adams

“A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” John Adams

I have bookshelves filled with books I haven’t read yet. I’m a collector of books who doesn’t have much time to read but plans to spend my waning years catching up on all the reading I’ve been unable to do while working, blogging, and raising a family. Still, I always have one or two books on my nightstand being read in fits and starts. After finishing a Grisham novel, I sought another book to occupy my time from my living room bookshelf. I grabbed Rise to Rebellion, a Jeff Shaara historical novel I had purchased at a used bookstore in Wildwood, NJ many years ago.

I don’t know why I chose that book from the dozens of options on the bookshelf, but it seems to have been a wise choice given the current state of affairs in the world. I always find the wisdom and courage of our founding fathers to be a beacon of light in the darkness slowly engulfing the world as we approach the denouement of this Fourth Turning, the fourth, and hopefully not last, in U.S. history. Probably without knowing it, most of Shaara’s historical novels revolved around events during the first three Fourth Turnings.

JUST PADDLING WHILE THE EMPIRE BURNS

The phrase “fiddling while Rome burns” is an intriguing idiom, referencing the great fire which ravaged Rome for six days in 64 A.D. and the legend that Nero, one of the most sadistic, decadent, and cruel rulers of all-time, instead of taking action to stop the fire, played his lyre while composing a song about Rome’s destruction. The Roman historian Tacitus wrote that Nero was rumored to have sung about the destruction of Rome while watching the city burn but it’s likely this was just a myth.

The fire destroyed seventy percent of the city and left half the population homeless. There are those who believe Nero set the fire on purpose, especially after he used land cleared by the fire to build his Golden Palace and its surrounding pleasure gardens. Being a soulless autocrat at heart, Nero did what all feckless politicians do, he blamed the Christians (an obscure religious sect at the time) for the fire and had many arrested and executed.

Bill Kristol on Twitter: "1952 years ago: Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Today: GOP bigs fiddle while the Republican Party burns. https://t.co/gnFUu1MoaJ" / Twitter

Whether this story is true or just a parable, the messages are pertinent throughout history, and never more so than now. Occupying one’s time doing inconsequential things while a catastrophic event is underway is the ultimate in leadership failure. Focusing on trivial matters while your people are suffering during a time of crisis is the mark of an ineffectual irresponsible leader or one whose true purpose is to burn down society so it can be “built back better” in the form of a communist totalitarian state ruled by a globalist elite cabal.

MONTEGO BAY RESORT - Updated 2022 Prices & Motel Reviews (North Wildwood, NJ)

When we saw the forecast for this past weekend on Wednesday, we quickly booked a room for Friday and Saturday nights in Wildwood. Even though we are headed back down to the beach in two weeks for our annual vacation, we couldn’t pass up an 80 degree day in May. The Montego Bay hotel is one of only a few that are open all year in Wildwood. It’s kind of dumpy, the staff is grumpy and the one elevator takes five minutes to arrive.

You park underneath and there is always water dripping from somewhere. It always reminds me of that condo tower that collapsed in Miami last year. The rooms are clean and the view from the 5th floor balcony is spectacular, looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. You get to see a stunning sunrise, majestic sailboats, and dolphins frolicking close to the beach.

Of course it’s easier to see when there isn’t a five story pile of sand in front of your hotel and the beach access is blocked off. It’s normally peaceful when there aren’t dump trucks and other heavy machinery operating from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm. It’s also quieter when your ghetto neighbors in the next room aren’t blasting their music at volume 11. It seems the North Wildwood authorities attempt to defeat Mother Nature every year by replenishing the beach that washes away every winter during coastal storms. So they pile up tons of sand and truck it up and down the North Wildwood beaches all spring, trying to create a decent sized beach by Memorial Day. It’s not working so well this year.

WILDWOOD HONEY BADGERS DON’T GIVE A SHIT

honey badger don't give a shit - The Honey Badger | Meme Generator

We’ve been in Wildwood since Saturday as the fake news MSM has been fear mongering the dreaded Delta variant that doesn’t kill anyone at a hysterical pitch, designed to aid Biden and his moronic band of clueless apparatchiks as they inflict their coercive vaccine campaign upon the masses. Well I’ve got some news from the real world. The thousands upon thousands of people vacationing in Wildwood, NJ don’t give a shit about Biden and the MSM fear campaign.

We’ve been on the beach, on the boardwalk, at bars and at restaurants. No one is masking, other than a few Karen cat ladies, no one is social distancing, and no one is fearful. Families are on the beach playing games, swimming in the ocean, digging in the sand, illegally drinking alcohol, and essentially ignoring the false narrative being spun by senile Biden and his lying acolytes. Cape May County has 23 cases per day “with” Covid, and have experienced 4 deaths “with” Covid in the last three months, most likely four 85 year olds with five co-morbidities  that actually killed them.

DICTATOR MURPHY KILLED THE SHAMROCK

The fucking dictator Murphy killed another small business with his ridiculous Covid rules and regulations. Dozens of jobs and thousands in tax revenues for NJ crushed by this scum sucking vile piece of shit governor. Fuck Murphy and his band of spineless lackey enforcers. No more stories of drunkenness and depravity from nights at The Shamrock. Farewell old friend.

Saying Goodbye to the Shamrock - Video Tour

Saying Goodbye to the Shamrock – Video Tour

We have some extremely sad news coming out of Wildwood today. The Shamrock, which is located at 3700 Pacific Ave in Wildwood, has shut it’s doors. (See video tour at the bottom of the page)

For the past year, we have been reporting on and off about The Shamrock and the pandemic.

The state had come in and shut them down twice now for ‘breaking covid’ protocols and they are currently in a shutdown that would last through Labor Day Weekend.

According to our sources, the land is being purchased to become a parking lot for some of the new projects taking form on Pacific Ave. This would mean that Shamrock will be getting demolished.

DUMBASS FAT CAT, CRAZY LADY, & SECTION 8 AT THE BEACH

The start of summer wouldn’t be complete without a reposting of this TBP classic from 2011. When I re-read the story and the comments, I miss AWD more than ever. His last comment ever on TBP to me was to have fun in Wildwood.

I bet you’ve been waiting for another cat story. Well this one doesn’t involve my dumbass cats. The start of my vacation didn’t exactly go the way I wanted. I worked until 5:00 pm last Friday. Avalon headed down with the kids and the cats earlier in the day. I had to go pick up my mother and her fat cat after work to bring them down. I bet you are all jealous. Avalon, my three kids, one friend, one girlfriend, a mother, and three cats in my one floor condo. Sounds relaxing, doesn’t it.

My mother’s cat is the size of a freaking house. She says he is just big boned.

white fat cat

We had to practically pry him into his cat carrier for the 2 hour trip to Wildwood. This cat never meows, according to my mother. Well, from the second I put him in my little Honda Insight, this cat never shut the f#$k up. He meowed non-stop the entire trip. We figured out why he was meowing about 45 minutes into the trip when the aroma of cat piss started wafting through my very tiny car. This was supposed to be the start of my relaxing vacation and my blood pressure was rising by the second.

SIGNS, SIGNS, EVERYWHERE SIGNS

“Fools, as it has long been said, are indeed separated, soon or eventually, from their money. The signs of an epic bubble of historic proportions are everywhere. The stock market is a bubble, with valuations exceeding 2001. Margin debt is at all-time highs. The bond market is a bubble, with the Fed artificially suppressing rates and pumping trillions of QE into Wall Street. Housing is experiencing another bubble, with prices now far exceeding the 2005 peak. Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto-currencies are a bubble, being driven by the excess liquidity sloshing around the system. A joke crypto currency like Dogecoin soars into the stratosphere because money has no meaning anymore.

MURPHY & HIS GESTAPO TRYING TO DESTROY THE SHAMROCK

Murphy once compared Trump to Hitler. But if you call him a fascist? He suggests you're trivializing the Holocaust » Wildwood bar owners push for extended operating hours as city commissioners weigh the risks | Local News | pressofatlanticcity.com

We have plans to head to Wildwood next weekend for the first time since last September. We were looking forward to visiting our favorite bar – The Shamrock – where I’ve documented many fascinating evenings. I consider it our Cheers, where everyone knows each other and the cast of characters are humorous and fun.

THE SUN ALSO RISES

You can tell we didn’t go to the Shamrock last night, because we were on the beach at 5:30 am for the sunrise over the Atlantic. Surprisingly, there were hundreds of others on the beach too.

Some positive observations. There were thousands of people on the beach yesterday and I didn’t see one face diaper. There were thousands of people on the boardwalk last night. Approximately 10% had face muzzles. In Wildwood, this fake pandemic is being taken with a grain of salt.

Remember, you only have a 99.97% chance of survival.

ON THE GROUND TBP CORRESPONDENT

I have an on the ground TBP correspondent at the Trump Rally in Wildwood today. After a hectic birthday weekend in NYC where we thought it was funny watching the impeachment hearings while sitting at the Trump Bar in Trump Tower, Avalon and her two best friends headed to Wildwood last night to observe the pandemonium surrounding a Trump rally.

There is an unfounded rumor going around that the only reason they were going was to see Billy Jack at the Shamrock. Billy Jack is a big time Trump supporter and always announces The Burning Platform to the audience while on stage.
